Great rooms. Very modern and clean. You'll love the double shower heads. Excellent service. Nice little gym and very good breakfast buffet.
My wife and I were traveling for business. The room was spacious, bed extremely comfortable, and the bathroom was well-appointed with hot strong bath/shower. The hotel restaurant, Gumption, was delicious for dinner and breakfast; free coffee (espresso, latte, tea) from a machine for guests even if you didn't eat at the restaurant. The location was amazing. Right next to the Cathedral. Five minute walk to several different restaurant hubs, pedestrian malls, and 10 minutes to the beautiful Botanical Gardens. Note for travelers from the USA: tipping housekeeping is appreciated but optional. Buying treats for the front desk staff is always a nice touch :)
Stayed here one night on arrival into Christchurch. We liked the room, good size and clean. Hotel is well situated centrally in the city and the staff were very friendly and helpful.

This is the perfect place to stay in Christchurch. The staff made us feel welcome and special. The Chocolate Dome desert in the restaurant is magnificent, simply the very best desert I have ever experienced. Sensational !!

Fixed a few things, so upgraded to 3 stars. First room was very "let me emphasize" ... very ... dirty bathroom with stains all over bathroom floor. Fresh stains ... next room was better, but hard to get over the initial impression.
A sign of Christchurch's rebirth. A really top quality hotel recently reopened in the Square. I'll stay here again.

Nice location and rooms. Would be 5 stars but the continental breakfast was a little average.
First impressions count, as we walked into the lobby were greeted like old friends. Great start and the room was just as impressive, with a king size bed and spacious bathroom/shower. Bar area was comfortable and evening meal excellent. Staff were polite and helpful. Would definitely recommend and stay again.
Extremely disappointed in this Hotel. Made enquire re a reunion for May next year. Went and Meet staff at hotel checked out rooms etc. Said they would get back to us with accomodation prices etc. Waited 2 weeks nothing. I sent them an e. Mail telling them really disappointed as the venue was perfect but we won t take the enquiry any further. I thought they may have replied with an explanation as to why no costs were sent through but nothing. I know they r a chosen hotel for Covid but we still would have been paying customers. P. Munro
The staff were all very lovely very helpful special thanks to Mike an Claire the well being team everyone there that played a part of the managed Isolation thank you all.. I enjoyed every meal I had thank you..The room was nice clean and the bed was very comfortable and a nice big TV.. What I loved also were the different choices of teabags coffee hot chocolate sachets you had with a small kettle an fridge cutlery plates cups and glasses..all you need..

Comfortable bed, nice room with a view over the city. Check in person helpful and friendly. We ate in the restuarant and found the food excellent and the staff outstanding.
They cancelled our booking last minute. Now we have to find somewhere else to stay during school holidays at last Minute. We book things in advance to get a good deal and now we will be ripped off because it s such short notice. They ve decided to do the governments quarantine because they can see they will get lots of Money from the govt so they don t care about the repercussions for their customers. And surely they knew quite a few weeks ago that they were going to do this, not sure why they waited until the last minute to let me know. Will never book them again, can t trust them to uphold their contracts!
Second time we have eaten here and it is superb the food is well presented and very flavorsome. And the staff are friendly and very unobtrusive in their service.
Great location and opt for the refurbished room with a 55 inch tv. Rooms Are decently sized too.
Great hotel in an excellent place. Very calm and personally refreshing experience. I got a room on 5th floor with reasonable views. Room was comfortable and had enough things that you should receive in a good hotel. Hotel also had a car parking area which was very helpful as the access to car park was managed through hotel staff. I tried the breakfast and it was really nice. Overall good experience and I have given it 5 star as per my experience. I will leave it with you try and rate as per your experience. Thanks.

Room is not as cold as expected. But overall is comfortable.
I've been here almost 10 times now (business trips) and I keep coming back! Good rooms with proper beds. Shower depends on which room you have but mainly fine. The best thing here is the service and the food! The staff is friendly and is always there to help. The dinner menu has changed but it went from 4.9 stars to 5 (meaning it was delicious already), awesome hotel!

Very comfortable. Great location. Welcoming, friendly staff. Only stayed for one night but couldn't have been happier and would definitely stay there again.

Hi Distinction. I have already done my reviews on booking.com. I just liked the location. The room 902 is not like is showing in the pictures, the bathroom is old the showers is for people with less than 1.60m (I have 1.80). Very noisy... you can heard the elevator and the crane working outside... the breakfast is Chinese style and extremely expensive for the quality. By far the worst place, that I have stayed in NZ. I hope you can improve!

Top Hotel, large comfortable rooms, central location, very good restaurant.
It was pretty good. Review dropped to a 3 because I was called that I had left my phone charger in the room and they would leave at reception, went to pick up and wasn't there, took about a week and a half of calling back and forward for it to be found and left at reception. Was not the staff working fault at all, it's a process that needs fixing :)
Went there for a meeting. Nice to see the hotel back in action. Not alot has changed on the ground floor from pre quake however. I would hope the rooms have had a makeover

Went here for Christmas dinner. Sadly it was very average. Was expecting a whole lot more on such a special day. I think they were just too busy and didn't have enough staff on.
Great standard. Enjoyed the stay due to the great service. Could do with an extra light out two over suit case benches. A towel rail would be preferred over the current hook options. I recommend this hotel.

Great value in a city that continues to recover/rebuild following the 2011 earthquake.
Stayed over for one night for business, rooms are very well appointed with modern comforts and a great shower. The only surprise and first world problem for me, there was nothing with a USB outlet to charge my phone. Normally there would be a clock radio or dedicated USB wall socket close to the bedside table.
We are here as returning KIWI's from the Middle East and the staff here are the most friendliest, helpful people. We may not see them but communication has been very caring and supportive. The rooms just gawjess. Isolation is part of the process and we were surprised to be moved from Auckland to Christchurch however very appreciative all the same. Thank you Distinction Chch for looking after us with the Army, Police and Border staff.

The hotel was good and the centre of Christchurch. The room was nice but the bathroom had no hand held shower head. It was either a bath or a small rain old fashion shower. The breakfast was not brilliant either in comparison to all other 4 star hotels.
