From unusual angles to unexpected materials this hall never fails to amaze. There are tours to be had but they not necessarily include the concert hall itself, it all depends on the performance schedule and rehearsals. The tour can also include all of the nearby performance spaces. Very much reccomend for the architecture buff.

Fun

Beautiful!

Beautiful!
The place itself is a work of art. No matter what angle you look at, it will always look that different. Wonderful!

Angelique Kidjo

After the intermission, more than 100 musicians including two harps, piano, and pipe organ set on the stage, two caterpillar like huge black speakers hanging from the ceiling, captioning projectors glowing, it will be something big happening.

The lights turned on the stage, the woman in African traditional dress from the head to the toe coming out, conductor John Adams holding a baton, I had goosebumps all over and understood why this music needed more than 100 musicians as she started to sing. Her voice was not loud, or high pitched, but it's enough to captivate people's mind. Her name is Angelique Kidjo. Her voice was AMAZING and unique that I have never heard before. Composer Philip Glass would be lucky as he met her, "one of the greatest artists in international music today"(LA Phil performances magazine). I was jealous why God gave such an amazing voice only to her, not me?

And we were honored that we met living legends, the greatest Americans composers John Adams and Philip Glass.

Drizzling at night in LA downtown and I felt fatigue from work, but once again my decision to come to LAPhil was the one of the best choice of this month. Amazing.

The architecture of this building is amazing. We did the tour with the detour application and learned a lot. You really need to spend some time and walk around the building to discover hidden gems.

Designed by Frank Gehry and opened in 2003, the Concert Hall is an architectural masterpiece in the heart of Downtown Los Angeles. The modern design is imaginative and beautiful to look at. On the roof, a garden was created. Named after Walt Disney, whose family has sponsored more than $ 50 million to build. In any case, every L.A. visitor should be on the to-do list, and admission is free.

I highly recommend the self-guided tour around one of the area's most extraordinary buildings. Even if there are no concerts on the schedule, the tour provides an insight into the design, structure and day-to-day running of this amazing landmark.

We received tickets for Christmas to see Herbie Hancock which we had been looking forward to. We were very excited to see the concert hall and to hear the incredible acoustics. It is unfortunate to present a negative comment but I must. The building is fabulous, our seats Terrace level 4 above and immediate to the side of the performers gave us an incredible view of the musicians but with all of the amazing sound equipment the hall contains only one speaker pointed toward us. The sound for our seats and I'm sure for hundreds of others was absolutely amateurish and an incredible disappointment. We heard a lot of percussion and a lot of muffled bass. We came for the experience but we came especially for the music. We got a lot of noise. When the floor audience erupted in applause for a solo performance including Mr Hancock's we felt as if we had missed out on everything but the drummer.

This building remains one of Franck Gehry's finest achievements. The angles and curves of this center are reminiscent of Gaudi's architecture. The water lily in the back garden is also a nod to the Spanish architect. It is however a pity that we cannot have access to the main room which is also a marvel of Gehry's architecture. Enjoy it!

Beautiful building with a concert hall of all wood which allows for a fabulous sound experience. If you sit in the side balcony, you overlook the orchestra, offering a closer look to the musicians below. There is also a cafe-style cafeteria that offers decent food before the performance as well as convenient parking beneath the hall. If you arrive early, you could arrange to see the Broad Museum next door or the LA Moca. All in all, a memorable experience in downtown Los Angeles

Amazing facility! We saw the LA Phil perform here for a kid's show, and everyone had a great time. We sat behind the orchestra. We had a great view, but I don't think any of the seats would have been bad. The kids really enjoyed seeing the musicians play, and truly enjoyed the music. Heads up, there is construction going on around the theater right now, so consult their web sight for information on how to approach and where to park. In spite of that, this was a great day with the family.
