Dirty Al's Bayou Grill Review

The fried platter of fish and shrimp was perfect. We sat at the bar and they were very attentive. The drink was also good. Sorry I wasn't able to get a picture of the food right when it came out... I got out of hand and started eating right away.

First impressions count tremendously when in food restaurant industry.
I initially spoke with a person by the name of Maggie-I told her I was inquiring about the types of liquors they had & if would like to transfer me to someone who would no if she didn't so she proceeded to transfer me to a person who introduced himself as a Mr Rios or Ruiz & I greeted him with a good afternoon and proceeded to ask him about if they had Drambuie and ginger ale he did say that they had the Drambuie in stock but wasn't sure if they had ginger ale & so he said that he would transfer me to one of the bartenders as he was doing this, I overheard him say I don't have time for this person he gave the phone to the bartender. He didn't quite cover the audio end properly so when I overheard that I thought to myself what kind of a person says that. The bartender was less than professional herself, she proceeded to tell me that they're busy and everything is online about drink prices that I was inquiring about & placed me on hold for about 10 minutes. So I hung up & called again but they had blocked my #....Her lack of professionalism & customer service speaks volumes for a simple inquiry. I'VE read all the reviews about this this place and believe that every negative review about this establishment is very accurate about the service and their attitude in the atmosphere that they project on to customers or potential customers. I'd rather choose another place then to be subjected to discourtesy & unprofessionalism

Great atmosphere whether its lunch or dinner. Great food and hearty portions. Good service.

The food is really good the french fries are really good.They have Garlic on top. I have to admit i DO NOT LIKE SEAFOOD but this is really good

Visited from Del Rio, Texas, today. Most amazing food, very delicious. Very reasonable priced meals and very friendly staff.

As they were serving our food a cockroach comes out on our crab legs. Manager did nothing to better our first experience. Never returning!

Friendly staff! You can't go wrong with any food choices! Everything always tastes delicious! But you gotta try their fried fish and shrimp (ask for Dirty Al's special hot sauce)

The food was great as well as the service. I have only one complaint, it was very noisy and I could barely hear the person I was with. Otherwise great Cajun food.

Shrimp Etouffe was awesome. this may be a copy of my review because it started me as local guide. Dirty Al's is a great place to launch!
I asked my waiter Anthony to punch up the cajun heat and it came out great. Pecan pie is all the BEST of the South. Come get you some !

I love the shrimp and fish, the burgers are great and I don't have to go to South Padre Island to eat this great food!

Omg I love this place. It s clean, food is always on point . And our waitress was amazing, she gave us the right amount of time in between our appetizers and dinner . Love it .

I love coming here. I love the variety they offer for food and drinks. The staff is always friendly and helpful. Although the female restroom always has a funny smell almost like sewage. Other than that everything is great.

Waited at table for 25 min before server approached us to get us our drinks. When we got our food it was all cold. Server never refilled our drinks. High price if food for very bad service and bad food quality.

This is a clean, great place to get your fresh sea food. The brew is cold and prices that wont drive you to drinking.

One of the best seafood I have eaten in long time. My compliments to the Chef. Great service. The area supervisor was at the restaurant and he came to the table to see if we need it something. Well mannerd. We were a party of 5 Adults and 2 children. Father Day was well spent at Dirty Al's. Thank you to the staff. For sure I will be going back again. The michiladas were just cold and good taste. Not expensive.

The waiter was extremely nice person and the salmon and garlic was a good choice of food and the shrimp and fish basket was delicious

Waited over 45 min in an empty restaurant for a $30 plate of nacho cheese and fish scales it was absolutely revolting couldnt even stomach the vile dish

Place is garbage, all the food was nasty, and 4 plates of crab was all cold, no seasoning worst food ever.

Seafood restaurant cold and rainy outside that day so kinda cool temperature wise cold in restaurant that evening, so was a hurry and leave experience. Food was good

Our favorite seafood restaurant for the fried shrimp.

The jalapeno stuffed shrimp was excellent! The fish and shrimp combo plate with their yummy coleslaw was outstanding. Negative's...the beer was not cold enough and they no longer served fried crab claws as an appetizer.

Wish they served grilled or broiled shrimp. Pretty much everything is fried, which makes my stomach hurt.

Taste of the Coast! We like the sea life ambience and the great tasting fried fish and shrimp plate. The service is good but the bar is excellent. Expect to pay a pretty penny here though...

The shrimp bisque soup in a bread bowl is my favorite.

Awesome seafood, great service, and their french fries are the best in this area...gotta love them. Try them, and you will be addicted to them, trust me!!

Great environment and quite a bit of wait but that's expected on a Friday during Lent. The food was great & plentiful!

Only the only detail is that the waiters forget to come back, they just come back to give you the receipt.

I had been to this establishment before but today was not a good day, we asked for a drink we had ordered before and our waiter tells us they do not make that drink, finally we get beverages we ask for, next I order a red snapper, minutes later they tell me no red snapper available.

The taste of the food was really good. This is the reason I give this 3 stars. The food took way to long to get to us. The waiter Ricky did not know what is in the New England clam chowder. The waiter never returned to the table to see if we needed refills on our drinks and when one of my guest ask for condiments he acted as if we were asking for extra vs asking for what we should gotten. The service was poor in book. I could see this if the business was pact and alot of people but was dead.

Glad we went,,4 people total,,very good Service and all 4 Dinner choices were done just right! Oysters Rockefeller Very Tasty. Our Tab was $165 and that included a bottle of wine and 4 Beers , 2 appetizers and dinner so in my opinion fairly priced,,,,Absolutely would go there again.

My Angry Orchard was super cold and crisp and I'm so glad they had it on tap. A lot of places don't. The Manager checked in with us and our waitress was great! We had the crawfish peel and eat shrimp and fried shrimp and scallops w French fries! All the way around deliciousness. Most places my scallops are kinda soggy these were amazing. We will def be back!

1st they took forever to make our order, and then they burned the bacon wrapped shrimp, red potatoes and rice no flavor. Manager all he said was I'm sorry I will talk to the cook. Didn't try to make the order right. Won't be going back. Very disappointed.

I cannot tell you all enough how much we enjoyed our dinner here last night! Great service! Amazing mango daiquiri from the bar crisp cold angry orchard on tap! Crawfish on point !!! Peel and eat shrimp fresh!! Shrimp and scallops to perfection!! We will be back! Thank you Dirty Al s!!!!

Food is great but not enough for the buck...Im giving them a one star due to two issues... The waiter was so casual he decided to have a seat at our table. Unacceptable. He also handed my date the bill and announced the total to her...unacceptable...but tge big kicker was I ordered their frozen mango chamoy margarita and tge waiter asked if I wanted top shelf tequila in it....here's the problem...upon inspecting the bill on why the total was so much I found the cost of the margarita (I had two and yes they were great) but a whooping $12 each...from a frozen machine mind you. I could only imagine the cost with top shelf tequila...and even if that's possible coming from a machine. So there you go Al...u earned it.

Great food, outstanding Louisiana Blues and excellent service. I'll be glad to return on my next trip to McAllen.
