It is more than just a whitewater river trip, it is a trip back in time. Learning the history and geology of Dinosaur Monument as you travel through the gorgeous canyons made me feel like I was living in a different time. The guides are amazing and they sure cook up a mean meal!

We encountered a group of DRE guides with their guests recently while on a private river trip through Dinosaur. One of their guides was incredibly unprofessional and antagonistic towards our group. He used vulgar language towards members of our party in front of young children in his boat. He also suggested one our group would flip and drown in a rapid because he was using a bimini. All of this was unprovoked, totally out of the blue, and happened two days in a row. I would never want my children exposed to this type of behavior and would be really disappointed if I had paid for the experience. Poor character. I have been running rivers for years and never encountered a guide like this. At the take out we encounter the same group. The guide in question was named Garret. The rest of their team seemed fine.
We had a great experience! Everyone was so friendly and fun. Travis was not only knowledgeable but also helped ease my anxiety in the raft. He was awesome!
Just finished a 4 day Gates of Lodore/Green River rafting trip with my wife and 3 kids. We had an amazing time. In our group, we had 13 passengers and 4 guides on 4 rafts. Tyler, Cody, Joey, and Jakoby were awesome guides, good cooks and took care of everything. All you need to bring is a tent, sleeping bag, sleeping pad, water bottle and a set of quick-drying clothes. They take care of everything else. Everyone in our group thought the food was great. The Lodore Canyon was spectacular with some wild rapids, beautiful hikes, great camp sites, big horn sheep, bald eagles, and a ton stars every night. My 9yr old loved it, my 16yr old loved it, and the 67yr old couple with us loved it. The prices are really good, especially for kids and especially when you compare it to some of the bigger companies. Because it's a family run business, you can really tell that everyone is trying hard to make sure you have an amazing experience. I would definitely go back. :-)
I just did a 4-day Yampa trip last Sun-Wed, and it was fantastic. Guides were knowledgeable and friendly and made the trip such an enjoyable experience. Food was great -- even had lots of options for me as a vegetarian. DRE is the best!
DORY on YAMPA! First and foremost, thank you! To all the DRE staff and Guides!
What an amazing run, DRE Guide Marcus, had on Warm Springs rapid with Dory (Canyon Wren)!!! Having the stars align to take my first Dory trip was such a unique experience...Just simply incredible. My river experience has only been with private permits/trips, so I didn't fully know what to expect with a commercial trip... And I couldn't have been more impressed! The guides and staff were extremely accommodating, personable, and experienced.
Also, the food DRE prepared was 5 star! The new COVID world is a big change for us all, and DRE is taking new procedures and precautions so we can all continue to experience wilderness from a river, in a small group setting. I felt comfortable through out the trip because of the process's DRE used to keep everyone safe. I would absolutely join another DRE trip!
Best 5 days in a row ever! Thanks to our guides Steve, Marcus, Bailey & Joey. Good food, great learning opportunity, beautiful scenery and complimentary white water kayak lessons.
This was our second rafting trip as a family and it was better than the first one! Travis our guide was lots of fun. Even with everything going on with Covid 19 we were able to have a good time. I definitely recommend this local business. Their prices are very competitive also.
