Absolutely love this place! Went with the Carolina...
Absolutely love this place! Went with the Carolina this time. So yummy
Absolutely love this place! Went with the Carolina this time. So yummy
Very loud. The food was okay. The restaurant was dark. This was an okay place to eat for me.
It was good but nothing to write home about. Parking was non-existent. Portion size was good. Service was great!
Always great food and tbh the best pull pork ever, and I have traveled more than half the world so.
The brisket was delicious. Best I've ever had. The ribs were weak to me. The mac and cheese was really good.
A pick two plate with the best brisket in New York, chicken that slides off bones, and some yummie side of greens and beans/rice all topped with traditional cornbread.
The food was awesome. Plenty of different choices, and each type of meat for a sandwich has a few options for barbecue sauce. Fun atmosphere, and the wait staff were friendly. It can be loud, so it is not the place to have a quiet group lunch.
This place blew my mind.
I m from TX, went to college in MO (hello KC and St. Louis bbq) and now live in NC so I ve had all the best bbq. I was just in town for work and doubted this place so I went to Apizza - another great place - which turned out to be right next door. Walking into Apizza, I knew I had to check this place out. The smell was AMAZING.
I ll make sure to come back to Syracuse and get an entire meal from Dinosaur BBQ. The sides people had around me looked and smelled delicious.
Old school dinner bar with excellent pulled pork, ribs, and brisket (best in central NYS). Their jerk salmon, macaroni and cheese are very good, cole slaw is okay, and their version of a Reuben is a great sandwich.
However, it can get very crowded on weekends and they don't take reservations so be prepared to wait.
Love the food here. My wife and I always are impressed.
Nice service, good food, decent portion, very packed but wait wasn't too bad.
This place is extremely famous in the near by area - but there bbq is above average compared to mid west.
Last stop on the way home from salmon fishing. Always good no matter what we choose to get!
Outstanding place. Well worth the 40 minute wait time. Brought out of town family and friends. Everyone loved what they ordered. For me, the pork ribs is the signature item. But, everything on the menu stand on their own. Cool atmosphere and the beer selection was complementary to the food and the ambiance.
Still the best BBQ joint in the business this side of the Carolina border. The craft beer selection is Incredible, and having ordered the whole menu four our group, nothing disappointed. Same as I remember 15 years ago! Keep it going Dinosaur!
Maybe not the best BBQ I've ever had, as was promised to me, bit still very good.
Best bbq north of the Mason dixon.. bbq ribs that are perfected and brisket and sandwiches that cant be topped. DINO is Life.
I love this Restaurant, The wait staff was excellent, the food was out of this world. The corn bread alone will bring me back. I love the stainglass windows. It was a relaxing no rush meal. With the half seating I feel rushed sometimes. But not here We ate talked and really enjoyed the atmosphere.
Great food as always. Had to sit outside due to covid-19 restrictions . It was very windy and chilly for June. Aahhh good food.
Great place! Better than Rochester location. Had ribs, brisket, chicken, greens and salad for sides. All good, brisket was very good! Parking is tough but there is a pay lot across the street. Wait staff friendly and helpful.
Passing through Syracuse, we took our family here (6 of us) and we all loved it. The food is top-notch, the kids meal were great, and the server was delightful. The restaurant had unique decor which made the dining experience even more enjoyable. The kids keep asking to go back ... too bad it's 6 hours away!
I don't think that you can have a bad experience or meal at Dinosaur BBQ.
This place is great. Best brisket I've ever had, and the service was fast and friendly with a cool atmosphere. I would definitely go back.
Amazing BBQ joint! The ribs and chicken were standouts for us, but everything we ate was fantastic.
For $30 including tip we had a heap of food (brisket, chicken, ribs, coleslaw, rice and beans) and a soda.
Service was old fashioned and friendly. The place itself is really interesting. Walls covered with art and hand drawn messages. Great stop off on a road trip (worth the detour) and a must if you re visiting Syracuse.
Very good BBQ and bar. Would highly recommend the $10 briquet sandwich with fries for a good value and chance to really enjoy the sauses and food.
1st experience was phenomenal due in large to our waitress. Didn't need to ask for anything - she just brought it. I.e. never had to ask for a refill or extra napkins. Stopped by several times to check-in. Follow-up visits were ok. Definitely didn't live up to the 1st nor warranted the long wait. May be a good idea, if the wait is long, to have someone come by with a sample snack once in a while.
Great place for Bar B Que in Syracuse. Food is always good.
Great Food! And loved all the choices for sauces! You must try the fried green tomatoes!
Awesome decor and atmosphere. Great food. Highly recommended.
Love, love love the Dinosaur! Fantastic food, sassy servers, and oh so wonderful music...
Perfect Valentine date with my sweetheart!
I would say this is the best BBQ that I've ever found. And I have found lots of BBQ...
The food was great! I had the quesadilla with ribs. The mac and cheese is phenomenal. The fried green tomatoes and boiled shrimp were good. Deviled eggs and wings are excellent.
Memories of the original Dinosaurs we went to in college days!
Really good stuff. All of the meats were on point (chicken, brisket, pulled pork), with the chicken being the standout). The sauces were delicious. So much so that I bought some on the way out. The sides were all good as well (fries, mac n' cheese, chopped salad). There was a good beer selection. The service was friendly and I enjoyed the feel of the space.
If you haven't been here before, just know that this is one of the best BBQ places in the world. You should visit if you get the chance. It is usually busy, but that is because the food is so good.
A wonderful restaurant! It was clean and the staff were very friendly! The prices were decent and the proportions were good. I ordered the tres ninos. It was delicious, as were my sides!
Awesome service, food was delicious. Can t wait to go back
Food and service was top notch! Try the trio platter with ribs, brisket and pulled pork and the fried green tomatoes!
This place is almost always crowded because it's so popular. It has a tough, biker feel, which is no surprise given all that meat. However there is also an excellent vegetarian option, and the meat is very tender and flavorful.
Best BBQ around and great atmosphere - never disappoints! I highly recommend to locals or anyone visiting the area!
Friggen delicious omg. Staff is super nice and due to covid-19 they are only open for takeout and outdoor seating, and unlike other places ive seen this way: the tables are very clean as is the restaurant and all surrounding areas. It was a scrumptious stop!
I didn't get to eat the food trying to find a place to park sucks but it smelled AWESOME in the inside mm mm mm it smelled delicious.
I have a love/hate relationship with this restaurant. At times I feel I've received value for my money. Other times (like tonight) I feel I've thrown my money away. The ribs were overcooked, charred and dry. The rice (black beans and rice) was undercooked and hard. I threw the food out.
Yet again, I didn t get the extra sauce I requested. I'm sure I'll give them another chance in the future and hope for the best. I wish they were consistent. Btw I had my meal delivered through Doordash.
Food is consistently amazing! Attentive and friendly staff. I love the beer selection. Bbq sampler is an easy choice! Place is busy busy busy, but so worth the wait! Bar is first come first serve.
Always a gem. My wife and I drive through town regularly and this is always a must stop.
This place is definitely worth a visit. The B.B.Q wasn t the best I have ever had, however, the wings were AMAZING! Some of the best I have ever had. Service was good even though it was busy.
I had a meal with pulled pork, brisket and ribs and greens, it was great. Cole slaw was the only thing I didn't like. Great place
It took a bit long to get our food. But it was delicious and we had a great time!
Best BBQ in Syracuse by far, I love their Pork ribs and Brisket. They have great customer service and my favorite sides are mac and cheese and baked beans
First time to this location. Had the wings and a few beers. Great place
As good as always! Sad to have so few eating on site.
Amazing wedding venue. Upstairs at Dino. Food was phenomenal. With a outside balcony too.
Fantastic BBQ and one of the best local attractions in Syracuse.
My favorite spot for BBQ in New York. The downstairs gets crowded. I recently had the chance to attend an event in the banquet room upstairs. Full bar. Bathrooms. Enough space to hold 100 people with ease. Theme blends in with the one downstairs but less visually packed so you can focus on the event.
Food is always EXCELLENT! There is a reason the place is always mobbed. Good food, good beer. Get there early and plan on waiting because there is always a line. The fried green tomatoes are my favorite!
Best BBQ joint I have ever been to! This includes places in Florida! I want to buy a franchise to open in Toronto! This place is seriously good.
The best place for BBQ! I love the food, bands, beer & atmosphere. A cool joint to hang out at.
Too crowded- great for them I guess, but I couldn't get in the door
I love Dinosaur. Great Syracuse staple with good food and drink choices. It can get super busy so know you're most likely going to be waiting for a table at prime eating times, but you won't be disappointed!
Some big city blues coming from the speakers and a rack of bbq ribs to share made for a very satisfying "date night" for us both. V relaxed vibe, the service was still attentive. Monday night and there were almost no empty tables while we were there.
Best BBQ I have ever had. Better than places I tried when I lived in Cleveland, Ohio
It's the first time back since I moved away years ago and it's still as good as ever!
Amazing food. Great service. Fun place. Would go again and would recommend.
The food was amazing! We haven t had food this good since we left Texas. The macaroni and cheese was the only slight they have against them. It s a peppery recipe that just wasn t our cup of tea. Everything else was amazing.
It was some old guys birthday at the table next to us. Food was good.
Service was bad management was real bad the cooks need to get retrained they can't cook a medium burger thank the Lord I didn't order a $30 steak
Amazing BBQ! This has to be a stop of you are in the Syracuse area, or even upstate NY! Deviled eggs are to die for as is the mac and cheese and key lime pie. The house made sauce is spicey and sweet and delicious!
Went for lunch a few beers before the Cuse/Duke game. Ordered the portabello burger with no cheese or mayo and it was very yummy! Would recommend more for meat eaters, but veg heads have 2 or 3 options.
I must say that the food was superb. I will definitely come back without a doubt! The food was very fulling and affordable
Great as always except our waitress gave me a completely different order from what I asked. She offered to correct it I didn't want to wait for a new meal to be made.
Maybe it was over-hyped to us, maybe it was the dreary weather, but my wife and I didn't think anything special of this place on our way through Syracuse. Meat was fine, sauces were good, service was normal. Nothing over the top here for us.
Wouldn't turn it down if someone asked to go here, but wouldn't crave it either.
The food was really good. I had the BBQ Pork sandwich with their own brand of hot sauce on top. It tasted really good. The pork was well seasoned and the sides were delicious too. Their collard greens are sweet, so if you don't like them that way, get something else.
If you want BBQ, forget St. Louis.
So much better.
Who would think you'd find this in Syracuse, NY
Gotta go.
Good food cool atmosphere friendly staff decent prices always look forward to the next visit
I make excuses to visit friends and family in Syracuse just so we can go to Dino BBQ for lunch or dinner. My partner is a pescetarian (no meat except fish) and still loves to go here for the salmon or catfish and the delicious sides. Great food, great service, great graffiti.
They're food is good and priced well. But the take out girl on Sunday night is very rude. Busy or not, rolling your eyes and scoffing is not okay in the service industry. Their younger workers always seem rude.
Very impressed with the food! Our waitress was real nice and did a good job. We loved the music and atmosphere of the place. The hubby and son didn't like the Mac and cheese. Not something they would order again. Everything else was so yummy, especially with bbq sauce!! This prego is so happy now! :) We will definitely visit again!!
Ribs were ok. Wasn't falling off the bone and flavor was lacking. Sides were also average. Not sure if this was a one time deviation or quality has dropped over the years. Never had an issue in the past. Waitress was awesome though.
The food here was really delicious but really heavy. Loved eating it but did not feel too good afterwards. The hot sauce options they have are delicious. They have great beer as well. The atmosphere is really cool there are paintings by Jim Davis on the wall which is super cool, and a lot of other cool decor.
