I really dig they have outside eating options.
I come visit The Dinosaur when I get work done on the work trucks across the street at Walt's. Legendary food and service!

Good bbq, ok beer selection. Surprisingly tasty for the area, it doesnt seem like it would be a home for bbq!

From Canada and every time we are in Syracuse, we try to pop in - never had a bad meal or service! The salads are delicious and huge and the bbq is super.

This place was great. Two floor plus outside beer garden with live music. Food was awesome. College hangout spot.

They're realling missing the opurtunity to name all their menu items after dinosuars. Consult a paleontologist it's not that hard people.

OMG! Get to this place fast!! Crowded, excellent food. Loved it!!

Always a friendly staff and good atmosphere. The food is excellent for the price. Would recommend a weekday late lunch when it s less busy. It can get pretty loud and crowded.

Ran outta brisket
My 1/4 chicken was freezing cold. Waited about 20mins just eating sides for my waitress to come back empty handed

The five stars are definitely for the food. Central New York is not a BBQ hot spot, but this would be good anywhere. There side dishes are real stars too, with the beans being a personal favorite. My kids order the Mac and Cheese with two sides of mac and cheese.

One caveat, it can be very very long inside. If you've got noise sensitive folks in your group, consider eating outside if it's an option.

Always great! Atmosphere is chaotic but that's why you go there! I've been a fan for a long time.

My visit was only ok. Waiter was friendly but service was slow.

First time going. Drove an hour, only waited 15 minutes, and it was all worth it! Oh my goodness soooooo good!!! And everyone was really friendly. Blondie was one of the nicest waitresses we've ever had. Can't wait to go again!

Nothing beats the original! Great food. Great service. Best ribs ever! Always get the full rack so you can take home leftovers! I have been here sooooo many times my name is probably written in a dozen places and I ve never been disappointed

They do not work according to time. Not acceptable....!

The food and service was excellent. All of the BBQ meats we tried were very well done, with the ribs and sausage being the stand outs. The coleslaw was good, while the mac and cheese and corn bread were about average for a BBQ joint.

This place serves the best BBQ I ever tasted. Their cheesecake is amazing! Good beers and a great decor complete the perfect experience.

Wow! 1st time there. Great atmosphere, it was a Monday night, live music. Service was great, sat at the bar. Got a 2 meat combo was plenty to fill up on and superb... was going to ask for more bbq sauce for my St Louis Ribs but man, it didn't need it. Was so tender and the spices were perfect.

Love Dinosaur's! It never ceases to deliver the most amazing BBQ. We visit any time we are in Syracuse. My wife and I share the sweetheart full rack of ribs and it is way more food than we should be consuming. But Dinosaur is worth a splurge.

We went late so they were out of brisket but that's our fault for going so late. Food was superb per usual

I have eaten here for 20 years. But the food has really dropped in quality. Maybe it is Covid related. But I have eaten there twice in the last few weeks and it has been terrible. The sides are still great, but the ribs are like sawdust. Old, chewy, like beef(or Pork) jerky. Chicken has rubbery skin, and it looks like more of a prairie chicken. Small and scrawny. I called ahead to order a three choice platter. Asked for a double order of brisket and one of ribs. Told I couldn't do that. So I got chicken, ribs and brisket.. Surprise, surprise...I get a double order of the sawdust ribs, and prairie chicken. NO BRISKET!! I will not be ordering anytime soon. Maybe after this whole mess is over, I will be back....but very disappointing. John Stage.....Get your business back to where it once was... If not, the rep you have had for many years will not last.

Amazing food with great service! Ribs are an excellent choice or chicken.....both are very tender with exceptional flavor. The cucumber and tomato salad and collard greens are perfect side choices!!! The restaurant is clean with a friendly atmosphere and cool artwork everywhere!!!!!!

Let me tell you. Ive tried 4 rivers in Florida. Ive tried moes BBQ in colorado, ive even tried We Dat's chicken in New Orleans. But NONE of them compare to the magnitude of flavor and customer service that your recieve at dinosaur BBQ. They are legendary from the 60's for a reason. See and taste for yourself.

Phenomenal. Amazing food, atmosphere, staff, and music. I am a southern boy when it comes to my gut and this is some of the finest BBQ I have had north of the Mason Dixon line. Sides hold true as well. Greens, slaw and corn bread were all on point. Amazing live blues to boot. "Pig in, pig out". Well done.

A must when in Syracuse. Not a fancy place. But BBQ is awesome. And the place generates a great and upbeat vibe.

Outstanding BBQ!!! I shared the rack of BBQ RIBS and 4 sides with my husband. There was more than enough for the both of us. Delicious-ness!!!!!

Nice spot to grab a bbq meal. The prices are good given the amount of food you receive. We got seated right away which was a plus on a busy day, but the service was taking a bit to get order/food out to us. There is also no parking so be sure to use street parking or park at an adjacent block. Overall, great burger.

Place was mobbed, standing room only and over an hour wait for a table for 2.. went back to the hotel and used door dash instead.. food arrived in 40 minutes, nice! One of the combo plates was wrong, not a big deal - I saw how busy they were.. ribs were very dry and chewy, pulled pork was dry, brisket was okay if you've never had brisket in your life. Baked beans were straight up weird, mac & cheese was oily, cornbread generic, mashed potatoes ok.. ordered the shrimp + deviled eggs for apps and they were the shining stars.. I'd recommend going elsewhere for dinner

We ate outside in The Boneyard - the weather was perfect, the service outstanding, and the food (of course) amazing. We drove two hours to get there!

The food was delicious and service was good. I was expecting to wait much longer than we did for a table. The beer selection is excellent too. If you go to Syracuse I'd say this is a place you must go to.

The food is out of this world! The bad thing is a disgusting bathroom with two stalls for us females and no parking! Other than that, it's perfect!

It was alright. To be honest I am a bit spoiled with southern BBQ. I don't really get the hype. Super busy place. They do need more space. The sauce is great though. The fried green tomatoes are awsome.

This place is amazing. I regret not taking any pics but we were so hungry we just wanted to eat. Some of the best BBQ you'll ever have. Great brisket, the pulled pork and smoked chicken are amazing, as well as the smoked and grilled wings. The pulled pork poutine is a great app to start with as well. Friendly staff, and a cool laid back vibe. You'll be happy you stopped here

The Willow room is a nice place with a great porch view

Service was slow , took over a half hour to get our food , no pulled pork in the Cuban sandwich , and it was like warm , gravy had the cold film on top of the mashed potatoes . NOT A FAN

Best BBQ food in the country. I live in the south, and every time I come back to Syracuse, I make sure to visit Dinosaur because they blow every carolina bbq joint out of the water.

Best BBQ joint in Central NY. If you crave some genuine "southern" BBQ and you are in Syracuse there is no substitute. On a side note get the Macaroni salad for one of your sides, it tastes like no other!

Great food, awesome atmosphere, good service on a busy thursday night... stopped by on our road trip and would def return if we were in the area.

The band I saw was AMAZINGLY TALENTED. JESS NOVAK BAND!!!!Great time fabulous entertainment!
I must say.. Some of the shall we will say older waitresses need attitude adjustment or lesson on service, or jus plan common curdisy/respect/morals....ITSS UR JOB LADY! My friend n I were ignored entire time by one, intentionally...no IDEA Y!!! If she had a reason, or problem with a lesbian jeepers say so or leave ur job, RESPECT ALL. Do unto others as wish you would wish done to you simple. Not only did I do smoke of her job for her and took care of my friend and myself but also clean up some messages and was still ignored Had to huddle to bar every time or drink tho I was at table. Very rude ignored us LEGIT NO CLUE what her issue was. Gals behind bar... totally busy but totally cool cool! (Wonder y!?!?)

I went here tonight for my family event, upstairs. We had a wonderful time. The food was delicious and the staff did an awesome job. I highly recommend this place.

Syracuse location is just as good as the Harlem one. Great food, generous portions, kind staff. Definitely top 10 restaurants of all time.

This place is fun and very tasty. Everything made here, food was excellent. We has 'tres ninos' and a brisket sandwich. Fried green tomatoes were good too. We went at 2pm, on New year's day, and were seated immediately, however, business was brisk and larger groups were waiting a little bit.

As always, great food, great beer, great service (at the bar).

Loved the food and our server Kayleigh was the best...she brought the owner over and he was super interested in our impression. My KC hubby thought it ranked up there with the best of the Midwest. We will be back!

Used to be the best barbeque around. Still one one the best but i think they've changed their recipes a little. Also used to be a biker bar but now it's a more family friendly restaurant. I don't live in Syracuse anymore but whenever i come to visit it's a must go place. Hell we had lunch there before my wedding and took photos of the wedding party there.

My name is now on the wall! I loved every bit of this place. Food, atmosphere, awesome staff. Great place to eat and enjoy live music.

pros: the bathroom is gnarly from what I recall (think I was drunk)
cons: no vegan options which seems obvious but also it's 2020 folks. Pitter patter let's get at her

We were visiting from out of town and some locals recommended this place. They were right...great food. Excellent staff very friendly! If I ever find myself in Syracuse, I'll definitely go back!!

Awesome barbecue worth a trip. Can be hard to park.

Friendly, accommodating staff. We had two children with us. We got a table immediately. Delicious food came quickly. A favorite place for our family.

Yikes, not sure 1.5 hour wait should have been that long. Open tables EVERYWHERE. The tables that were clean took a solid 5 minutes each time to seat people. The food was great as always, but sometimes the Mom and Pop shops lack direction of how to turn and burn the tables.

I used to go here all the time in fact my mother and her band used to perform once a week, and it's not the same. Food is to rushed

I know it's a hometown favorite, but I honestly think it's over rated. There are tastier BBQ places and you're paying for the name.

We had ribs, chicken and brisket... so delicious! Best mac-n-cheese ever! We had a group if almost 30 and they accommodated us well.

Honestly this was some of the best BBQ I've ever had. The smoke ring on the ribs and brisket were perfect. Only complaint was that my corn bread piece was small. I should've asked for a larger piece.

It's a long wait but the food and service make it worth while.

I had the beef brisket. My friends had other BBQ items. All great including the coleslaw. Beer was cold. Hotel recommendation. Great place.

Not sure how I feel about the smoked taste of the meat, but adding their famous BBQ suace made it a bang.

Best BBQ outside of the South I've ever had, and I've had a lot. The ribs were excellent- sweet and succulent, and the chili was really tasty.
