Tried a sandwhich from Dinkel's new menu and I've gotta say "Two Yums Up". Got the Woolworth with turkey, melted cheese and topping it off granny smith slices. I like the fact they're locally sourcing everything - using Paulina Meat Market meats and nearby cheese. Good stuff.

What an experience! Get there early only on a Saturday to get a maple bacon doughnut. They have lots to offer a pastry person too. Drinks available for purchase. A whole case of other dessert items.

I've never heard of this bakery until today. Cupcakes were given to members of New Life Covenant church, all I can say is their Carmel cupcakes blessed me! When I'm in need of a Carmel cake you definitely have my business!

Foods not worth the wait, employees are extremely rude and unprofessional. Numerous times employees have been fighting behind the counter or in the kitchen. 90% of time we go the order is messed up or takes forevor.

I ve usually had great experiences with pastries at Dinkel s. However, recently I ordered 4 boxes of paczki this year and two of the boxes of donuts were not cooked fully. The dough was gooey and runny and not edible. There was also way too much filling in them for my liking. Very disappointed. I will not be returning here for paczki again.

Oh Dinkel s, how I love you so. Your breakfast sandwiches are divine, especially your Baker s Sunrise, and it s always a challenge to not leave with cookies and cakes galore. Love going after a rough workout at the gym. Great atmosphere, friendly service, nice space to sit and relax. Never go away!

Oh my gosh, this place is amazing. The cupcakes have the best frosting and the atmosphere inside is dreamy. They play 40 s style music and now I m thinking about the sandwiches, so good. I miss taking lunch breaks here.

Probably one of the only places where you can get German style pretzels that are pretty close to original. You also get great German style Christmas cookies.

This place is often super.busy. Make sure to pick a number once you enter so you don't wait too long.

Definitely worth checking out this traditional bakery which is almost running since 100 years.

I tried their brownies and their doughnuts. Their brownies are really well made, being mixed with chocolate chips and seemingly chunks of fudge. Texture wise, because of the mix of ingredients, at times they are thick and chewy, and others they are crunchy and a bit softer. So the texture is varied, as is the flavor, depending if you bite into a chocolate chip or a piece of fudge. I personally liked it, but I can see how some people would want their brownie to be uniform in both of these respects. The brownies alone makes coming to this place worth it. As for the doughnuts, they were average. Compared with other shops around the city, this place is somewhere below doughnut vault, but tastier than stan s doughnuts. Their cake doughnuts, esp the sour cream old fashioned, are better than their yeast. The icing on the chocolate cake was more surgery than chocolatey, but still fairly good. I would have given this place just three stars if I were basing the review just on the doughnuts, but the brownies are exceptional, deserving five stars, and so I settled on giving this place four stars. The sales associate that helped me was patient.

I grew up in NJ, when you still had a plethora of bakeries. Then when I was 14, I moved to Virginia & discovered that not only were there no bakeries, but you can't even find decent bread in the South. As time went on, the bakeries in my hometown disappeared, too. Now I'm finally in the greatest city in the US--and Dinkel's is right up the street with every goodie and bread you could want. It tastes like my childhood! Go to Dinkel's, because I already know what happens to baked goods when you let your bakeries disappear--nothing will ever taste as good! You'll get used to it, but in the back of your mind, you'll know "this bread sucks." If that's not enough for you, then guys, check out the blonde who runs the cashier...

I feel ashamed that ive reviewed so many places and left dinkels out. I never take pasteries, cookies, and donuts lightly its a serious thing ya know so when I say dinkels makes the best chocolate donut on earth I mean it, along with every other thing they make which are amazing, when friends visit from out of town this is my first recommendation.

If you haven't had Dinkel's Bakery you definitely must give it a try. If you don't know what to order, try the cheese rolls and the guava tarts.

This location is huge, so it makes the wait in line less long and stressful.

In a city with a lot of quality baked goods this is still the place to go for donuts. Sad it wasn't Saturday so I could get the maple bacon donut but the double chocolate hit the spot.

My fiance and i went in for a tasting for our wedding cake in October and decided on the spot that we wanted a cake for our June wedding. We were told by staff there that we should wait until we were a bit closer to the wedding to place an order and that we couldn't at that time.

We waited until January to place our order and when we called we were told that they were not taking orders for wedding cakes at that time due to them deciding what flavors they were offering for 2019, that they would know in a week and give us a call. We waited 2 weeks and received no call.

2 weeks later we called and were told that they were discussing prices and should have something settled by Friday. I asked that they "please call us back no matter what. " And was assured that even if a consensus was not reached we would get a call. Once again, no call back occurred.

We called again 2 weeks later and were told they are looking into our order and would call us back.. This didn't happen either.

Today, 5 months after our tasting and when we tried to place our order, we called and were told "we no longer make wedding cakes, we still make children's tiered cakes but maybe you should try somewhere else. "

If I'm being honest, the cake was good but I'll never go back based on customer service alone. And I'm making sure no one I know goes back either. I've worked in customer service and I've never even thought about treating a customer this way, let alone one who was ready to drop hundreds and hundreds of dollars on a cake.
