Dierenpark Emmen Review

Very nice park where both young and old can enjoy a day. We immediately took out a subscription.

We spent seven hours without boredom here. The shows are not very good. Otherwise, there are probably more snacks than animals, definitely felt. The 30.00 Euro admission are a lot, maybe too much.

Very nice spacious zoo. If you want to see many different types of animals, you better go to another zoo. Beautiful spacious accommodation and decoration is really super. Really disappointed that it is a 2.5 hour drive for us, otherwise I would have liked to have an annual subscription. Our children (6 & 8) really loved the indoor playground. Would have preferred to have stayed here all day alone.

We zijn hier in de winter geweest. In de zomer is het voor ons veel te druk. Nu geen wachtrijen en je hebt het park bijna voor jezelf. Prachtig opgezet en zeer vriendelijk personeel.
Een aangepast tarief zou toepasselijk zijn geweest. Je betaald de volle mep voor een beperkt aanbod. Een beperkt aanbod is niet erg maar voor de volle prijs?
Voor bijvoorbeeld 1/2 tarief zou het voor ons een jaarlijks januari tripje kunnen zijn. Nu was het een eenmalig bezoek.

We bought annual passes, we are here regularly, I love the zoo and it is always a new experience. I think the prices are okay, that you do not have to pay for the other attractions, for example. River ride, roller coaster, performances, etc. We may treat an ice cream otherwise we take us food. The kids like being in the indoor playground which is a dream but I recommend to think of spare clothes because you can play with water. The animals have a lot of space and look "relaxed". Animals can be seen up close and not "hidden" behind bars ... The zoo is really recommendable ...

Leuk en mooi dierentuin!
Interessant ingericht veel te zien. Maakt de dierenpark wel heel erg gezellig.
De achtbaan en onderwater attractie is wel heel bijzonder verrassend.
Eten is wel duur.
Heb aan de overkant bij sushi ya gegeten en gelijk boodschappen gedaan zo handig de winkelcentrum.

Unfortunately due to an accident with a truck on the road we have been in a traffic jam for a long time ....... we were only there at 3:30 PM. But in spite of that, we enjoyed it immensely and will soon go to see and experience the rest.

I went to Wildlands last Monday and I must say that the old Zoo in the city was more my thing. Here in the new garden you go to the pool of animals and you have to go the same way back and whatever you do you will end up at the starting point. No you have to be able to walk the way you want anyway. In addition, you can write and claim that it has become an adventure park (the price can in any case be compared to an amusement park, where, incidentally, you get much more for your money, you can spend a maximum of 3 or 4 hours there) have you really everything but also seen everything a day out of it is not possible and I think da families here also do not have the money.We were including the entrance (still had 25% discount) including drinks and food 80 euros lost) . The safari and the boat cannot be counted as "fun" which are essential if you want to see some of the animals. So this was once but then again. While, for example, I visit Blijdorp and Gaia Park several times a year. And Artis at least once a year. I therefore think that if you want to continue to attract people after this year (it is still new), the price must be brought back to normal.

Yes, it was a pity that not everything was open, but yes, this is understandable because of the carona. For a whole day of parking you have to pay 10 .

Last Saturday we went to WildNights again. This event has certainly grown since the first edition. Throughout the park much had been done about the decoration. Images were placed which were illuminated with blacklight, here and there smoke machines and of course many different colors of lighting. The inner person was also thought of with many different food stands spread throughout the park. Here and there extra entertainment could be found in the form of bands, blacklight face paint for the children and of course Jungle Jim.
Very well entertained and worth repeating. Really recommended

2 Sterren vanwege het park, erg mooi met leuke thema's (arctic, woestijn en jungle) en mooie decors . Voor een dierentuin misten wij de dieren wel. Er waren er wel, maar niet veel. 3D attractie was helaas in 2D vanwege kapotte lampen in 1 van de projectoren.
Onze jongste zoon kon helaas niet mee vanuit Den Haag vanwege een enkelband blessure, maar restitutie van zijn toegangskaart was niet mogelijk... We mochten de kaart op een andere dag nog gebruiken...!?! 1kaart vanuit Den Haag...!?!?Jammer.
Ook de horecaprijzen zijn behoorlijk aan de hoge kant.
Het park doet z'n best om in het rijtje van attractieparken in Nederland te horen, maar is er nog lang niet...

Beautiful spacious park for animals, old and young fun to experience !!

Extensive zoo ++ with lots of information, animals, and entertainment for smaller guests. There are clear walking routes and a safari round. If I had been the boss I would not have located the park on the edge of the center of Emmen, but a little further away with even more space.

Very different from normal zoos. It is a bit more expensive. (I'm not that good at reviews)

Allow a lot of visitors in so that enough distance cannot be guaranteed.

Really a beautiful zoo. Different areas such as a jungle area or the polar regions. Animals look good. You can sail a boat through the jungle, there is a beautiful playground for children, and you can feed the macaws so that they come to sit on your hand.

It is a lovely small zoo. The animals seemed to be satisfied. The zoo had also all other kinds of activities. We were there during the night as well, and there were all sorts of lights and a light show, which was very nice. We also could take a peak backstage. It was funny to see what happens in a zoo in parts where no visitors are normally allowed and what kind of machinery you need to keep a zoo running!
Finally, there was a fun 4D experience (movie) to visit and a small rollercoaster. All in all it was a fun day, even though it rained a lot!

On 26 -11-2018 almost everything was closed close few animals seen for the price much too expensive comes 10 parking money for me next time

Found very little to almost no animal outside, little open not recommended, there will not be x soon go. Baboons sat with them all pressed together in the rain, you saw that they were very cold, they could not go inside, and too little shelter. Plus 10 euro parking fees quite a lot in terms of entrance fees still there. If you compare with what you get in return.

Nice park too bad that there was a lot of rain, next time better.

Maybe the best zoo I've ever visited. While there are not many different animals, the enclosures are extremely large and beautifully decorated. Especially the tropical house is impressive.

Beautiful park. In 3 parts. The jungle, the desert and the polar region. Animals have space. The 4D movie is very worthwhile as well as the boat trip through the jungle. The catering in the park is not ridiculously expensive. In short, a must.

I really enjoyed being there once. But because of the distance of 2 hours and 20 minutes I would not do it again so soon. It is a bit too much travel time to be on the road for almost 5 hours .... but bin there and done that ....

If they do not very quickly provide a decent private parking space, it will not take long. Q park is quite far away and expensive. From there you are not properly referred to the zoo.

Nice zoo, but if you have or need a wheelchair you have a problem. There is no possibility to step out directly in front of the entrance, if you reserve a wheelchair you must walk a long way before you can take it with you. More consideration may be given to people with reduced mobility

Really nice experience. The Emmen Zoo has improved. In the past many more animals, but now the animals in an even better environment. Fortunately, the naked mole rats are still here and the prairie dogs. The little animals are the best! Difficult to keep 1.5 meters in some places, but there are far fewer people in the park than usual, so no long waiting times

A nice park where the animals now also have the "space" they no longer have the small spaces as in other parks.
Sometimes you are standing directly between the animals without noticing it, so you can take beautiful photos

Vandaag naar Wildlands geweest i.s.m. WNF, maar wij vonden het erg tegenvallen. Wij hebben voor vandaag 15 pp moeten betalen en dat vond ik meer dan genoeg, ik zou dus nooit 29 betalen om er nog een keer heen te gaan. Het is jammer genoeg geen dierenpark meer (wij hebben vandaag bijna geen dieren gezien) maar het is inderdaad meer een themapark. Het is erg groots opgezet maar je loopt veel, maar je ziet in verhouding weinig. In de oude dierentuin was bijvoorbeeld de vlindertuin echt 1 van de mooiste dingen en nu stelt het weinig meer voor, echt zo jammer, want daar hadden ze veel meer van kunnen maken (bijv. Bij de jungle betrekken en groter maken). De jungle is op zich leuk opgezet en eigenlijk het leukste gedeelte van het park, want bijvoorbeeld bij Nortica is weinig te beleven en dat heb je zo gezien.
En de sfeer ontbreekt, maar dat zal wel met de jaren komen, dat moet vast nog groeien. Echt erg jammer, want wij waren echt een Dierenpark Emmen fan en hadden daar een lange autorit voor over, maar nu zullen we er nooit meer komen.

Beautiful zoo but with few animal species. It is very spacious with lots of food and beverage but it does not really feel like a zoo. More like a nicely designed Walking Park with some animals, such as Mondo Verde.

Very nice! I do not understand the changing messages well, but everyone is entitled to his opinion. You have different theme parks and these differ from each other so that everyone can see and experience something fun. So I had a very nice day with the family and I love to go there again.

Funny to have seen but not worth repeating. Lots of amusement park, lots of restaurants, and very little zoo. The teenagers thought it was a bit boring. It was very busy, so that a meter and a half due to corona could not be observed. Well in the attractions, not in the loop and queues. Unfortunately. But in itself had a nice day.

Modern and tidy, only it is unclear whether it is a theme park or zoo.

Furthermore, there are many amenities, restaurants, snack bars, ice cream parlors, sweets and souvenirs, but all with high price tickets and limited staff.

Wildlands offers more than we expected. The lion presentation was canceled due to unclear reasons and the safari by train was fun but not exciting, but otherwise everything was arranged perfectly and we were always surprised by the architecture, the amount and variety of animals, the accommodation and the explanation and cleanliness of the park and the residences. We also met many friendly volunteers who proactively provided people with various information and were visibly enthusiastic about their task. Sufficient staff and clean tables and chairs in the restaurants. Plenty of seats and very reasonable prices. Enough and clean sanitary facilities throughout the park. Clear signage at the park and beyond and sufficient and affordable parking spaces. We go again, because it was not only beautiful but we did not see everything in one day and are curious what it will look like during other seasons.

Expensive entrance fees that are in no way proportional to what is offered! Few animals, little variation. Dated and a bit old-fashioned zoo.

It took some getting used to but it has become a beautiful park. Lots to do for children. We enjoy ourselves there all day. Don't walk too fast through the park, just enjoy everything quietly.

Very good park. Maybe it is far away, but definitely worth going to. Personally, I think it's better than Burgers Zoo.
