Nice zoo which is divided into sections so that you only have one way and also does not have the feeling something to miss :) we really liked it here because of the layout. And as the name implies it is not just a zoo but also has some action the cinema was also really cool the arrival of 2.5 hours were worth it and we can recommend the park the entrance fee is also okay.

Spectacular? No definitely not. Worth repeating? No .. Not even. Admission fee of 30 euros is certainly not worth it

This zoo is amazing and it's huge! You can spend a whole day there! We went on a weekday and it wasn't crowded, the animals seems to have alot of space to roam around and the facilities is clean. I would definitely recommend it!

Animals have space and clean accommodations. There is a clear classification how the animals in the wild also live and live together, such as Jungle, Antarctica, etc. Beautifully told about the 2 groups of elephants, the men inside and the ladies with calves outside. Had a great experience with the two kids in Wildlands. The park offers something for everyone, with the central theme being the animals. All in all enjoyed the park and had a very nice and varied day.

Had a great day out. Whether interweaving play elements in a classic zoo is a successful idea is debatable. It certainly worked for us. For the price we were disappointed. The Jungola with boats is fun, the roller coaster is a nice addition. I found the old zoo much nicer ..... the amount of animals is limited and the view through the rocks around some lodgings (which you can not climb officially) offer little visibility for young children. 3 quarters of an hour in the queue for the safari bus that ultimately brings nothing extra than walking around the savannah. In addition, the children in the middle, but by the height of the doors they see nothing when the animals are not on the hill. You are in a brace, so sitting on your lap is not possible. There are 3 'worlds' around a central square ... you always walk 2x along the same animals. With the polar bears the windows downstairs were so filthy that you could not see a meter away ..... There seems to have been really no account of the target group about some things. Young children and people in wheelchairs often have little vision. The first we found the rope bridges in the Jungola ..... where nobody seemed to be able to find the exit. People panicked because of the heat at the top and in the end we also used the entrance as a starting point by stopping new climbers. Climbing is great fun, but those emergency exit signs seem to indicate nothing ...... they really have to deal with that.

Emmen zoo was fun. This is only elephants and some dressed up mountains of sand. Absolutely no zoo anymore. Commercial adventure park between the flats. No African experience at all and far too expensive ...

It is not a complete zoo as before. I see the added value as an adventure park. You absolutely see animals in their beautifully simulated environment; added value for the animals. For us people you have to go with an institution to surprise you without expectation. Then it is an experience Park. Really pretty. Super beautiful.

Beautiful park! Good amenities and very clean. Also many nice eateries and options. Also buy all tickets online. Both entrance and parking tickets. Enter everything via QR code and parking is even on license plate so you can drive straight through and drive away again without a ticket.

Spacious, I think this park is better than at the old location.

June 2018: Pleasantly surprised by the beautiful layout, the vegetation, the spaces in which the animals reside. Maybe a few species of animals but certainly worth the effort to view. And you can just walk past the roller coaster if you don't want to get into it.

25 May 2019: Visited the park for the 2nd time. It was even better now that everything had grown even more. The animals' enclosures are large and beautiful. You can sit anywhere and enjoy yourself. Enough toilets available. Enough places with drinks, ice cream and food.
In short, highly recommended, especially now that it has become a lot cheaper.

Nice zoo with a new concept where the animals have more space. Unfortunately that is sometimes at the expense of the visibility of the animals. As it is a zoo, you do expect to see some animals closer up here and there. In some places inventive solutions have been chosen to get close to the animals without disturbing them. The train accident is a very nice concept. I hope that more creative solutions are found where the animals have the impression that they are being left alone, but where they are nevertheless visible to the public.

A nice informative place. Clean and well maintained, the animals are kept appropriate to the species and are well nourished. Would like to visit the game park again. But because of the distance and my age, almost impossible.

The animals have it very nice but the attractions do not need me. Better more animals and no attractions. A zoo does not need attractions, because the animals are the attractions. Entrance much too expensive. Jungola is done fantastically.

Nog niet zo veel dieren als ik had gehoopt maar ik verwacht dat dat wel berer wordt.

Terrible zoo / theme park. Biggest blunder of Emmen

I have been to a lot of zoo's. But this is by far the most beautiful. The idiosyncratic concept of the zoo makes the visit unforgettable.

Not super big, but sufficient and easy to do within walking distance. Beautiful and varied. Great fun for the whole family

A very nice park. Not all boxes with animals, but a real journey of discovery. If you pay attention there is a lot to see; Large ants that all collect leaves, large snails and very large bats. There are virtually no gates and gives the feeling that you are really standing among the animals. We also had to step aside for a fight between an emu and a walibi (small kangaroo and ostrich). And then the roller coaster ride is fun and goes nice and fast. This is not between the animals, but remote from the animals and is really a very nice addition for the children. Cutest zoo and discovery of Netherlands. The indoor playground is also great, children can have a great time.

Vandaag (8/8) naar Wildlands Emmen geweest.
We hadden vrijkaarten gewonnen waardoor we gratis entree hadden, gelukkig.
Gezien de dierentuin in de huidige hoedanigheid zou ik me zeer bekocht gevoeld hebben als ik de riante entreeprijs had moeten betalen voor 4 personen.

Toegegeven, het idee van de drie separate gebieden is weer s wat anders.
Wel jammer dat er niet echt lijkt te zijn nagedacht over meer logische wandelroutes, uitgezonderd Jungola moet je op de 'terugweg' een heel stuk van de route heen weer teruglopen.

Volgens mij is waren er in de oude dierentuin veel meer dieren te zien dan in de huidige situatie.

Het park is zeer zeker nog voor verbetering vatbaar.
Zoals t nu is was t leuk voor 1 keer, maar als er geen aanpassingen worden gedaan zal het bij deze ene keer blijven.

As a zoo and setback. Few different animals. The stays are beautiful. Staff was very helpful. The old zoo was less beautiful but more interesting.

Raad iedereen aan om met slecht weer naar de dierentuin te gaan.
In alle rust de dieren bewonderen.
Hoop dat er ook een rolstoelverschoningsruimte komt.

Mooie dierentuin met verrassende kleine attracties. Geen hekken en vrij los lopende dieren. Goed opgezette thema's, met leuk doorgevoerde details. Ideaal voor een leuke attractieve en leerzame dag voor de familie.
Enthousiaste werknemers, die graag meer vertellen over de dieren. Voor de kinderen veel klim en klauter plezier, zowel binnen als buiten.

Set-up is really nice, but needs to expand a little more. Little animals for such a name zoo.

Greatly enjoyed all parts of the animal world. It is a pity that the attractions (tour boat trip) were short and even 1 attraction closed. (1 star less) The park was also smaller than we thought and that was noticeable in time. All in all very friendly staff and everything is nicely set up and for that price a nice day out. To get there, in my case, from The Hague
