The collections are interesting and the scenographies well thought out. Special mention to temporary exhibitions.
The building is worth a visit for its architecture ... offbeat! I believe that everyone will have a decided opinion on this one: either we hate, or we like!

Architecture fascinating by its inventiveness, its unexpected passages in the immensity of the spaces of glass and metal, modern and pointed museology to educate itself in an interactive and instructive way, without tiring. Brilliant.

An impressive building with an impressive free entry for students. A variety of things to see to suit a variety of interests. I would recommend the stuffed animals, antarctica exhibit, and the penguins.

Superb architecture, the exhibitions are interesting, interactive, modern! Only the entrance to the museum is not very pleasant, the staff who take care of the passageways to the porticoes in particular

If you have kids it is free for them to attend as it is for all residents of Lyon. That is probanly why it was so noisy and chaotic in all of the exhibitions when we attended in July. If you dont mind kids running amok unrestrained by their parents/carers and you are fluent in oral/written French then you'll get more out of it than I did. For me the best part wss the architecture and the odd quiet moment to take in the view of the confluence of rivers and the city of Lyon.

I love

Superb museum! very interesting and modern permanent exhibitions, the Venenum exhibition is really to be seen ... enough to spend a whole day in this airy and modern museum. The little extra: the spectacular sunset from the bay windows of the museum!

The exhibits are superb with very comprehensive explanations and magnificent scenery.
Very good museum, once inside we travel through the world and through eras.

Museum with special architecture, including the collections of the old natural history museum. The exhibitions are well done and interesting to follow, also for children thanks to a certain playful side.
The structure also gives a nice view of the neighborhood and the confluence of the two water courts.
The work of development around the museum has been rather well done, the building is surrounded by a small park / garden very nice and ponds directly below the structure.

The tram allows access from Perrache but the problem of the entire district of Confluence remains the same.

Bilingual descriptions on everything, so very educational! The museum seems to be a collection of whatever artifacts the museum curators could get their hands on, so there isn't an overarching theme and the pieces in some of the rooms don't closely relate. For example you have Japanese armour next to aboriginal clothing, and a few yards down you have old cars, sewing machines, and African jewelry. However I LOVED the natural history rooms describing the origins of life and how life on Earth has progressed. They have cute videos that were entertaining, and thankfully lots of places to sit. You can get here by tram easily.

Great place!

I encourage you to take a tour.

The fundamental failure of this museum is that it does not educate - the permanent exhibitions present a random collection of items without logical flow. There is no story telling or learning. At best, it's simply a collection of curiosities. The architecture also disappoints - the sweeping panorama of the river confluence should be centre stage, but is visible only from a stairwell and a small roof terrace. It's such a pity that this museum is so poorly executed.
