Stumbled upon this by mistake. I was just walking past on my way to dinner and was greeted in. The showcase was all student art mostly anime/manga. Well set out, friendly people. Definitely worth the 30 min detour, would have like to have spent longer but ran out of time. Recommend if you are in the area.

Lots of rooms each is generally use to present a different artist. You can have your pieces shown and sold here. There is also a restaurant and the east gallery is on the other side (go through the courtyard and pass the cafe).

Alternative art gallery: it is a three-storey building where, in the various rooms, little or nothing known local artists exhibit their creations, photographs, paintings, manga, sculptures ... They are temporary exhibitions so if you are lucky you can find something truly valid, in any case the artists are always available to illustrate their works. The most interesting part, however, is the location itself: a small building, in fact, on whose facade a very particular construction of pipes is installed; on the back there is also a restaurant decorated with urban-punk style murals, where you can enjoy an excellent okonomiaki, preparing it yourself with ingredients of your choice or with the help of the girls who run it, very nice. There are many tourists but also many locals, especially students. There is also a bar where not bad coffee is served, in a nice covered garden.
Don't forget to take souvenir postcards!

cool little showcase area for local artists. has an indie vibe (which we like), and the place was decorated with fun, colorful murals.

there's no admission fee or anything, and, there's also a little bar/restaurant.

We hold a lot of small-scale solo exhibitions regardless of genre. Although there are also in other people's reviews, the atmosphere like a big festival of celebrations is casually and fun. Although it is divided by east and west, it is difficult to understand it is difficult.

Superb patio bar in the center of the sweltering streets of Harajuku. Come and have a refreshing beer and some fresh air. The small art gallery will keep you busy for no more than 5 minutes. And if you feel like it, you only have to walk 5 meters to eat okonomiyaki at the restaurant next door.

It is a space where you can freely move around and appreciate artworks. There are times when there are a lot of works that suit your taste, and sometimes there are works that don't fit at all. I think this is also fun. If you are interested in design, please drop by. Once you find a piece you like, you'll hear it whenever you go to Tokyo.

I think it's a wonderful space where you can meet various arts (illustrations, photographs, etc.) throughout the year.
If there are any artists or exhibitions that interest me, I will come as much as possible.

The building looks like an apartment refurbished. It's like a gallery space where students mainly open stores. When I went there, I felt that it was a part of the university's cultural festival, but I think there are times when I can meet good works depending on the timing.

The exhibition hall is EAST and WEST, the entrance is different so be careful.
It is a place close to Harajuku, but you can walk to Omotesando station if you pass the back of Omotesando Hills.

Just stumbled across the place whilst walking through the backstreets. Great little place full of interesting work across many disciplines. Love the quiet cafe/restaurant in the garden in the middle.

At first glance, many people visit, so I think it's a place where you can make new discoveries, both as an exhibitor and as a viewer. A place that beginners can recommend from either perspective. The okonomiyaki and lunch at the annex are also nice.

The interior is complicated and there are some places that are quite cozy, so I think it is difficult to enter, but since you can see various works on both the exterior and interior, I think that it is not bad for exploring when you have time.

Hidden in a quiet corner of Harajuku, this art gallery presents local artists and their work within a very stylish space. Though small, it s a great space to look through on your day trip to harajuku!

There s even an okonomiyaki restaurant caught in the middle of their west and east gallery, and an outdoor cafe that serves beer! Instantly one of my favorite places in Harajuku to get away from the crowds at Takeshita street

It is a gallery where young artists bring their works, but it is a nest-like and interesting space.
It's a space unique to Tokyo, an information transmission city that always displays something.
Because there are the East and the apartment, it may be a little difficult to understand the location.

Kind of an alternative style place, the kind of place you would tipically find in Berlin. There you can see several small exhibitions of different local artist. The place also has a really nice inner courtyard, beer garden style, where you can get several kinds of beers, Japanese and western. Behind this beer garden you have a pretty nice okonomiyaki restaurant (worth trying).
No entrance fee, met several nice people there: I would definitely recommend this place

Originally it was an apartment which we rented out as a gallery.
Since the flow line is an apartment, it is difficult to direct the production, but it may be reasonable to invite close friends and display.

Artists with different styles and techniques offer you in the various rooms that make up this building to discover their works. Of course, you will be more sensitive according to the creation (it is subjective). Do not miss the bar in the courtyard !!!

Quaint and cute. Was a little bit disappointed by the displays here, mostly just typical Japanese kawaii anime. Was hoping for more depth. However, I know the gallery is different from the talent it showcases.

About Design Festa Gallery

Design Festa Gallery: A Creative Hub in the Heart of Tokyo

Design Festa Gallery is a unique and vibrant creative space located in the trendy Harajuku district of Tokyo. With its prime location just a five-minute walk from Harajuku Station and nine minutes from Omotesando Station, Design Festa Gallery is easily accessible to locals and tourists alike.

The gallery offers a range of rental spaces for artists, designers, musicians, and other creatives to showcase their work. From small booths to large exhibition halls, Design Festa Gallery has something for everyone. The gallery also features a cozy café where visitors can relax and enjoy refreshments while taking in the art on display.

One of the most appealing aspects of Design Festa Gallery is its commitment to accessibility. Unlike many galleries that charge admission fees or have limited hours of operation, Design Festa Gallery is open year-round with free admission for all visitors. This makes it an ideal destination for anyone looking to explore Tokyo's vibrant arts scene without breaking the bank.

In addition to its rental spaces and café, Design Festa Gallery hosts a variety of events throughout the year that showcase different forms of creativity. These events include live music performances, fashion shows, film screenings, art workshops, and more. Whether you're an artist looking to network with peers or simply someone who appreciates creativity in all its forms, there's always something happening at Design Festa Gallery.

But what really sets Design Festa Gallery apart from other creative spaces in Tokyo is its focus on community building. The gallery has become a hub for artists from all over Japan (and beyond) to connect with one another and collaborate on projects. This sense of community extends beyond just the physical space; through social media channels like Instagram and Twitter, artists can stay connected even when they're not physically present at the gallery.

Overall, if you're looking for a dynamic creative space that celebrates accessibility and community building as much as it does artistic expression itself - look no further than Design Festa Gallery!
