Great funky gallery. Worth a visit. Support local artists
What a beautiful space for creators, the cafe out back at night is brilliant. Must see.
I felt that various writers were active, and I liked the tastes of seeing cute buildings.
I visited for the purpose of seeing the graffiti art "Mardi-chan ( )" drawn by Alex Faith.
Alex Face (real name: Pacharapong Thanh Lung, born in 1981 in Chachoengsao Province) is a famous Thai graffiti artist. Graduated from the Department of Fine Arts at King Mongkut's University of Technology. A leader of the graffiti artist group called "Souled Out Studios (SOS)", he is active in Thailand, where freedom of expression is limited.
You can meet Alex Face works everywhere in Bangkok. Since he came to Japan, he seems to draw some graffiti art in Tokyo. One of them is Mardi-chan in this gallery. This seems to be a 2014 work.
His work has been highly evaluated not only in Thailand but also abroad.
Maldi-chan is the baby of the third rabbit.
The anxieties of violence and social pressures surrounding weak children living in a big city are expressed in various Mardi styles. The "anxiety" is expressed by Mardi's unique face. The frowning face the newborn daughter once showed Alex Face is depicted as Mardi's expression of anxiety.
The term rabbit means that children are the victims of violence, just as small rabbits prey to large animals. The term "rabbit" is a metaphor, so it is drawn like a child in a rabbit costume.
The left and right eyes have different colors, and there are two colors, red and blue, which means that all humans have two contradictory things, such as "good" and "evil". It seems that there is. It represents human conflicts and contradictions.
The third eye on the forehead usually looks in a different direction than the left and right eyes. It is said that the eyes of this forehead are those who try to see what the left and right eyes have not seen or that cannot be seen. It seems that when you look at things, you should not be one-sided or superficial.
There is a restaurant called "Sakura-tei" in the gallery facility. Okonomiyaki shop. Near this store, there is a staircase that can reach the second floor of the gallery on the west side. Mardi is drawn on the wall of this staircase.
Next to it, another Thai graffiti artist's work is also drawn.
[Addition]
From December 23rd to 25th, 2019, the solo exhibition "Mute" by Thai artist Amann Inkspiration was held. Along with this, the works of Mardy and Mue Bon previously drawn by Alex Face have been erased (filled). Now it's a new work by Amann Inkspiration.
Cute place for artists to showcase their work. Easily accessible from Harajuku station.
A gallery where you can rent rooms of various sizes.
Despite the fact that it is far beyond Takeshita-dori, many foreigners come.
Whether the walls are thin or not, I can hear the sound of another exhibition quite a bit, and it smells pretty because there is an okonomiyaki restaurant.
You can use wireless LAN.
Amazing spot to visit in Harajuku! There's new artists every week/other week, so every visit is different. All kind of Arts, and you can discuss with the artists. Highly recommended spot!
One of my favorite experiences in the neighborhood!! We got multiple hand made souvenirs to bring back for friends and family. Make sure you grab a map so you don't miss a thing!
Awesome spot with rotating artists selling their works on all 3 floors.
It is a nice building located in residential area. This is a good place for students and new artists who need space to exhibit their creations!
If you are in Shibuya, you can stop by once.
Super super favorite place
If you don't get it, it feels too high, but when you enter, it's a free art space, and even if you take a close look, you won't be able to sell it.
I'm impressed that Harajuku is fashionable
Probably one of my favourite spots on the planet.
An amazingly awesome art gallery, beer garden, and bbq restaurant hidden away in the back streets of Harajuku
I was beyound impressed with the quality of art. The art on display is constantly changing. New artists come to display their work. Photographs, painting, jewelry, silversmith and much more. The treehouse cafe is fun for coffee.
Since the acquaintance was exhibiting, I went there, but it was good that I could touch various art.
This building is located behind takeshita street. It has lots of works made by underground Japanese artists. I recommend to visit this place, it's quite interesting. I loved it.
It's narrow and complicated. The content depends on the exhibition.
Wherever you go, there is a place where someone has something to do with exhibitions and events. If you want to meet an artist who has not seen yet, we recommend that you stop by if you go to Harajuku. You may be able to meet unexpected talents that are not yet known to the world.
Design Festa Gallery Becomes a Place for Artists to Express

From the smallest room to the largest room, there are 71 different exhibition locations available at the Design Festa Gallery, here we will be treated to various art exhibitions, especially for ART fans, pictures of anime paintings, photos of the past, which are extraordinarily beautiful, souvenirs unique and cute knick-knacks, we can even bring a Post Card home for free, even entering this place is free.
The International Art Event Design Festa was founded in 1994, with the aim of providing a place for all artists who wish to express their work. Four years later in the spring of 1998, the Festa Design Gallery was opened to the public. This gallery is for anyone and everyone. Where artists are free to exhibit and sell without commission fees. All works will be received at the Festa Design Gallery, Harajuku.
Happy visiting
A place where beginners artists and designers can have their own show. The place also have a great Okonomiyaki restaurant.
You can see the works of various artists every week ~
The place is lovely and full of friendly people. You can see curious things, buy some handcrafted artsy souvenirs or some bigger pieces of art, and the coffee area is not a hipster blah kind of place, so it's more about having a soul than a fashionable style. :)
Quaint little gallery space in a great area. Definitely a nice place to pop your head in and take a look.
The inside of the building was a little maze, and I was a bit tired to go to the place I wanted to go w
My sister in law did her exhibition with her friend here.
Each room in a building such as an apartment is rented as a private exhibition space.
To the second floor, take the outside staircase on the left side of the building.
If you want to see the latest young art works in Tokyo, I recommend you to visit. You can see various works of artists who are active like rough stones. Many artists sell their works. For those who think that it is boring with commercial products, there is also an advantage that you can buy the work without going to the festival. Admission is free, so you should be able to enjoy it quite easily.
You can get to the place without any hesitation by entering the side road on the back side from the front of the clock where you can find the clock at the Moshi Moshi Box information desk in Harajuku and turning a corner at the convenience store.
It is also a good facility for those who want to display their works. If you are willing to accept any genre and would like to hold a solo exhibition, please give it a try. Details can be confirmed on the site. I also have experience in exhibiting works.
Just saw this. I can get my name in JAPANESE. Guess I had better check this out. Had fun today. Some art is amazing. Worth the time to visit.
There are many small booths where you can feel free to touch art. There are various exhibits such as paintings, photographs, and clothing.
A really cool place with fantastic restaurants around, just a bit messy, it s hard to know where to go or what to see, but the exhibitions are wonderful and it s amazing that they let small artists to exhibit their work!
Nice and small gallery with interesting, local exhibitions
This place is a hidden gem in Harajuku! New artists every day selling/exhibiting their artwork. This makes for a good variety of different mediums/styles to see. Cafe inside is nice and covered.
A photo exhibition using old lenses? I did it so i saw it
Interesting local art with a cafe where you order and make your own okonomiyaki which is delish and fun. So worth a visit
It was great to be able to feel free and diverse works of indie artists.
If you are interested in the design side, please drop by!
Interesting space with many curious and thought provoking exhibitions. The place is funky and engaging, definitely recommend you to drop by if you are passing through the area!
It's a good place to communicate with artists. There is no one more than I thought.
Got recommended by Google Maps to check out this place near Harajuku and Omotesando.Turns out to be art gallery space with interesting exhibitions.Would definitely visit again!
An art gallery near Omotesando and Harajuku. There are lots of interesting exhibits and I'm looking forward to coming again!
We were kind enough to take care of you and the venue was an easy place to use. Thank you very much.
This place supports small time artists and sells their unique artwork. Also, free entry.
Many new designers gathered here to provide various exhibits
I think there is a lot of space wasted. On the other hand I did not find any "exhibition" that seemed to me minimally interesting. He is interested as a meeting point for new artists.
If you are in the area and want to take your head off, well, but in no case do you want to modify the route to go there explicitly.
There is a corner where you can smoke and eat and drink
We participated in the past two times at the exhibitor side.
From the exhibitor's point of view, anyway cheap things are attractive!
There are many rooms and many people come from people interested in art to foreign tourists.
Especially for those who will be exhibiting for the first time, many people come to see it, so we can recommend it considerably.
The room is painted white as a whole, so it's easy to layout as you like.
Also, the staff are also friendly people.
It is somewhat inconvenient that it is in a place difficult to understand a bit from the location of Harajuku, but it is still a place I would like to recommend.
If you are an artist, there are no commission fees to showcase or sell your art here.
If you are a visitor, this exhibit / gallery / museum literally changes overnight, it has such fast circulation.
The frost-yaki group is on display until December 3!
To see if you are in the area, artists and styles, there is something for everyone! You can meet the artists in the gallery. Go for a ride on the bar side, it's nice too.
Nice gallery. When we visited they had multiple cool kid brands.
2 buildings (east and west wings) divided up into smaller galleries filled with local art. There's also a coffee shop as well as a restaurant.
Simpel yet very nice! Worth going and also because the area around it is wonderful too.
It's nice to see many artists' works at once. There are also snacks and drinks in the courtyard.
This place was a great find, filled with weekly/daily changing artists, it was interesting to meet and see the art. Highly recommend. The food from the cafe is yummy as well
Nice gallery! I liked that it has many spaces to walk around in to explore
Unfortunately very empty art wise. Better to spend time at an art museum. Free admission tho.
Pure white gallery. The second floor, the ground floor can be fully open the front of the road surface, so it has an excellent sense of openness. Fully air conditioned. There are many customers from foreign countries.
