Derrick Concrete Cutting and Construction Reviews

Judging by all the other poor reviews, I guess it's on me for using this company for doing some drain sloping for our showers in our business.

Although I was able to renegotiate the cost due to them not lowering the drains as instructed in the work request and having to do it myself, i had to spend an additional $1600 (more than the cost of the job) to repair a big screw up on their end.

Not only did they not correctly slope the floor like we asked in 1 of our 3 rooms, it was actually much worse than the original state before we hired them. Our entire room filled with water and ended up damaging our brand new door frame. So after installing a berm across the floor to mitigate the water and door frame repair, it costed us an additional $1600.

As a business owner and someone who deals with contractors and business in general on the regular, the right thing to do on Derrick Concrete's end would be to apologize for the mistake, pay for the berm and door frame, take it as a learning experience and move on. They weren't rude by any means. I just kept getting told that someone was gonna get back to me on approving paying me back, and having to be the one who always followed up with long gaps in between hearing any updates. Now they have basically ghosted me, which I am not surprised judging by the comments I'm reading.

Poor way of doing business. If the folks at Derrick Concrete ever fall on hardship, or wonder why anything negative is happening to the company... This is why. It's called KARMA. I know I'm not getting my money. But what goes around, comes around.

Looking to hire a concrete company, I wouldn't say don't use these people, but be that the job is done exactly how you intended before paying a bill with them.

What a terrible company....

The way they treat there employees, they should be shut down! No appreciation no respect...
Do not use those incompetent, shady grease balls.

WE WERE TOLD AFTER 90 DAYS OF TRYING TO COLLECT MONIES THAT "WE WILL GET PAID WHEN THEY FEEL LIKE IT ". THAT STATEMENT COMING FROM THE GIRL ANSWERING THE PHONE !!
ED HAS GOT TO RUN HIS BUSINESS BETTER THAN THIS .

Derrick concrete just did a stamped concrete patio for us and we couldn't be happier with the result! It looks amazing! We have had to move our wedding to our backyard because of covid and we're scrambling to get it cleaned up in time. I talked to Mat at Derrick Concrete and he managed to get our patio poured the next day. They made every effort to make sure they got it done in time for our wedding. They worked so quickly and did an absolutely beautiful job. Thank you so much to Mat and the crew!

To be completely honest. Working at Derrick is a job, not a career.

We had Derrick come and cut a hole in our floor to get to the floor below. 7ft x 12ft hole in 8" concrete.
Their quote was the lowest (by a lot!) which is usually not a good sign, but they did exactly what they said they would!

The hole was cut quickly and efficiently. The invoice came in at exactly what they said it would even though there were some slight changes on-site on the day.

I will be using them again now I know how easy it is. Keep up the good work!

Been watching this company work a couple of doors down from my abode, and I am none too impressed.

Profanity. Arguing. Smoke break after smoke break...PRIORITY!!! one might say.

The lead hand shows a huge amount of disrespect to some staff, and the job has taken much longer than I believe it has had to.

But what do I know. Common sense aintaso common.

Keep under ordering that rebar...

Great services offered. Friendly, knowlegable staff. Great place to work.

Injured my back at work for these clowns. They sent me home with no medical attention. Didn't report my injury to wcb. Blamed me for going to a Dr days later. It's been almost three years. I've had back surgery and haven't worked a day since due to the severity of my injury. Been fighting to survive since as the wcb case is so completely messed it's not funny. Lost everything due to these morons. But.... I'm coming for ya as I've now retained a cutthroat lawyer who is going to bury these guys. The only consequences suffered are the injured workers. But not for long. Criminals

The employees are very unprofessional. I referred Derrick Concrete to a friend that needed some concrete done. And the employees were not a rating you would see here on google. Employees had dirty shirts with coffee stains, ripped clothes and some of them looked like they have not showered in days. They smoke on property without asking for permission, litter right after use of anything they eat or drank. Used profanity and named called other employees. This is very unprofessional. Would not refer them to any one else.
