Mental health services are very stretched, but all of the staff here work very hard and are very caring, always going the extra mile for their patients.
I have been trying to speak to my psychiatrist the last 6 months. Every time I get redirected back to my GP. Of which he can NOT do anything to try and help. As I am under this wounderful psychiatrist at st Andrews House. Who on my NHS paper work I am getting support from. However I have not seen this wounderful psychiatrist for over a year and every time I or my volunteer 72yr old retired 2ndry teacher. Try to get in contact with this Dr. Whom on paper work I am getting support from. However every time we call to ask where the support is. We get told to. 'Go away and call my GP'. Of whom cannot help me as I am under this wounderful psychiatrist at st Andrews House. Of whom I have not seen for over a year. Which within that time My NEAD and the side effects of it have exponentially increased both in size and severity. A direct result of the 'Wounderful Psychiatrist' redirected and non supportive professional help. Plus NO were to turn to to put in a complaint about the lack of professionalism that gose on within that place. Horrible. Only go there if you REALLY hate your self. Take care of yourself and don't go.
I preface this review in that I have had just one experience with the aforementioned; namely a walk-in initial appraisal.
The three members of staff I have interacted with thus far are courteous, professional, discreet and personable.
This first experience exceeded any expectations I may have had.
Update:
I continue to hold this service in the highest of regard.
For the service and support this system has provided me I am very grateful.
I and many others have had a terrible almost miserable time in our dealings with this treatment provider many time our liquid handcuffs one glove policy of treatment that has often resorted to almost bullyboy type practices in order to force one down a clearly agenda driven path we need to realise no longer works effectively in the addict who is at the bottom of the food chain
Really lovely people who are willing to support and help the best they can.
