Close up mount Rainier most beautiful mountain in the world!! Love the nice viewpoint
Highly recommend this scenic drive if you get the chance! We will go back whenever we can, you could literally spend years checking out all the beautiful (well maintained btw) trails and roads. It's just one unbelievably breathtaking vista after another, an awesome adventure around every corner!
Bring your own lunch and find a place to view wonders! We liked exploring easy trails along the way.
An amazing national park. Great views, easy access hikes for all abilities, and drive up access to paradise. They offer the jr ranger program for kids to help get then involved/educated in the park. Check out grove of the patriarchs for a beautiful easy hike
Trails upon trails upon trails. Great park, very well maintained, beyond helpful staff, absolutely GORGEOUS.
Take you re time! There is so much to see here and we didn t have a lot of time to spend. However it will definitely be a place that we come back too. There were a lot of places that you could stop and take in the views but it is def worth hiking about. The scenery is breathtaking!!
A must see. Great views of the mountain and great food.
What a beautiful park. Words really just don't do it justice.
Beautiful. I didn't know where I was going and didn't know what to expect driving up to Paradise. It was amazing I've lived really close to this for a while and never been to it. I didn't know what I was missing. If you live anywhere near Tacoma or Seattle and you haven't been up here you have to make a date to do that. It's worth every penny of the State Park admissions fee. It's really close to such big cities. Easy to get to.
Breath taking beauty. Lots of snow still on ground in June. Park just opened up in the first week of June. Some roads and trails may be closed. I can keep coming back here.
Amazing! Lived close by my entire life. Still is beautiful! 94 degrees still SNOW!
Beautiful. Go early in the day as the clouds seem to appear the later in the day it is. It's a long drive, but so worth it.
Saw a bear. Saw an owl. Saw a thing called a mountain beaver. My girl dubbed it the "prettiest hike she's ever done in North America".
Really set the bar high by doing Rainier first day of our week visit.
Only got to drive to the top of the mountain for a quick stop but it was amazing nonetheless. The drive up was beautiful and the visitor area was well done. There was a lot of people visiting and so a lot of traffic but we found parking pretty easily. From what we saw the hikes started at the parking lot so they're easily accessible.
Our day trip to Mt. Rainier was unforgettable and stunning. We went summer of 2018 when the smoke from wildfires in the west were pretty bad but luckily we seemed to be higher than the smoke and the mountain was still visible! We drove into the park and since we only had a half day to explore the Ranger recommended we drive to "Paradise.' So that's what we did. The drive past all the waterfalls, roaring rivers, mountains were just amazing. We stopped I'd say every half mile on our way to the mountain because there were so many spots to pull over and see something new. Took so many photos! Wasn't buggy as all for August but boy did the bees love me! Maybe my sunscreen or perfume? It turned into the joke for the day. It was quite busy when we got to Paradise where you park in the big lot below the mountain. You may have to circle around a few times for a spot. Inside the main building in a great gift shop, very updated and new products, some places get a little stale but not this one! Also a good food court with plenty of options as well as restrooms. We shopped, had a bite to eat and began the almighty climb! We didn't time it maybe hour and a half to get to where we were content with being high enough, here was a path to go further but we were hot and running out of water. The shade is your friend and was drastically cooler. We saw tons of wildlife! A deer, who wasn't bothered by us at all, several friendly chipmunks, and what we think was a baby porcupine scurrying with something in his mouth. We could hear and see in the distance a waterfall flowing off the mountain. Pretty wildflowers too. I wish we had binoculars with us. I carried a backpack it's a must and really wasn't uncomfortable. The walk itself starts as a paved path then turns into a mix of dirt and rocks. Make sure you have decent sneakers on, and they will def get dusty my blacks sneaks are now grey. The walk down was more difficult than the walk up. Your coming down from such a steep place it doesn't feel like its steep but when you plant your foot down if a rock or stone is loose you could slip. I rolled my ankle twice, no injury just a little startling at first so just take your time and you'll be fine! I'm 29 and was walking too fast! My boyfriend and I kind of held onto each other on an off walking back down or he'd walk ahead of me with my hand on his shoulder guiding me. This is a doable hike for young and older people just don't get too tired and be mindful of where you are stepping! The views were stunning, I have never seen a mountain so large so up-close! I'll never forget this day, and highly recommend you put this spot to your list!
I believe it's the prettiest mountain we've ever seen. Stunning, absolutely stunning. The National Park facilities are superb and they keep them well maintained. Must see if in the Sea-Tac area....
An island in the sky, a shelter for many critters, fresh mountain air. Watch for wildflower seaon- stunning! Great for XC Skiing also.
the skyline trail is an intermediate to difficult walk. you should have shoes that can handle rocky terrain and quads od steel. Its 6 miles of pure beauty
You must visit this beautiful place. So much to do. We did Mount Rainier in one day and our kids had a blast.
Mt. Rainier is awesome! I loved hiking there all my life.
This is one of the biggest mountains I have ever seen or been on. I was there when the snow was piled sky high. If this happens make sure you grab a pair of snow shoes (they are available at the visitor center). Other than that the sights are breathtaking and well worth the (partial) climb!
Mount Rainier is always a majestic sight, highway 410 leading to Mount Rainier is a beautiful scenic drive, make a day out of it you won't be disappointed
Just beautiful. Wide variety of hikes from easy to strenuous.
Just a short drive from Gig Harbor and your in the park. Driving up to the Mountian is absolutely beautiful. When you get to paradise great place a have lunch. Be sure to take snacks and plenty of water.
Beautiful, I make this drive all the time and it's always awesome, even if the weather isn't clear
Beautiful views over a large area! Trails are challenging unless you hike alot, but well worth it.
Mount Rainier was an amazing place to play and discover.
Everything to love about this beautiful National treasure!
Incredible National Park! My wife and I loved the trails, waterfalls and lakes! A must see for any outdoor enthusiasts!
I called Mount Rainier my Beautiful Girl the whole time that we were there... What a majestic site! We had super clear skies, super sunny yet cool days, simply the perfect weather to enjoy this spectacular view. I am so grateful that I got to experience my Beautiful Girl close up and personal... What a wonderful memory...
Its a great and place absolutely worth visiting. Ranier National park has many points but two major points are 1. sunrise 2. Paradise so photos pasted are feom sunrise point where a car can go upto 6000 ft above see level. This park has spectacular views, trails and great hikes.
The view is absolutly great !
And it's a nice place for hiking.
Get out and explore this amazing national park! Trying to capture everything to do on this review would do the park an injustice!
Enjoy!
One of the most stunning view of Mt Rainier and a must do in Washington.
Loved this place. Paradise is a must visit. The reflection lakes are also beautiful. Perfect time to go is end of the season in September, less touristy.
A remarkable, humbling place. Great trails and gorgeous scenery.
Of the 14 NPs I've been to, this was my absolute favorite and I only spent 5 hrs on one hike here. There's nothing better in this world then the sight of rainier as you're hiking up lush green alpine meadows. Sunrise rim trail/Burroughs trail was really good, moderate-strenuous.
A truly majestic piece of topography. Never felt underwhelmed. A true treasure for future generations.
I took a spontaneous trip to the mountain hoping to see the eaterfalls and walk the trails. Came across campers alongside the river, and found streams of ice cold fresh water. It was breathtaking. The roads are not car friendly, lots of holes some will cause damage to your car so I suggest an AWD SUV or. TRUCK!!! Half way up the mountain the road was closed off so I didn't get to go further i suspect due to Covid-19. Took these pics along the way. Perfect for a solo trip or with family and friends lookng forward to going back once it's opened up. 4 starts only because I did not explore.
Oh, to throw snowballs in July! This place is magical! You hike up a mountain and you get winter paradise in the summer. Cold weather fans NEED to go to this park for sure!
My favorite National Park! Love the temperate rainforest, the Carbon River, the seclusion, the beauty. The streams rolling down the mountain are so clean, I drank from them. Simply epic and tranquil
What can I say... It's Mt. RAINIER! So much to do and see.
Amazing experience. If you have 4 or 5 hours free and love to hike, check out the Skyline Trail. You'll get some of the best scenic views in the country.
Nice getaway for two days. For longer hiking interests, stay a day or two more. Views of the mount Rainier is amazing from the sunrise visitor center. Go early in the morning to see the peak. Popular trails are usually crowded. Long lines at visitor center cafes. Coffee options are similar to 7-eleven ones.
An enjoyable hike to paradise, grizzly bears mom and two cubs, black tail deer, marmot, and bald eagles. The glacier waterfalls were magnificent.
A park is always unique. Every one is it's own thing. We had a very good time. Lots of things to do.
It was really cool, the smoke made the views not as nice, but even through the smoke i loved it
Tons of fun hiking here. The weather really took a turn for the foggy that day though. I guess they say that you can never trust the weather here. Beautiful views though. I was told early summer is the best time to visit.
My best friend and I drove up the mountain last month. It was cold and wet but the park rangers were friendly and the trails and view were amazing. We will definitely be going back next summer!
After visiting many national park, mount Rainier still rated pretty high in my mind. Highly recommend the skyline trail at paradise where you will be walking so close to the glacier, in the field of wildflowers, and along the crystal clear streams.
This is one of our favorite parks to visit, been there many times.
Mt Rainier is Heaven on Earth! Don't believe me? Look at the pictures.
World Class Park. AWESOME place to go for either a quick visit or a multi day stay. I love driving down Hwy 410 on the east side of the park, where you don't have to pay an entrance fee to go through the park.
The Carbon River Valley is a bit of a different experience then the rest of the park. No views of Rainier from the valley, but the raging Carbon River and surrounding mountain ridges makes for some great views.
The big daddy Mountain! I use to love visiting Washington just for the view to this majestic landscape but now I live it see it everyday I walk out my front door! We always get the yearly pass and visit the falls and Paradise as often as we can. So many trails so much to learn about it. I highly recommend visiting during summer months to be able to view most of its breath taking views
Absolutely breath taking. God's glory shining brightly
Just the $30.00 fee is just a bit high as the annual pass is $55.00
Most.was closed for snow but what we saw was beautiful
Mount Rainier is a beautiful place to be. It's not far from any of the Pacific Northwest attractions (Seattle, Portland, Olympic National Park) and you should definitely venture out here if you are coming out to the PNW. Hiking was great here, we mostly hiked around the visitor center, but the views and landscapes from anywhere are all gorgeous. I would love to return again and would highly recommend this to anyone heading out this way.
Love the natural beauty of this place, and the care for it evident in how the park staff and volunteers interact with both the park and visitors
Great place to hike. If you have younger kids you can take on a some short hikes.
Absolutely breath taking! There are things anyone can get to and some require hikes. Check the weather and road conditions before going!
It was a great experience, very nice weather and some very steep hills. The place is very clean, but I took one star bcuz I felt like they could've added more signs throughout the trail.
Absolutely one of the most beautiful and breathtaking places I have ever seen!!
Beautiful area with excellent trails for hiking. Many choices for various inclines and distances. We did the big loop toward the mountain top. Great fun to be climbing over snow banks still there in late August.
Gorgeous park. Great trails. Plenty of areas for the whole family to enjoy.
Roads are super scary (great condition just has alot of steep turns and high traffic) otherwise the area was wonderfully maintained and great to explore. Bring food with you though, a small slice of kinda okay pizza is 5 dollars. Kinda tastes and feels like cardboard.
We love and enjoy the snow even though it was already spring on the first week of May 2017.
Absolutely beautiful in the summer. So many wild flowers in bloom.
Never got to Mount Rainier but took some great shots from Seattle and while on Route 5 South, to treasure. We would love to return and experience the mountain itself. Enjoy our pictures.
We got to visit Paradise Point. It was pretty cloudy and we were unable to see Mt Rainier. We still did the small hikes to the waterfalls. Super easy to do. It felt more like a stroll.
It has a lot of natural history and beauty. If you are able to hike even a little, it's worth your time to do so.
Got lucky with several days of clear skies and warm weather to enjoy this wonderful park. The pull off areas to enjoy the view and take some pictures are great. The trails are well kept and easy to follow with extra viewpoints along the way.
