HRE really does not care about student safety or other needs. The students who work there are the best though.
Meal plans are designed to suck money out of the students pockets and there is no grace period to cancel a meal plan & receive a refund of your flex dollars (upwards of $400 lost). I think the way around this would be to use dining dollars through Dining Services. Also, the water heater of the freshman dorms I lived in broke, and we were without warm water for two weeks during the winter. HRE is slow and reluctant to help solve problems with rooming and meal plans. If you can find a different housing option, don t live on campus. Finding a house or apartment with roommates is much cheaper.
Been to 4 different schools and never felt more like a middle/high school student dealing with these people. I m 23 years old and live at the Student Apartment Block 44. Never have I ever had housing staff just walk into my apartment without an notice of entry, also inform the day of that I had to move out without a notice before... until now. By the way it s not pet friendly even at a pet friendly apartment. So I m telling you because they won t, until it s too late. This is honestly the worst mediocre housing I have ever dealt with. Needs better staff.
Don't live on campus. If you do, don't buy a weekly meal plan (the 150 block plan is what i would recommend). Digging a hole in student's pockets is the only aim of the HRE. I'm moving out in spring and never looking back
They don t help you whatsoever. I needed something to be done ASAP, and they blew it off for weeks until I had holds on my account for things I didn t have to pay. I dread ever living on campus because they are awful.
Good for starter education. Relatively new and well cared for.
Attempted to bill be $175 for a slightly dirty shower curtain after the RA told me everything looked great at checkout, then charged me a late fee on it 2 days later. Avoid their shady tactics for shaking students down for a few more dollars at all costs.
The security people are so rude up there you go down and drop something off at the bin for Big Brothers Ben and they wonder why you're there dropping off clothes I don't like the service up there they give you and there's think they're better than every everybody else but they're a person just like you are they're so rude now I know why the family suing them for so much money
