Del Vecchio's Pizza Review

This is a wonderful pizza joint located near the ODU campus in Norfolk. The pizza here is absolutely delicious and the appetizers are wonderful as well.

Pizza is Awesome! Wait staff is super friendly. Accompanied our family and even helped us out with us bringing a cale for my sons birthday. Great Pizza, Great Service, and Friendly wish I could give it 10 stars

Best pizza in Norfolk hands down. Shrimp jammers are off the hook too!! 10/10 every day.

Good pizza. Nothing fancy as a restaurant. A little worn, but not surprising with it being against ODU.

We wanted to try a local shop to support them during this time and we've now been twice because we loved it! Tried the new York style specialty pizzas and they were perfect. We also ordered dessert which was so yummy. My favorite so far was the Italian lemon cake!

Eat there every 1st Sunday with a group of guys. GREAT food with excellent service and pricing.

I love giving patronage to small businesses. Today s visit really tested my patience. We sat before another group, they were greeted and drinks were served before my son decided to get up and get our menus. As they stared getting their meals my son finally got angry and again got up to give the person at the register our whole table order. My son getting annoyed is not a normal occurrence. He had Aspergers so I guess the lack of communication for a table and patron was too much.
The group was leaving and we still have not gotten our food. Finally, over an hour later we had gotten our dinner. The manager got involved and helped with the situation. I know he felt really bad. He let us know that we server was new and the rush was a little much. I get it.. I really like the food here. I order it for delivery a lot, but I have not had too much dine in experience. This made my 5th visit, so I didn t think this was normal.
I will be back...

That's even topping distribution on a pristinely even, tossed dough. Excellent balance of ingredients on the deluxe pizza. Although, veggies get watery in an oven, somehow the pizza doesn't get watery.

It s pretty good for a quick bite but some of the dishes aren t great. The pizza is good though!

This was the go-to pizza joint when I was attending ODU. They have an amazing stuffed pizza that you can get and their garlic knots and Greek salads are fantastic. If you get the Greek salad, make sure to get the creamy balsamic dressing. Every time I go back even years after I graduated, the quality has been consistent and the service is always friendly.

Restaurants style in the front. Order and Pickup in the back. Delicious pizza with several styles and different flavors. A must try for pizza lovers.

Best new York style pizza this side of the Mason Dickson line. They have some great 18 inch pizzas and they run weekly specials. Always ask what there specials are of ordering out or eating in as they have specials for both. The garlic knots are hardcore!!! I mean they are amphibious; you'll find them swimming in butter and garlic. The only cautionary advise is to avoid getting double cheese on your pizza...the janx will be way too salty in my opinion if you decide to go there.
This pizza is a cut above all others in the area except for the one place in the Chelsea area of Norfolk...hahahaha

I gave it a 4 star because around here, the pizza is not true NY pizza. The crust is bland and the sauce has no flavor. I think this place is the best you will find in the norfolk area. The Tiramisu seemed store bought but all in all best pizza in norfolk. A lot of customers so, norfolk, enjoy i guess

UPDATED.. from 5 stars to two. This place is delicious for lunch, but twice now (both times) my pizza has been undercooked at night. The dough is still dough.

Open super late, offers great pizza by the slice or a whole pie.

Not a fan of speciality pizzas but I ordered a Brooklyn- This OG Classic Italian pie is served up with fresh mozzarella, fresh tomato, garlic, basil & spices. Well when I picked it up I got a glorified quesadilla. I went back inside and apparently they changed up the menu. They asked if it was fine and in all honesty I m not going to waste another 20 minutes of my life waiting for a different pizza so I took it and left. Pretty disappointing and dissatisfying.

Best place for pizza in Norfolk. When you have to stack plates side by side for two slices of pizza, you know your in the right place!

Dollar slices between 2-5 pm, but make sure you have cash if under five dollars total

Wow, this place is great! Ordered the large meat pizza...best pizza we have had in a long time. Got the brownie for dessert....omgosh...amazing! Great service...so glad I read the reviews and decided to go here.

A great spot for a quick lunch and delicious pizza.

Being from Chicago (proper not the burbs) it was recommended that we go to this place. We know our pizza lol. However, we went after the NY style pizza which was spot on and great! Will have to try the Chicago style next time I am in town and see how they stack up...!!

Food is great. It's fresh and just tastes really good. Great customer service. Definitely recommend going here first before getting pizza or any other Italian food/dishes somewhere else. This will be my place to go for now on when I visit Norfolk.

This place is awesome and it's especially convenient for ODU main campus affiliates. The food is great, the service is excellent and the pricing is reasonable

Service pretty slow - but the food is out of this world amazing! I got their philly cheesesteak & fries and it was truly the best one I've had in ages. Cooked to perfection! Not over or under seasoned either. My friend got their spaghetti & meatballs, which was also quite good.

The pizza is delicious and they have 1 dollar slices any kind at certains of day and late night.

I was introduced to this place by a Chicago pizza pie connesuier. It is now one of my favorite places for a quick slice. Many variations of New York style pizza by the slice. Have not tried the Chicago experience yet, but that will be the next post.

1 dollar pizza is a good reason to drop in when you have cash. The pizza was a Brooklyn style. Very thin and high in spices. It was ok!

The Eggplant Parmesiano was very tasteful for frozen food. Though it was tasty, my bill ran me 15 dollars and change for that entre with a glass of wine, not too bad.

Sat down in a 1/2 busy time not full house tokk over 15 mins to get our drinks a Mt dew and 2 Pepsi's ordered a large Greek and a order of 6 garlic knots after 20 mins of waiting was told they had orders backed up in an average dinner service at 510 on a Sunday really I said yea and cancelled our order guess it's better for pick up or delivery but average Sunday not even a busy day with tables still open backed up wow no thanks I'm not gonna wait an eternity if you can't get one large salad and 6 garlic knots out in less than 20 mins not good God knows how long I would be waiting for a whole order good luck

Greasy and inexpensive, but surprisingly tasty pizza. Very popular with local college students, and people that work nearby.

$5 lunch special is great. Very filling and I am not a salad eating girl.

Very decent pizza! One of the servers there is extraordinarily good with our 7 year old. Beer options are OK. Probably my biggest criticism is the salads.. Pizza is great, especially the Stromboli, but the salads are incredibly boring and generic.

As a New Yorker, this is the best pizza place I have found since being in Virginia for a year!

Best NY style Pizza in Hampton Roads. Sauce is flavorful with thin crust. Best Italian sub in town as well.

Great pizza at great prices, this place is well known around the area for their garlic knots, NY Style Pies, and dollar slice specials from 2p - 5p every day. If you're in Norfolk and you enjoy good pizza, you have to stop by.

Given that this was my first time ordering from Del Vecchios, I was hoping for a better experience. The food was good but the service was terrible. I was told my pizza would be ready at 7:05, and I got there then. I paid and was told they'd let me know when it was ready. I waited for 30 minutes until I asked what was going on. A different employee went over and looked and found the pizza just sitting there on top of the oven for the entire time that I'd been there. Yes, it was busy, but it only was busier by having my stand around for 30 minutes.

Best pizza spot near ODU still drive from Chesapeake to enjoy their pizza! Kicking it since 2002 ahhh yummy
