Del Vecchio's Pizza Review

Del'vecchios was the best New York style pizza in Norfolk when it was downtown. now that it in ODU area it has lost all it touch. Pizza are made last with unskilled people. customers is nasty. Have no respect of it history of the Del Vecchios name and style. Tonight I had the worst pizza like pizza hut.

Love thier pizza and they aren't super expensive. Tastes like homemade sauce and dough.

It's not a fancy place but people are really nice and really good food. Love the pizzas.

The is the best pizza near my school's campus. I eat here at least three times a week. The pizza is always hot. The staff are always very friendly. The menu is extensive. The specials feel special the lunch-time 1-dollar slices are a great deal. There are two sides to the DelVec coin. There is a full service dining side and a (carry out) sit, wait, and dash are on the opposite side of the location. When you bite into a DelVec slice you will taste every ingredient. The pizza achieves the perfect balance of moist and dry. You can pick this pizza up right out of the oven and the toppings will not slide off. The non pizza item are well done as well. Fast service.

One of the best spots in Norfolk for Pizza. I prefer them over Cogan's. They sell it by the slice or you can get whole pies. The Chicago Style Deep Dish is really good. My only complaint is that wait times can be loooong, especially on weekends. They're serving up a lot of food (carry out, delivery, and dine-in) but be prepared to wait 30+ minutes for a single carry out pizza order.

Our 1st time here...Food was good... but a white couple came in after me and my husband and was offered to sit in the full service section of the resturant

Had the NY stuffed meat pizza delivered through Order-up. Took about an hour and a half. Holy baby jesus. This is amazing!

I've been eating at Del Vecchios for about 3 or 4 yrs, but I had the worst experience I ever had on yesterday. My family and friends went their to eat before the game at the Ted. The restaurant only has one waitress on staff at all times for the restaurant, so they aren't prepared for large groups. The waitress didn't take orders according to who got their first. Having been part of large parties at other restaurants, they encourage people to hurry up and place their order BEFORE the large party places their order. Needless to say, we waited FORTY FIVE MINUTES FOR PIZZA! PIZZA! Then, my sister in law dropped her phone outside the restaurant on accident. When she realized she dropped, she immediately went back to retrace her steps. Her and my brother asked the staff several times if they saw anything bcus they parked right in front of the restaurant and they were acting very suspicious. My brother even asked the manager if he would watch the tape to see what happened bcus they have cameras visible. He refused. Well, guess what? The phone was found INSIDE the restaurant behind a bucket in the corner by the door! Now, if the phone fell out of her pocket, how did it manage to be BEHIND a bucket in a corner? It wasn't broken. Screen wasn't cracked or anything. The only way it could've "landed" BEHIND the bucket is if it shot out of her pocket or someone put it there. Extremely suspicious behavior. The food is typically good, but the service was a complete turnoff. Time to find another pizza place in norfolk.

A hole in the wall spot that you might just simply drive-by, this is a New York style pizza place with great lunch specials that you simply must try.
At the time of this writing, there were a number of great $5 and $6 lunch specials that are definitely worth trying out.
The ingredients on the pizza were a very good quality, with a slight crunch on the crust and a freshness in the cheese that was delectable.

Those from NY say that this is what NY pizza is like. It's good to me.

I try to get different things when I visit, the food is always good. Next time grab one of their sandwiches!

Great late night pizza place. Love coming here with friends and grabbing a quick bite. Gotta get the stromboli! They also do dollar cheese/pep slices during the day. Good cheap eats.

Recieved a medium pepperoni after 40 minutes of waiting. It was barely warm, and I had to re-cut it. I called in for them to make it right, and they said they could send a soda which would take 30 minutes to arrive at my home 6 blocks away. I informed them we do not drink soda in this house, and recieved a slightly incredulous response. Was then offered nothing except apologies, Lackadaisicaly.

By college, ODU. Not many places to eat if going to see a game. Pizza is ok. Lasagna so so. Can get busy. Prices good. Parking on-site. Plenty of staff.

Nice pizza slices you get everytime you go. And the price is also well worth on what you pay. The best thing is you get either cheese or pepperoni pizza slices for 1 dollar between 2 and 5pm everyday. Also if you go to the regular dine in service area you get very good service with the best taste you can get. I also go whenever i am in hurry to have a quick bite of pizza slice.

I rarely give 5 stars but after stumbling across Del Vecchios and purchasing several plates for a no-notice dinner party... I was left completely impressed. Their food was like something from New York, completely delicious!
Reasonably priced.
Parking easy.
Staff was a bit odd... but generally friendly and helpful.

I ordered delivery from here two hours ago. I am very upset that the manager Jason decided to lie instead of being honest. When I called to check on the order he said and I quote "the delivery driver had to stop and drop an order off at the post office but he is on his way to you." He offered me a ten dollar credit since I explained to him that I have young children who are starving. 20 minutes passes and I called again and Jason then explains that he just spoke with the delivery driver and he is waiting at the post office for the workers to come out and get there food. All he had to do was be honest the first time and say I am trying to reach my delivery driver. When I called him out on his lie and poor management.... he told me to call orderup for my refund and hung up the phone. Very unprofessional to lie and very unprofessional management style.

DelVecchio's has some of the best pizza around! Got the Chicago style and it was awesome! My husband normally does not like thick pizza but I convinced him to try it and he continues to comment on how good it was. He liked it so much that he had more the next night! Their marinara/pizza sauce is THE BEST! I wish there was one closer but it is worth the trip for that sauce!

Nice pizza. I got a cheese pizza and it s great. They sell it by slice, which is awesome if you want to grab something quick to bite. If you are close you need to try it out.

I like getting 2 slices of pepperoni pizza and a small Greek salad. Perfect amount of food for me. I love seeing pizza by the slice places. They also have whole pizzas too. The person behind the counter is always friendly and nice, despite it usually being very busy and probably hectic for the employees. I'm usually in and out within 10-15 minutes. Love it

BEST PIZZA IN NORFOLK !!!! HANDS DOWN!! Don't debate this New Yorker on this. Prices are super great! Pizza is SO CLOSE TO NY I ALMOST FEEL LIKE I'M HOME!!! Friendly staff. Location is convenient. I brave ODU students, graduation traffic, and Ted Constant concerts to grab some slices from this place. They offer $1 slices (not just for ODU students but for everyone-shows that they care about the community they serve. My FAVORITE pizza is the veggie and the deep dish chicken ranch (with a Crush pineapple soda). You'll thank me later..no really you will.

Ordered tonight & they seemed a little busy. Delivery was earlier than expected and when my delivery driver (dishwasher) didnt have change, he went & got change. I really appreciated his effort. Next time I will do pick up & tip him again. He got a bigger bill than i expected so I couldnt tip him more. Great customer service!!!

Just discovered this place. Very good pizza and salads, friendly staff, fast service, and good prices. Worth trying.

I come here for their philly cheese steaks. They always taste really good, but they're also almost always missing a topping or have toppings I asked to not be added. They'll always fix it for you, but they don't always seem happy to do so. This seems more true when you get delivery vs going in. I've never had them come back because I'm happy to eat what I've gotten but this can be a problem for people who have allergies. The quality control in that aspect seems to be lacking. We've gotten pizza too and it's not bad, but nothing special. I had their alfredo a few years ago and it was super good.

Good food but delivery takes up to an hour and a half almost every single time. I only order a salad. It doesn t take an hour and a half to make one.

Authentic NY pizza. Enter in rear for take-out and by the slice. Didn't try front, where table service and alcohol is served. The Pizza is 100% delicious, the real deal.
