This place is horrible. I just recieved a bill for a procedure that I had done over 13 months ago for $882.50 because Deborah is a monster. Never receive a bill from Deborah I recieved them. I was sent to Deborah Heart by my primary care doctor. I went in for a racing heart rate and fainting. After getting an appointment I saw one of the doctors. My mother and I went through a hard time after my father passed and after I spent a night in the hospital for chest pain. After meeting the doctors at Deborah it seemed like things would be okay. I had to get a loop recorder implanted to see what was going on long term. I was seeing a cardiologist prior to my visit at Deborah so I had most of my testing done already. Deborah and I wanted to get this done as possible so they made an appointment for the implant. I didn t realize that they were sending me out of Deborah to another hospital. I went to the outside hospital and was told that because this was a Deborah doctor I was covered by Deborah and could get help with the deductible if I still owed one. The implant was done and it was glued shut the glue kept opening and oozing. I went to office in Manahawkin to have the wound checked because i felt it was not closing right. Fast forward the scar healed and looks like a wart on my breast, but it is okay because you can t control how your body heals. I went to the doctor a few weeks later he found something and gave my samples of a medicine that gave me horrible diaherra but helped all the symptoms. I checked with the insurance company and the medicine was not covered by Horizon. I went to the next check up and explained what the medicine was doing. He offered nothing and was talking about a sick sinus and other things that could be going on. I left the appointment with more questions than anwers. A few weeks later I spoke with my family and I had a nurse (cousin) and my mom come with to the next appointment. The doctor back tracked on everything be told me in front of my family. He offered no farer testing and even less in the answers. In my family we have history on heart problems and my father had a stroke by 39. Having no answers, feeling like a liar, I left Deborah feeling like a walking heart attack not knowing what was going on with my own body and now having something in my chest that now was pointless. I was completely awake when it went in and heard everything. I wanted a year to get help because I lost it. I saw the next doctor who doesn t know how to help and that okay at least they ruled out something physically wrong. I than saw another doctor who is removing it on Dec 19. The doctor who is removing it is open to the symptoms not just what the data show because this has been going on for years. Thank you for your time in reading this I want to pass my story to help the next person to consider someone else.

My son comes here for his diabetes and Dr. Vecchio is fabulous as well as her staff. However, my sister was brought to their emergency department and that is a totally different story. You wait and then wait some more. Yet the nurses on duty tell you nothing. I have total respect for the nursing profession but the RN's here are awful. My sister had to wait in the hall due to no available space yet once the rooms were available they still kept her in the hall. Dirty, unorganized utterly ridiculous. The nicest person in the area was the custodian. Do not go here if you the option. Find another emergency room.

Usually I would give Deborah a very good review. I know with covid 19 that rules are in place to protect everyone. But my husband has a hearing lost and can read lips only. But with the mask on that is hard for him to do. I am his caregiver and was told that I could not go back in the clinic area with him. As they called his name he was unable to hear them. If it wasn't for other patients he would have never been able to sign in at all. I should have been allowed to stay with him. He has another appointment in two weeks which he doesn't want to go to because he will not have me there to help him. How can I be able to stay with him and make sure he gets the care he needs?

My father went into the hospital for a routine biopsy of a lymph node. His surgeans Dr Eng and Dr Boris decided, without any prior discussion with my father, to perform a thoracatomy. He was 86 and had diabetes so there wasnt a chance he would recover from such a procedure. I asked several other doctors outside the hospital if this procedure was warranted and they all said the same thing NO!tHe had a living will stating he did not want to be kept alive on life support. The hospital completly disregarded his wishes and TORTURED him for several weeks before conceding that hE would never recover. BEWARE OF THIS HOSPITAL!

A horrible place, Been a few times with another person. Its dirty, the nurse are rude and unconcerned with patient care. We were there for 13 hours, never got a room this last time, we left and went to another e.r. They sat and ate at the nurses station. while taking about patients personal medical care loud enough that i(and everyome else) could diffrently hear it. I went to use the restroom and there was a urinal hat in the toilet, with a patients urine in it. Not to mention the toilet paper on the floor and bad odor. I asked for a meal for the person i was with after nine hours of being there. After around a hour and asking several times, they brought her a jello and a diet ginger ale(she was not n.p.o or unable to eat). I wouldnt go to this e.r. if my guts were hanging out and i would have to crawl to the next e.r..

I have been in Deborah hospital for over 20 years ...

I have been in Deborah hospital for over 20 years as a out patient. I am glad to meet wonderful doctor (Dr. Martin Lansang) and Nurse Tony who helped me today.
But the problem is the unkind, rude and ignorant attitude staff who working at the registration desk and Lab. Every time I come to this hospital they treated me like I m a Invisible person, most time they did not even say hello or greeted. With the patients in front of them, there are always several staffs busy with their own personal stories. I did complain to the staff coordinator a while ago, but nothing seems to improved.
All the staff who working at this hospital seem to be unhappy to work here or acting like work for free.
Rather, volunteers are more friendly than people who get paid.
If it is not happy to work that much, it is better to vacate your seat. People who are more sincere and prefer to serve customers are looking for a job.
Many patients' insurance companies are paying a lot of medical expenses, and it is clear that patients will never want to be treated like this.
I hope the staff will recognize these problems and fix them, As soon as possible!!!

Good services but the organization and the wait time is beyond ridiculous. Had an 8:45am appointment, arrived at 8:20am. Did not get checked in till 9:15am, it s 9:45am and have not been seen. It s a shame that this facility isn t as organized as I anticipated.

Deborah saved my husband's life a couple of years ago. He still sees a cardiologist there and had been extremely happy.
It can be difficult to speak with anyone on the phone but they always call back when you leave a message.
We're lucky to have them right up the road.

I contracted MRSA at Deborah 9 years ago when I had a difribulator implanted..I had been going to the pacer clinic for a couple of years but they treated me like iIhad the plague.. they call you a VIP, make you sit seperate from everyone else, behind the nurses statuon.
I stopped going as it made me uncomfortable..
The low battery warning went off and I needed to have a generator change..7/2/18 was surgery and I'm having a lot of pain.. I called to get an appt, they let me see a nurse, was getting more painful and tried to get an appt with the Dr. They make the appt and after getting there, they tell me the nurse will be in.. NOT the Dr. I thot i made the appt with.
Dr was called and showed up within the hour.. as got to the door.. he started saying "you never told me she was VIP, now I need to put on this gown? My coffee better be okay when I come out !"
I'm not sure if he was trying to be funny, but this is the reason im not thrilled with Deborah !!

I had 33 stents and a triple bypass done in De. T...

I had 33 stents and a triple bypass done in De. The cardiac physicians had given up on me and told me to go to pain management to help me live with the ever worsening HEART pain I was having. Perhaps the pain was from another source other than your heart was what I was told by some physicians here in Dover. I saw a commercial about Deborah Heart and Lung and called to see about getting an appointment. That was the best phone call I ever made. Everyone treated me like I was special, starting with the lady that answered the phone and ending with the cardiac surgeons. These people were very knowledgeable about the heart and helped solve a problem that had been ongoing since 1991, the last 15 years. I am know back to my healthier self with all things considered, and am a very active 60 year old grandma. I would never go to another heart hospital, regardless of their reputation. Deborah Heart and Lung Hospital was then and will continue the hospital of my choice.

(update at end) Back in the 80's my father said it was the best most friendly hospital he had ever been in, He was inoperable, he had a aorta blockage in his lower extremities, but had never had a real heart attack.
I am happy to read that it is less common today, than it was then.
(update) Since my last review, I have had the misfortune to be a patient at Deborah Heart and Lung Center, because of my health only to find out after all these years, my father was absolutely right, "Deborah is" the most friendly and helpful hospital I have ever had the misfortune to be in, only because it is never fortunate to be a patient at any hospital.

Deborah is the best Hospital I have ever been to. I can t thank them enough. They have some excellent staff working there. They are very organized and they take great care of their patiences. I had open heart surgery in December 2019 and then another surgery last Friday and they took such great care of me. Everyone is so nice and friendly. They listen to your concerns and accommodate you. I love using their patient portal it makes things easy for me if I want to see any reports or appointment dates. Whenever I have any problem they get back to me right away.

So far treatment is going very well, no complaints about that, but operator for main hospital is very very rude. Actually started yelling at me when I asked him a simple question. Going through a very stressful situation where my girlfriend is in the hospital on our anniversary because of her heart and he has the audacity to be rude. Probably isn t the first time he s been hung up on for having an attitude.
