Flavors were good. Only the whole 5 course menu is only asked once if we want something to drink. Service was very mediocre. The dessert was a bit small. You could eat it in one bite. Was it really worthy of a star? Certainly not. Pity.

Again delicious lunch with delicious combinations of flavors. Always a party to come and eat here.

The food is okay and it actually ends there. It's certainly enough and you won't be hungry after the 6 courses. Unfortunately, we do not get the feeling that we have eaten dinner at a 1 star restaurant and the associated prices.

The service was fine. The chef also took good account of our specific dietary requirements and presented good alternatives. Unfortunately, this is not yet the case everywhere and because of this the Karpendonkse farm gets a pass from us.

Five-course glory. Matching wine, cheese, port. We will probably do it again.

Flavors were tasty and in good order.
The presentation was very disappointing compared to the photos of the dishes on the internet.

We had a Groupon 5 course menu. It was delicious and looked wanderful. The ambiance was also very nice. The service however could have been a little better.

The last reviews (tripadvisor) are not correct. Gave someone one star. Food was superb, staff nice and competent. Had a social deal that makes creativity a bit less than usual at a star restaurant, but still a treat to eat.

A great dinner in a great location! Mixed reviews on the internet initially made us doubt something about a dinner at De Karpendonkse Hoeve, but everything was far beyond expectations. Here you will have dinner at a unique location with a view of the park and the water in a homely atmosphere. The staff is very friendly and will make you feel right at home. Luxury but without too much fuss! The dinner with excellent chosen matching wines is very worthwhile and continued to surprise. The kitchen is classic with a modern twist and international inspiration. The fact that we had dinner here with a voucher for holiday auctions did not detract from the experience. In short, definitely worth a visit!

Small park, in the middle of the city but once among the trees you will not notice it. And is enjoying nature. Lots of geese.

Wow! Surprising dishes, originally presented, and also delicious! Very friendly, sympathetic service with good knowledge of the range of wine. A cozy atmosphere. Nice view over the park! We will definitely come back for a great night out!

Nice, upscale restaurant offering high cuisine. The restaurant is situated in the middle of nature and resembles a big estate. The food was carefully prepared and tasted really good. The staff did a wonderful job waiting at our table and explaining us everything. Overall a wonderful place to spend an evening and experience the culinary journey.

We had dinner last Friday 30-11-2012 at the Karpendonkse Hoeve with two. Friendly reception. Started with an aperitif Kir Royal whose demand was sweet, medium or ordinary. We opted for medium. Very little creme de cassis (even smaller than a thimble) just a droplet also not served in a flut glass. Basically a Kir Royal with champagne (otherwise Kir with prosecco or other bubbles of white wine), however, we have not seen the price on the menu. Opted for a four course dinner, given the choice we did not know if we still had room for dessert after dinner. But were allowed to decide this later. Ultimately perfectly eaten and a cappuccino to finish. When paying and checking the voucher it was assumed that a 4-course dinner per person would be 59, incl. Dessert instead of finally enjoyed 3-course dinner per person 49, - Here an attention was drawn up by the person where we settled. There was also on the bill for the Kir Royal per glass 13.50 so for 2 people 27, -. We think this price is really absurd. This makes the chance of coming to eat for a 2nd time by no means worth considering. Feeling that a price has just been made for this. The ratio of these Kir Royals is totally lost especially considering the minimal creme de cassis. Unfortunately ! Despite having a delicious meal, the price of the 2 aperitifs and the incorrect preparation of the bill, this did not give us the feeling what we had thought to eat here.

We expected to go to a formal restaurant with one Michelin star. What struck us most was when we asked what kind of wine to go with the dish. The answer was: drink what you like. We certainly expected a recommendation. So the waitress offered us the wine list. We then had to wait 30 minutes for this, because there was only one wine list. When the wine list was still not there, the waitress decided to pour a wine to our taste. We asked for a half wine pairing, they didn't, but every glass she poured was 4.25 a glass. In retrospect, this was 8.50 per glass ...

The food was really tasty. Nothing to complain about. Only by our expectation, we were amazed by the informal attitude of the waitress.

You don't expect to come across a seven-course dinner at a Michelin-star restaurant at holiday auctions. Search for yourself. But that brought us here. And it was really fantastic. Fanciful dishes. Very tasty, very friendly people and a beautiful view over the park.

It was a super evening. Delicious food, nice friendly service and a nice ambiance.

With 8 people being food, good service with nice owner! was previously asked if there were any allergies or things you really want to eat out, there was also taken into account. Being vegetarian, it was tasty, but not filling. Where were the other meat (filling) I got nothing extra protein or carbohydrates, this was very unfortunate. After 6 courses I was not really full. With some extra rice, beans etc this would have been easy to prevent. The others had all eaten well and were satisfied.

Last night we had dinner here for the first time. The food was delicious. Got a suitable wine with every course. The service was very friendly and gave the evening a warm atmosphere. I recommend it.

After reading good and bad reviews, we wanted to put it to the test ourselves.
Bought a 7-course menu through holiday auctions.
I had emailed to have this for lunch,
And they agreed.
Arriving at the restaurant it was only possible to have a 5 course lunch menu
take.
She wanted to make the portions a bit bigger and we agreed.
The food and wine pairing was decent.
It was not special and we have not noticed any bigger portions.
We liked the sitting and the view.
Paying the bill had taken into account that we had 5 courses instead of 7 courses.
The coffee with friandises was not counted.
All in all we had a nice afternoon, but price quality was only just sufficient.

The overall experience was good, because everybody was really nice and polite and energetic, but the food was not as good as promised. Really small portions for a high price.

Really not worthy of a star. Very moderately eaten. We often eat in star restaurants, but this was below standard. We really expected more. Operation was nice but cover from the right and swipe from the left and they certainly have not heard 'forward', apparently yet. The clothing of the ministry was certainly not neat, own clothing that had known better times. Later that evening we talked to other guests outside in the parking lot, they had the same experience .... luckily, it is not just our experience. In short, an experience richer, money and illusion poorer.

Brought my girlfriend out for dinner here. It was quite a bit more expansive than I had anticipated (especially the drinks which were 75 on their own... For 10 half glasses of wine, and some water/coffee... But if you're willing to pay that price, the food is creatively put together and tastes excellent.

During the vegetarian restaurant week, visit 4 people, 1 of which is a vegetarian, various appetizers + 5 courses. Summarizing; what a disappointment.

We (a group of 4 people, different ages) love good food, pleasant ambiance, friendly atmosphere and above all a lot of fun. We were therefore very curious to hear that the Karpendonkse Hoeve participated during the vegetarian restaurant week 2018 because many places (also at 'level') are still struggling to cook vegetarian (exciting) food.

Reception was difficult from the start; waiter did not speak Dutch in itself no problem only from the beginning was very distant and it remained uncomfortable and very distant. We were escorted to the table and even before everyone was seated we immediately asked what we were drinking ... from this moment on, the service remained very stiff, often with empty glasses, at some point we took water ourselves.

The food was generally very disappointing. One appetizer was a surprising combination of flavors and textures and the dessert was really delicious. The rest (a few other amuses and 4 courses) were very disappointing. We found all 4 taste (combinations) unbalanced, some dishes were even bland, the dishes were not challenging or innovative, something we certainly expected at this level. Again, it should be noted that an appetizer and dessert were surprising and delicious; these therefore provide 1 'extra' asterisk in the assessment.

The rest of the evening; service, food and general atmosphere were very disappointing or were sometimes even called 'bad'. All in all very disappointing, especially at the level where the Karpendonkse Hoeve should be .. Too bad.

Visited this star restaurant with my wife on Tuesday evening. What an experience that was. From arrival to departure everything was perfect. Very friendly and attentive service, delicious dishes, 5 courses. Beautiful view and an attractive ambiance. We will certainly repeat this. Really recommended.

Very good eatery. The service is one of the best I have experienced. Just happened to be here because of holiday auctions, but definitely worth it. The food is worthy of the Michelin star, although I would dare say that there is better quality in Flanders, albeit without a star.

Don't be devastated. Many cold dishes that have been ready for a while, not really clean (you really can't even wash those windows !!!), champagnes that are on the map are not in stock. No not highly recommended.

The Karpendonk is nowadays full of Groupon and other coupons. For that they offer a perfect price quality. If you pay the full price, there are more interesting stars in Eindhoven. A new chef is coming. He has a lot to offer. Curious!

Fantastic restaurant. 30-12-2019 Eaten here and made it an unforgettable evening. Dined with romantic live music to usher in the new year. The service was very friendly and the food absolutely delicious. In addition, we received a wine tasting that made it extra cozy. Afterwards seen many stars on this clear night and proposed to my future wife. A dinner to remember!

It's a complicated story. We ate there with the Groupon, offering the 5-course meal at half price. The restaurant maintains a one Michelin star for a long time, and this review tries to make a sense of that. The service, throughout, from reception to departure is impeccable. Professional, cheerful and informative. The ambiance is faded. It looks like it was a chic place a couple of decades ago, but now the lustre is gone. This is somewhat compensated by a nice view to the park in front. The food had all sorts of ups and downs: the amuse-bouche was just bad, the lamb dish was superb, and so on. The general feeling was that not only the decor but also the menu needs a serious update. I can see why the Michelin star was given on the first place, but these days, when the Netherlands is teeming with young creative chefs, it's going to be tough to keep that coveted status without some serious reworking of some aspects of the restaurant.
