Efteling in the winter

Efteling in the winter
Completely different experience than the park in the summer
They take the winter theme all the way: fake snow on the trees, frost on the street lights and open fire places to warm up

Lovely park. One of the best options for children around the age of 3. A lot of rides where they can go on that are not too scary and can awe at the magic of fairy tales. For adults there are some nice rollercoasters as well!

Beautiful place with a variety of things to do. Awesome coasters, more chilled dark rides and the play areas to keep everyone entertained.

A great mix of rides you had to queue for and others you could just walk round without waiting so no one got too bored.

The food is also much better than any park I've been to in the UK.

I could spend days here without getting bored, it feels magical and more relaxing than theme parks normally do.

What a joyful place for you and for your child. Many rides and amusements in different levels.

Buying the ticket online can be a little bit cheaper.

Try to come early or else you need to wait too much on rides (~60min especially for popular ones such as Baron, Python and The Flying Dutchman)

To come with car can be easy but consider cannot find close parking spot to the entrance.

Overall; come and enjoy!

Amazing!

at the Covid 19 period, less than half of visitors..makes the lines bearable , even in a very hot day. The attractions are great, you know it...I wish they could find away to incorporate other languages beyond the Dutch in the fairy tell garden and make it more inclusive. All in all we had a great fun day!

The best place for adult and children who love classic tales and automats. My 2 years old daughter enjoyed the day as well as we did!! The negative point is the food inside the park is really expensive!!!

My Dutch friends told me this is a must go for the kids, so we went for a day trip. Our kids had a such great time there! We managed not even half of the park in one day, for sure we would go again.

However the catering service could have been better, not sure if I am asking for too much for a Theme Park.

Why? A couple of reasons:

Why? A couple of reasons:
1) After to COVID-19 crisis the staff refused to refund the tickets, completely ignoring any enquiries.
2) Upon re-opening, the resot charged extra for all those who had purchased on-site hotel tickets. A "re-entry fee" as they explained. Are you cancelling? No refund.
3) Multiple racial incidents by staff making comments to guests and one involing a child with autism.

In conclusion: this place needs new management. As it is now, you are very likely to lose your money or pay for hidden fees, and if all goes well, be racially abused.

very good for kids and so enjoyable for the whole day. I would have to say that beside only the Baron, there is no extreme rides here so if you are with big kids try the Walibi park, or else they will most probably get bored very quickly. this park has many themes for the small kids who can enjoy the stories off all the children fairy tales.

Lovely theme park with a strong focus on animatronics. Various adrenalin type rides and plenty of attractions aimed at younger children.

Star attractions can see waiting times of around 40 minutes unless you plan your visit for less busy times.

There is plenty to do and see that will keep you entertained and busy for all day. One day may not be enough to see and do everything.

The most magical place ever, the traditional fairy tales make for brilliant rides and a truly enchanting fairytale forest to walk through. I would recommend this over Disneyland etc any day, the attention to detail with Efteling in showing these tales from Hans Christian Anderson is fantastic. The hotel is an experience in itself, with a board game on the table in the family suite and the red shoes themselves in the wardrobe. Even the breakfast is magical, with cupcakes and pastries adorned with wizards or wolves on the icing, or toadstools made out of whipped cream (see the photo below!!)
There are incredible places to eat in the park itself, with all kinds of cuisine including Turkish pizza stands, Italian dishes in the Pinocchio restaurant, elaborately decorated ceilings and play areas in the Octopus restaurant, tiny Poffertje pancakes with delicious toppings (see photo with apple and caramel), and Polles Keuken pancake restaurant with sweet and savoury options (see make your own sweet kids pancake in the photo). These are just a few of my favourite, and the rides are so well done - even when standing in queues there is always music and decoration related to the ride or land you are in.
The best place to go for a fairytale escape (for kids and adults!)

Really pleasant experience. We stayed in the village for a few days. The cottage is clean and equipped with all the necessities. The beds are comfortable and it's a pleasant short walk in the woods to the entrance of the theme park.

There's a very wide variety of food in the park to choose from and the price is very reasonable.

The rides are fun and nicely designed for families. The efteling mobile App helps allocate your time wisely for queuing and navigate in the big park.

Most of the live performances/meet and greet are in Dutch but it doesn't matter too much.

The Caro show(performed in English) is also great. We were taken by surprise by the quality and value of the show. My young child was in awe the whole time...

We will highly recommend Efteling to friends and families.

4 days in the Efteling, it was great! We've had the best weather one could ask for. Wasn't too busy, maximum waiting time was 45 minutes. But an average of about 20 minutes. Love 'VogelRock', rollercoaster in the dark. It's also great to see the theme of the Efteling is in literally everything, great theme designing. For me thus is the best themepark in the Netherlands.

Queues queues queues. We visited on a Monday (as our school had an inset day, and Dutch kids were supposedly at school) expecting it to be quiet, but the main half dozen rides all had queues of 35-50 mins from around 30 mins after opening all day. That s not feasible with kids aged 6&8, so we only ended up riding one of the big ones. There are no pre-booking options.
The rest of the park feels a little old fashioned - lots of it is just for looking at rather than experiencing/riding. The shows aren t frequent.
On a very hot day we couldn t find any drinking fountains - the staff directed us to basins in the toilets. Four appealing jars of water with fruit slices in turned-out to be decorative in one of the cafes! Similarly, most of the water features around the park are not interactive - more than once my kids asked why they couldn t go in the fountains (they eventually found one in the maze).
The accompanying hotel (Loonsche) is of Travelodge standard (4-5 choices for dinner, bland burgers being the best).
Overall very disappointing - my kids said they didn t want to go again when asked.

Great theme park! They have some really nice rollercoasters. The storytelling for most rides is worked out throughout the smallest detail and is incorporated even in the line leading to the ride itself. The latest ride Symbolica is nothing less than a magical experience.

We have been going here for years from our daughter was a year old. It never disappoints. Much better than Disney Paris. An exciting day out. Constant new rides and always a full, exciting day out for the whole family.

Efteling is a fairly land, the theme park is overwhelming with excitement, memories, fairytale and experimental rides you can't get enough. My friends and I had a great time choosing the best rides and learning. I learned that the fairy tales we learned at school come to life at the park. We also had to do a treasure hunt and our team got the third place. What made our day more exciting was that we were learning and having fun at the same time in order to balance the equation of live.
My conclusion was, yes the park is a great place, but visiting it once a year is great achievement for me because memories of one day last forever.
Take your children and loved ones and enjoy the park.

Superb place, superb staff.

Superb place, superb staff.
Our son was not well and staff were so helpful and drove us to doctors and came to take us back.
Efteling is a major must for family day out or for the longer stay.
Lots and lots to do and see
Big thumbs up

THIS PLACE IS MAGICAL. BEAUTIFUL IM EVERY SINGLE WAY. It's a must visit in the Netherlands. Tourists shouldn't only visit Amsterdam or Rotterdam when coming to holland. Its wonderfulllll

It's definitely one of the best amusement parks I've ever been. The eye for detail to uphold the authenticity of a fairyland, the incredible upkeep of the flora, the level of service and the amazing rides make it a park that's both extremely enjoyable to children and adults a like.

Lovely theme park! Absolutely loved the rollercoaster. I've tried almost all of them, except for The Baron. That one was just a tad bit too scary for me! I have to say that my absolute favourite rollercoaster is Joris And The Dragon. I've been on it twice in a row and I can't wait to go back again!

Absolutely amazing. Our children aged 10 and 11 loved it, I loved it! It beats Disneyland Paris in all departments (we have been there 3 times). There are better rides, generally shorter queues, better food and much better staff. The whole atmosphere is great. We stayed 3 days 2 nights which was enough to see the whole park and for the kids to do enough of each ride. It has a good mix of rides, Baron for the thrill seeker to a fairy tale forest walk and you don't finish every ride by exiting into a shop! Alot of this is in Dutch but you can follow it and my childrens experience was not dampened by it. We are planning to go back in the next year.

An amazing place for children and adults alike. Take at least two days there. TIP: book yourself at the Efteling hotel and you get two days at the park for free (the check-in and the check out days).

Very nice and very entertaining. Great for kids and grown up .
Too pricy in my opinion; if you want to enjoy it all, you need 2 days. But than becomes really expensive.
Since the price, I find it unfriendly to have also the patching to be paid.
Good option to spend a day away from usual routine.

I highly recommend you go there at 10 am (opening hour). Otherwise you can't able to visit all part. Very interesting and high level secure. Don't forget to watch water show at the and of the day ( 8 pm.)

I wasn't sure what to expect but I was more than happily surprised. The staff are friends and speak a minimum of three languages, English being one of them. There is lots to see and do and caters for those who love fast rides and those of us who don't. The surrounding areas are so clean, beautiful and well looked after, it's worth going just for the views. The fairytale land is wonderful, though don't expect to hear the story's in English but you can work most of it out and its all part of the fun. Need a minimum of 2 days to cover everything. Ques are not as bad as other famous resorts and there is an app you can download which let's you plan your day and shows the waiting times for rides. A couple of extra you need to get tickets for, like shows but they are free to get but limited. They cater for wheelchairs and prams. You can even get two different types of child prams so if they get tired they can be pulled round the grounds while resting. Lots of food choices. Though main meal after 6pm has to be booked in advance and fills up quickly. The grounds close at 6pm and they do a good water show everyday. We'll worth a visit.

Good place to spend your entire day, offers attractions for all ages. Have A LOT of parking space. ( You can recharge your electrical car while you are in the park ) The food that you can buy in the Park is rather bad, so best to bring some lunch.

Overall a pleasant experience. The rides were fantastic, especially the Baron. However, the lines were quite long and I'm not sure the hour wait was justified considering how short the rides actually lasted. Food inside the premise was also at a very reasonable price although they do allow food from the outside. Perhaps more rides could use the booking system (like on the Python).

good amusement park in a nice area near Rotterdam....

good amusement park in a nice area near Rotterdam. Perfect for family. Slightly over priced tickets if you compare it to Europa-Park, taking into consideration the opening time is one hour shorter.
Nice rides for both children and adults. In summer, waiting time is up to 50 minutes for the top rides and less for others. Variety of shops and restaurants inside. Car spaces are available and organized. If you are planning to visit this place, I advise you to buy the tickets online before you go to save time. One day is OK to spent in this park.
Main negatives: the park opens at 10 am instead of 9 am! The car parking is over priced, it costs 12.50 compared to Europa-Park Germany ( 6), Phantasialand Germany ( 5), and Gardaland Italy ( 6). In addition, there were no professional live shows.
Have fun and enjoy your time there.

Lovely, lovely park. Great ambience, great service, great rides, great view everywhere. If you ever have the opportunity; make sure to check it out! (Check their website to see how busy the Efteling expects a certain day to be. You really don't want to go on a very crowded day)

Very nice parc, the areas are pretty much sorted on age or kind of thrill you like, wich makes it also perfect for the bit more mature people who don't like to have children running around them. Haven't been here for a few years now and they have some cool new rides. It wasn't too busy aswell wich was very nice (there is no special holiday or something in the Netherlands at the moment of writing).

And about Corona in this time because it's inevitable, they have made really nice screens in every line. With perfectly visible lines and blocks where you're okay to stand in, also lots of places to sanitize your hands, and extra toilets to maintain more distance at those places. I think they did really well on it.
