My son was hit with a baseball in the back during practice, i called ER and checked him in on our way there. We were taken right back, we saw MD right away, and x-ray was done, which revealed fractured scapula, sling was applied and we were on our way home in record time. In and out! Wonderful service, A++++++++++++

Out of three, this was absolutely the best hospital birth I have had by far! The entire staff was exceptional and I felt that my family was very well cared for, as if we were a part of the Davis Regional family! If I ever needed to use a hospital again to give birth, I would choose them! Thank you to the entire Labor and Delivery team!

My husband went in to get some help from their behavioral unit. I've just got to say that they are the rudest people I've ever seen in a hospital. That includes every where else in that hospital. We are just thankful for the very few nurses out there that actually do care. The ones that didnt got asked questions and they just wanted to look at him and laugh and walk away. Another one was so nice and said we'll take good care of you and get a shower, whatever you need. Come to find out, they never showed back up and never got him what he needed. Pathetic. I do not recommend taking your loved one here for anything needed because they will not take good care of them. If you have someone needing any kind of help. I'd look into other hospitals even ones with a behavioral unit that is miles away before taking them to this one.

When I first visited here a while ago, the doctor was nice. The second time, the doctor and nurse were very nice. Unfortunately, the third time I visited I encountered an African American Nurse Practitioner by the name of Greg that was out of this world rude and nasty! The nurses acted like that I was doing them a favor being there. Yelling at patients who are in ER and sick should be looked into and banned if possible!

Low budget horror flick! Doctors appear to be bottom of the class and the nurses are a joke. Waffle House could provide better care. You are risking your life by walking through the doors. LITERALLY, IT IS THAT BAD! My bed had blood all over it. There was a dirty toilet in the corner, and I am not sure the sheets were clean. My 3 year old son got more attention from the doctor than my limb that needed stitches. (the doctor doting on my son is another issue and ANY DECENT ORGANIZATION would have already noticed something is creepy.) So there you have it folks! If you care anything about yourself or your family drive by HOSPITAL OF HORRORS and find a real treatment facility!

I have been a patient and been there numerous times for tests, scans, lab work, etc. Each time I received suberb service. My mammogram there have been the best ever. I recommend Davis to everyone and I live in Rowan County. Thank you Davis for your excellent service.

Avoid this hospital at all costs!!! I was in a motorcycle accident where I hit my head on the pavement very hard. I was taken to Davis and after they finished their assessment, they told my family and I that I was good to go back to work. The problem here was not only was I very dizzy and disoriented but I couldn t remember anything minutes later. To this day the only memory I have of the accident or this hospital is what my family told me. Yet they felt it was fine for me to go back to work and operate heavy machinery. My family, knowing this was not ok, took me to another hospital where they said I needed to stay home for two weeks in bed with little to no stimulus because I had a severe concussion. As it was the next day when I woke up i thought it was three days prior to the day it actually was, and didn t understand why i felt very drunk and hung over at the same time. I will never go to Davis ever again. I wouldn t send my worst enemy there. Had I tried to go to work the next day I probably would have gotten in an accident and killed myself or someone else. Thank God my family took me to another hospital.

My girlfriend came in with kidney stones and told them she had been vomiting blood and was sent home. I wouldn't advise anyone to go there. I would not send anyone there even if I hated them.

This place has a great response time in the ER. This is the only place I take my kids when they are sick. They also have a great behavioral health unit an staff that really care about their patients. Great place to go for all your medical needs!

I have been to this hospital many times and had my share of bad experiences (everyone who lives in Statesville knows both of our ER departments are typically pretty useless, regardless of which hospital you visit), but last night really takes the cake for the last few years' worth of visits. I had to go late last night for SEVERE kidney pains. I am pregnant and was also having some minor pelvic pains as well, but this pain is almost unmistakably kidney stone pain. Upon arrival I was given morphine and zofran without being told until afterward what I was given, and then after four hours of ultrasounds and testing, they came back with absolutely no answers and no way to treat the pain. By this point, the morphine had worn off (mind you I was taken to my room via wheelchair because I was in so much pain I could no longer walk), and I saw the ultrasound myself and physically saw a difference between one kidney and the other, but they blatantly refused to help me in the slightest. They admitted to finding blood in my urine and still dismissed my pain completely. I left in the same condition I arrived in, but this time they made me walk out unattended, while the pain gradually increased back to its original levels. I was diagnosed with a completely unrelated infection and abdominal pain. I visited for flank pain and got an official diagnosis of abdominal pain. No possible explanation, no solutions, just made me leave, pregnant and in massive amounts of pain. If it weren't for the fact that my OB/GYN only associates with Davis, I'd never even consider going back. Do not waste your time or money if you're in real pain. They will dismiss you without any form of treatment or even answers. Not worth the thousands of dollars in medical bills!!!!!

Do not go to the place for their maternity services. it is awful! There is only a handful of good nurses. The doctors are great but the nurses are so lazy and careless and get nothing done for you! also numerous nights they won't take your baby in the nursery because of their short staff, making baby and mom suffer after having surgery!

About 6 months ago I saw the male African american p.a. I was running almost 104 fever.they asked me to do a urine sample and discharged me with a " virus" without ever even removing urine sample from my room.my virus turned out to be a kidney infection and stones which was misdiagnosed but could have been prevented by reviewing the urine sample.today dec 18 unfortunately I got the same arrogant rude p.a. who knows nothing . After 3 hours of sitting in room with not one nurse coming to check on me.i was discharged without the doctor ever coming in to give me my results .I had to ask why and request for a dr to tell me my test results.im home now feeling just as bad as when I got there .not even my worst enemy I would send to this place . Vets office treat their patients better......update: after all this time we went back here really assuming there was no chance in getting the same dr.my husband got bit by something which i thought was a possible spider.he was in pain and vomiting.and once again...same dr.he told us my husbands pain and vomiting was not related to the bite. I knew in my heart it was so i asked again about the bite.his response was that he does not specialize in insects so he had no clue. He was very smart toned when saying it. I understand drs dont specialize in bugs.but im sure in school a dr is taught to recognize the effects of certain bug bites.i just really hate that this hospital has such an arrogant dr working for them because it used to be a decent place to go and you could get seen faster than most places.but now i know he still works there id rather just sit and wait 4 hrs at iredell.this dr should not have a medical license .he is going to end up misdiagnosing someone with a virus because everything is just a virus to him and its going to end up costing someone their health or life

My husband has been at Davis Regional Medical Center two times in the last week. The care he received was exceptional. The nurses were always right there when he needed them. Anything he ask for they would get it for him. The Doctors always had time to answer questions. Everyone involved in his care was awesome. The rooms were spotless. He liked the food .Thank you for taking such good care of him. I will recommend Davis Regional Medical Center to everyone .

The most uninformative place I have ever been. Other than the time I was in labor and pushing everyone acted like they had better places to be. The only part that I felt cared for was during labor. My ob and labor coach were amazing. Very understaffed hospital

While the nurses and CNAs are nice, trying to get a real answer is impossible. Doctors don't act like they care whether they give you a real diagnosis or not and no one gets in a hurry for nothing. When a child is in pain, act like it matters - don't go strolling around like you are at the mall. Last time coming here if I jave anything to say about it.

Maternity Ward:

Maternity Ward:
Delivered my son here the end of November 2018. Most of the staff was amazing! Taking their time to care for me, answer concerns, and help me after the C-section. Of course like anywhere with so much staff you run across one or two that aren't as chipper but I vaguely remember their being like 2 nurses who were crisp (1 nearly rude). I was there from Wednesday morning until Sunday afternoon and saw many rotations. I'd said if I don't remember them then it wasn't a big deal and I wouldn't hesitate to deliver there again.

Absolutely horrible! The nurses I dealt with acted like work was the last place they wanted to be. They could not be bothered to answer a few questions & after one "evaluation session" & less than 48 hours on new medication, she was released. I guess threatening to kill people & herself, slapping 4 individuals, biting a nurse & taking a screen off a window & climbing out of a facility was not considered serious enough for them to keep her there.

I took my mother in per her doctors orders and I am so displeased with the service we received. Not only do you get five different people asking you what's wrong but no one even came to see my mom for three hours after she was admitted. The nurse was apologetic even though originally she was basically saying she had more than just us to see and she was stuck with all the hard cases. The doctor told us one thing in the emergency room and we came upstairs and no one seemed to know what the plan was. They didn't realize she was diabetic, didn't realize she needed medicines for her kidneys. And finally after we complained was told to go ahead and take her medicines. Hold up....you have to get permission for a cup of water but go ahead and take your medicines because we didnt have time to put them in. Medicines that your life depends on. The emergency room doctor tells us what he is prescribing, then we come upstairs and that changes to stuff we don't even know about. Im sorry but yall are not about to be just giving us stuff and the nurse can't even tell you what its for. I cannot believe the service that we've received here. I don't even know what else to say it was so bad.

I am so pissed right now. I just had the worst Hospital experience that I've ever had and will never ever go to Davis Regional ever again. It started out good when I first got there they got me back pretty quick , got an iv started my blood pressure was 141 / 56. About 20 minutes later they gave me something for pain. I had a pelvic exam and they took me back for a CT scan. When I was back for the CT scan the the radiology tech check to see if the IV was Secure before giving me the contrast and the saline flush and the connection piece wasn't even attached. I started bleeding all over so she quickly put hemostats on and got the bleeding to stop got it cleaned up and secured properly. when I went back to my room after she completed the paperwork I needed to use the restroom she told me to push the nurse's call button when I was completed so they could hook me back up to the blood pressure cuff and my IV. I push the call button at 1:57 and whoever answered it said that they would send a nurse in. Approximately 2:35 ish the most incompetent nurse walked in the room his name was John. I proceeded to tell him that I had not even been reassessed for pain after giving my injection and that I had never received contrast before and nobody even just has checked in to see how I'm doing. he proceeds to tell me that he just got there and began trying to put my IV back on without gloves or even washing his hands. I said something to him about it so he put gloves on and again went to go put my IV back on and I slapped at his hand and asked if he was even going to clean it with alcohol. he got an alcohol prep and cleaned the connection that was attached to my arm. before I could even blink an eye he hooked up the IV and started it without cleaning the other end. (mind you when it was disconnected the end on the iv bag fell and touched the floor. ) he then walked out of the room. about 25 minutes later I took my blood pressure cuff off and disconnected my IV. and walked out to the desk. spoke with a different nurse and explained what had happened. she looked in the computer and said well you're getting ready to be discharged. I explained that the doctor had not even came in to tell me what any of my test results had said.doc Came in and said that the CT scan showed a cyst on my left ovary he made a smart-ass comment about chronic pain and that I probably should know since I have been seeing my gyn. Mind you my diagnosis is adenomyosis , not cyst ... I'm so irate and scared that I was exposed to nasty hospital and nasty nurse germs!!!!!!

My grandmother was in the hospital for three days. It was a very pleasant experience! The ER nurses and the doctor were great. We had an excellent stay on med/surg, the third floor. The nurses were amazing in every way, Dr. Abbott was great too. I couldn t be more thankful!

Wonderful experience from registration to the Pre-OP department, to the OR, and PACU. Such compassionate caring nurses and staff. Explained procedure and updated my family during surgery. Very impressed from beginning to end with everyone involved in my care.

Davis Regional is the place to go! The Labor & delivery team are the best, they have delivered most of the babies in my family, including my own by csection! The comfort that the nurses give make you feel welcome and cared for. The 3rd floor nursing staff was always so kind to my grandmother when she had to be put in the hospital, she didn't like going anywhere else! So thank you for the care, comfort, and hospitality! GREAT JOB!

My 90 year old mother was just taken to Davis ER after a fall which resulted in several injuries. We chose Davis because her family physician is now associated with Davis and Irdell hospitals. She is well insured, so this visit is NOT a case where the hospital charges are not going to be covered! However, the care she received was very substandard in my personal opinion. Her head wound was stitched without the blood being cleaned from her face. The torn skin on her arm was wrapped without the area being cleaned. She wears adult diapers and was put in the car to return home wearing a wet diaper that had soaked through to her clothes. We will not return to this hospital!

If I could give negative stars I would. I came in with my son who had a 1" tongue laceration from falling off monkey bars and hitting his head causing him to bite through his tounge at 2:32 p.m. I walked out of the ER at 2:50 p.m. The same day. I had discharge papers in my hand before the doctor even came into see my son. Then the doctor looked at me and told me he had already been in the room. There were 4 people in my room and no one saw the doctor enter. Yet both the doctor and the nurse felt the need to argue with us that the doctor had been in my son's room. My pets receive better care at their vet. After we told the nurse the doctor Had not been in our room, the doctor magically appeared came into the room and felt the need to introduce himself, why would you need to introduce yourself if you have already been in the room? And then the doctor proceeded to tell me he had already looked at my son that he had snuck in behind my back. I was standing in the corner of the room there's one way in and 1 way out I would have seen you walking in. His next statement was so I guess your mom? And the asked to look at my sons tounge. Again you would know that if you had already been in my room. If doctor Michael Buchsbaum is the doctor on call I recommend you going somewhere else. Also the RNP Lane Thompson will lie for him. I have been here multiple times and never had any trouble and have had great care this was by far the worst experience I have ever had with a doctor. Also they never checked him for a Concussion.

I'm here Right now for the past hour. The 2 fat overweight nurses are too lazy to walk 15 feet in here and turn off the beeping thing that gets louder so they can hear it. This place sucks, no one near they are just taking

Very disgusted. I was supposed to be admitted. 6 hours later I'm still waiting. Finally I said I'm going home. And the nurse got the doctor. I refused to stay. I'm a diabetic. And they never checked blood sugar. I liked going to Davis. But it seems last few times. That some of the nurses are rude. I hope Davis hospital gets staff that cares.

My 8 y/o daughter had an Emergency Appendectomy last summer. The staff from the ER, all the way to 3Rd Floor that encountered my daughters care was amazing/attentive/ and made us feel like family. My husband just had an elective surgery, a couple of months ago, we chose Davis as our Hospital of Choice, we were not disappointed. Impeccable Physicians and again, caring staff.

It s sad that Davis hospital had to send an email to all employees asking them to write a positive review because their google reviews are awful (and for a free t-shirt, eye roll.) This is FALSE advertising and people should KNOW. Potential patients should read the reviews before all the 5 stars that magically popped up the past month.

This hospital and staff is just the worst I have ever seen. My mom was admitted on Thur., as of Sunday the staff had not offered her a bath, clean gown, to brush her teeth or change her bedding, every time I came in she had no ice or water. The nurses were rude and did not care to share updates on my mother when I called in. She is confined to her bed with tubes in her lungs and unable to do anything on her own. Just a horrible place for someone you love, I wouldn't let my dogs stay there for care.

One week ago, I had to rush my son to the Emergency Room. He had every symptom of appendicitis. He was very scared and so was I. From the moment that we stepped through the doors, everyone was so nice. They talked to my 9 year old son just like two adults would talk. They could tell that he was scared. They put him at ease and me too. I love working here and I would not take my child anywhere else.

This hospital is garbage my wife came in with debilitating pain from dental surgery. That had not healed with the time frame given by the dental surgeon . Not once did they check her mouth or ear. We're we treated like a couple of junkies looking to score pain pills. Dr. Parren is worthless as a phyican with no regard for patients he took blood and urine and said "Your fine follow up with your Surgeon "who had sent us here in the first place

I had to go to Davis a couple of times for tests and the staff was very nice and helpful. They personally walked me to where I needed to go and made sure there was nothing else I needed before they left. Everyone there was always smiling. I recommend this hospital to everyone.

I recently was at Davis regional hospital and their ER is the most efficient as far as short wait periods of getting in! And the cleanliness of the Emergency room was beyond any other hospital and my expectations!

There was a day that I worked that EMS had brought in a person in her 30s and she coded right as she came in. Our ED medical staff kicked into gear. They placed her into a trauma room and began CPR and several other procedures. This staff with various other staff from several other areas of the facility, worked as hard as I had ever seen in any other Hospital, even on TV, on this person for 45 minutes or more, passionately trying as hard as they possibly could to save this person. If I ever have to have this type of attention from anywhere, I pray that it's at Davis.

If you have no insurance then you better go there because they will still treat you the same as if you did have, every other hospital all but let my girlfriend die from her illness and they saved her life and kept her for 2 months, they are great!!!

Just had my daughter here on December 5,2017 and it was a great experience. All the nurses and staff where very friendly and helpful. I loved that they are very mindful of personal space and the importance of bonding time with minimal interruptions. if you need them for anything they come to you very fast. My entire experience here was a dream and I loved it. I have had 2 other births at iredell memorial and Davis was much better in my opinion.

Had an experience yesterday where had to call 911 ...

Had an experience yesterday where had to call 911 for the first time ever due to a severely herniated disc (suspected). Could not move at all. EMT's were terrific as well. Took 3 doses of 2 mg morphine (which I'd never had before, in order to move me to the stretcher. Once in the ER the nurse was cold, rude, unfeeling. She jerked my off the stretcher with no warning, shocking the EMT's and me as well. I screamed in pain, which I never do. The nurse said "well I'm not going to throw my back out for yours". She then disappeared after taking some basic info and took her student nurse with her. We didn't hear or see anyone except for the CNA angel who was a gift from God, for over an hour. All that time I sat in pain, which the nurse new about, for over an hour. After an hour the Dr, who turns out to the be ED admin came in with a smart-alec smirk and the first words out of his mouth were "I hate chiropractors". Nothing professional or comforting at all. He then listened to my heart, checked my BP, and asked me about pain on 1/10 scale. I said 5-6 and building up. When it spaz's it's a 12/10 and excruciating. He said "we're gonna take care of that for you" and left. No exam, never saw him again. Nurse came back at the 1-hour and 15 minute mark after my husband went out and interrupted their hen session at the desk. She came in with 3 syringes to cover pain, nausea, and spasms. From there the meds caused me to doze off for an hour. Still no dr, my hubby was there the entire time. Nurses then come in with paperwork, hand me two prescriptions for spasms and for steroid. Nothing at all for pain. I rarely go to dr for anything. I go once a year to midwife for annual physical. Broke my foot in two places two years ago and STILL went to see the Red Sox play at Fenway BEFORE I went to the ER and all I had with me was Advil. So I'm not into drugs, and I can normally tolerate a lot of pain. I was totally disappointed with this crew. No exam, no x-rays, no CT, no testing at all despite the fact that my legs give way every time the mega-spasms hit, and there's numbness and tingling down my left leg to my toes, and when I get hit with moderate to severe spasms I have to pee very badly. There was no discharge instructions given, no aftercare given, no info whatsoever. A friend of mine is an Internal Medicine dr, I contacted him after the fact and told him all of this. He said that the protocol they used in the ER was outdated, and not practiced any more, and he was appalled that they did no exam and no tests at all given the numbness, peeing, and giving out of legs. He asked "is this Davis Regional?" I said "yes". He said, next time....don't go there. Go to Baptist or down to CMC." So there ya go. From a high-ranking professional renowned in his field. This is not the first experience I have had with them, they nearly killed me 10 years ago when I had a gall bladder attack and they OD'd me with Dilaudid for the pain. I just figured that since the EMT's gave me a choice of either Iredell Memorial or Davis, I had little choice. Now I know I can request Baptist, and so do you.

I was referred to the physical therapy department after an injury. The staff worked with me until I was able to regain my strength and become pain free. Lisa and Summer are the best. I highly recommend Davis Regional Medical Center!

This is the worse hospital I've ever stepped foot in.... I've went there several times just because it's wry close to home.. well close or not I won't be going back, from now on I will drive an extra couple miles I don't remember his name but on one occasion I had to take my son 12 years old to the hospital with a bad cold and he could not breathe.. the Dr. Put on teflon pearls and looked at him and ok buddy man up and fight this.... so took him to iredell and resulted that he had pneumonia so I will not be returning if your smart you won't go either

I delivered my son here May 3rd. I was freaked out because of the negative reviews, but the staff here is amazing. They took excellent care of me and my son. I can't speak for the rest of the hospital, but the labor and delivery ward is fantastic.

Wish I read reviews before opting to deliver here....

Wish I read reviews before opting to deliver here. Nurses were rude. My personal nurse left us alone for 40 minutes at a time and would never come when we needed her. I was treated HORRIBLY after the birth. No compassion. The pediatrician wanted to separate me and my baby to do an exam. Not how it works, bud. To top it all off, I came home with a lovely retained placenta and uterine infection. Would have complained but my survey expired after a week (they probably do that for a reason). Check-in was dismal as they don t have any sort of assistance for mothers in labor. This place should be shut down.

My father recently had a total hip replacement at Davis Regional Medical Center. The whole surgical experience went so smoothly from registration, to pre-op to surgical team, to recovery area. Then my father was on the Medical - Surgical floor where he was cared for by caring nurses and assistants. People who were patient with him due to some confusion after surgery and hearing deficits. He truly was cared for like family. Case managers worked diligently to find placement for him at rehab area. Physical therapy was amazing getting him up and on his feet the evening of his surgery. Unfortunately, he fell the second night at rehab and was readmitted to Davis Regional Medical Center through the ED (which staff there was also wonderful) with a fractured femur. After surgery , he spent a few days in the ICU where he was cared for like he was the staffs own father. He didn't want to leave them. They babied him and loved him . I can't say enough good things about the staff that cared for my father and helped him to recover. We will always be thankful for them and their service.

I was not very happy with the service or the cleanliness of this hospital. Because of some complications I had to go there twice each time it was dirty. The first time there was blood on the bathroom seat and blood on the floor and a sticky substance that my husband pointed out on the ground. The second time was worse than the first there was blood on the Trashcan on the outside and a used surgical glove on top of it. there were two caps from Needles on the floor and Used alcohol swabs on the floor of the ER room .
I have pictures I wish I could post.

Dr Taylor was absolutely horrible. He talks down to you like you're nothing and doesn't care about what you have to say or your health. He is definitely not a professional. He shouldn't be allowed to treat damn goldfish.

I never got a chance to write a review on my experience at this hospital. I had a baby a little over a year ago and I am so grateful for the nurses at Davis Hospital. I m a first time mom and have no idea what I m doing. The nurses were constantly checking in on me and my baby, and were so patient and kind. They made me feel so safe and comfortable. Also, I loved that I had the same nurses caring for me and not a bunch of different people walking in on my husband and I. Also, I love that Davis has rights with the midwives at natural beginnings birthing center. Therefore, my midwife was able to deliver my baby at Davis. They have a more natural approach than a lot of other hospitals. So thankful for the team of nurses and doctors here. Thank you!
