In November 2015 I have got myself into a lot of trouble. I will not go into details, but I just wanted to say thank you to everyone in David Gray Solicitors, and especially Brian Hegarty, for helping me and fixing the horrible situation I have found myself in. Everyone there has treated me with utmost respect, have been graceful and courteous to me, up to the smallest things. Going there to talk about my case was never a cause of anxiety for me, but instead alleviated the bad feelings I had. I cannot recommend using David Gray as your solicitors highly enough. The staff are always courteous extremely efficient and diligent. I used David Gray for the sale of one property and purchase of another property and preparing a new will. They have been extremely professional and quick with their work. They have kept me informed at all times and ensured at a stressful time they did not add to it in the slightest. It was a relief knowing you had a solicitor fighting for you and getting the jobs done with no prompting and always on time. Do not go with who your estate agent recommends just come straight to David Gray. One for the extremely efficient service but also for the price. (I have to add: The situation regarding who is eligible to receive Legal Aid in the UK needs reassessment, it really is descriminatory as things stand now and consequently innocent people are suffering as a result).

Used these when I was in a vulnerable state and they were absolutely useless. I dealt with 1 of their lawyers, a training lawyer and a secretary and it applied to all of them. Like someone said, not sure if these should be classed as a solicitors. We went to David Gray Solicitors asking for advice on an immigration matter. The service we received from our solicitor and his colleagues was detailed and professional. Moreover, he was happy to continue to assist us with questions and problems we had after the initial hour-long interview.

Very professional and always quick to respond to my many questions. The house buying process was so much less stressful thanks to them.

Maybe all solicitors are the same but as a first time buyer I would have certainly liked updates along the way, and a contact number to ask questions.

My wife and I needed to update our wills. We wondered how easy/difficult this might be during lockdown. We need not have been concerned as our conversation with Mr. Cliff Veitch took place via an extended telephone call. Mr. Veitch listened carefully to what our perceived needs were and gently suggested possible improvements. New wills were drawn up very quickly and sent to us for checking. Rules for the witnessing of our signatures were clearly set out and were easy to follow. Within days of signing, we received copies and the whole matter was concluded efficiently and to our entire satisfaction.

Family law could have two meanings. The first meaning is the intended one; a Law Firm that specialises in family related issues. With David Gray you get a firm that excels at this first meaning but also delivers a second -- family law meaning they care not just about the legalities but also provide the support and compassion you would expect from your family. I have just gone through a collaborative divorce with the support of Mary Shaw. At every point I felt that what came first was working to find the best solution for all the individuals involved; that is myself, my son and my now ex wife. At times this meant having to answer tough questions about what I felt. Mary excels at asking the right questions in a supportive and compassionate manner. Many law firms could provide the services required for a divorce -- what David Gray gave me was a positive way forward for my life.

I always felt that they worked hard to drive the process from the needs of our family and then applied the legal framework to suit rather than driving things from a rigid 'one size fits all' legal stance.

I am writing this review some seven years after mediation took place. It s funny but only now do I really see the benefits of having used mediation at such a crucial time.
Mary Shaw is a professional mediator who was even-handed, not emotionally involved yet understanding and supportive in our very difficult situation. Mary helped us to create a structure that has had a hugely positive benefit upon me, my ex and most importantly my children s situation.
At the time of separation I felt very much caught up in personal pain.
Nowadays seeing our children go happily between two houses makes me realise how important this process was.
I just couldn t have done it without mediation and this may well have utterly broken the lives of my children.
I would urge anyone to engage in this process, simply get over yourself and think of your children s future.
Having a mediator who also had a legal background gave me the confidence that the outcome was fair for all concerned- and most particularly my children.
Family Court is the last place you would wish to be.
This is a significant and useful step before this nuclear option.

Davidgray used to be a very good law firm, however, that was 7 years ago while i got help by its solicitor, though i did not win the case, i still feel very happy about its service.
A big BUT, same law firm, but different solicitor who said only has been worked there for 2 weeks, let me down. Took the fees but provided completely wrong advice, or at least misled me.

David gray has my profile, and adviser knew it, but did not prepare or get familiar of my case's information before i arrived, which means, I paid 220 pound for an instant searching service (the solicitor did not know my name, sex, story and what did i want, and again, need to do research,, in front of me, to get the idea what would be the potential actions we can take) rather than professional legal advice.

Comparing to the service and help i got 7 years ago from Ian. So basically, I paid for legal advice but got wrong information from a not-supposed-to-be non experienced "solicitor". By considering the case nature, the initial fees just made our financial situation deteriorated, and not helpful at all.

And seems there is no supervisor in their team to overlook the job, at least in my cast this time.

We all know that we cannot ask winning guarantee from a law firm, but i would expect proper legal advice from it, not misleading, false or even wrong information, but in my last visit, the solicitor of david gray successfully managed to provide almost all of those kind information, along with a lot of, i mean, a lot of, bot relevant and irrelevant legal provisions, they dominant substantial part of written advice that i received, with mistake of my sex (woo).

Personally, I did recommend this firm previously to many of my friends who needed legal advice. However
Personally, I would definitely not recommend this law firm now.
