I just bought a Jeep Wrangler Sport from Ellis and have to admit the experience was relaxed and easy. In driving around the San Fernando Valley and beyond we discovered that most dealerships carried very few Jeeps, most with options and styles that didn't interest us. We came to Ellis because we bought our Dodge across the street at Dependable Dodge and remembered seeing the Jeep sign (turns out the two dealerships are not related). What impressed us right off the bat was the variety of Jeeps they had on the lot. We zeroed in on our choice right away. The salesman (Rafael) was friendly and helpful. Like any dealership they wanted to make a deal that very day, but I like to research, so we kept in touch for a few days while I did my numbers. The rest was done over the phone and e-mail as I sent in my offer, they countered (slightly) and we met in the middle. I had only a few add ons which included bigger tires and rims. We negotiated a price for the tires that was well below anything I could get at Wal Mart or Costco (trust me, I checked). In addition, they gave me the original 5 tires and rims so I could sell them or trade them in elsewhere. I financed through my credit union, but the dealership was willing to match the credit union's rates. I chose to stick with the credit union for no other reason than I was already down that road. Next, I asked them to hold the car for a few weeks as I was in the process of refinancing my house and did not want to start a new loan until that loan closed. I paid a small deposit, signed a contract and they gladly held the car several weeks. This is a simple dealership with a small lot crammed with Jeeps. I did not feel any hard sell and came away feeling that I got a very competitive deal (at least according to Consumer Reports). I am one of those people who likes to get the best deal possible. If I think I overpaid for something, it keeps me up at night. I've slept very well since the purchase. I have not been in for service and will post up my opinion of that part of the experience once it has happened.
