Great Staff! Willing to accommodate and work with you
Disappointed that you're not permitted to use the scale at the facility unless you sign up for a personal trainer. What kind of a gym doesn't have a scale?! How do you track progress & meet goals! Makes me want to find another gym.
Good, but pretty expensive for an open swim. Not in line with other local pools.
Anything for your active lifestyle you will find here, swimming, skating and much more.
Extremely pleased with the renovations! Just went for the adult only swim and I am very happy with the gender neutral change rooms and level of accessible change rooms and swimming opportunities! Will definitely be coming back for a nice quiet, kid free evening swim.
I'm REALLY looking forward to this gym being renovated, the fitness centre equipment is very old and outdated but I like the variety of activities you can do here (track, pool, boxing, weights, squash etc...The staff are very friendly and helpful and the location is convenient.
It's am amazing sports complex! The swimming pool area is amazing along with the gym and the indoor running track! The family day pass is really affordable along with the regular rates. Clean and functional!
Great place for anything active; skating, swimming, boxing, etc...
This is probably the nicest recreational facility I've ever seen. The refurbishment was a huge improvement for this building.
Facilities are great but you need to go by bus on Saturdays because there's absolutely no parking. If you want to drive, make sure to arrive 1 hour before the class you're expecting to go to, so you'll have 55 minutes to spin around the parking lot, trying to find a spot amongst all the cars parking in spaces that don't exist, and parking in ways to take up multiple spaces.
There are fights happening here all the time on fridays, not safe for your child.
Very nice facility and way overdue. Dartmouth residents now have a facility for people that want to stay active.
Went For Covid 19 Testing Anyone Interested 11am Till 930pm - Anyone Without Covid 19 Symptoms
All is new. But the prices are more expensive than other sportplexes.
Beautiful space with something for
Everyone! Cant wait to start using regularly!
Excellent facilities and very nice pool and gym. I have had a membership for the past 8 years and the renovations make it so much better! The gym is amazing also.
Love the new gym!! My husband went to the gym before it closed for renovations and tells me it has changed so much since. I love all the new gym equipment and the fact that you can see the view of the waterfront while working out. The facility has a great layout and a nice modern look. Can t wait to try the skating rink out next week!
We went to the open swim here on Good Friday. The renovations are very nice. Everything is bright and clean. The new locker rooms that connect to the pool are especially nice, I definitely appreciate the addition of the swimsuit spinner so that our wet suits aren't so soaked when leaving. I originally gave 5 stars, but have updated to 4 for the following:
1) while the facilities have been upgraded, the pool layouts remain the same, with the upgrades being the pool deck, splash pad, new slides, climbing wall . Both the kiddie and the larger pool are the same size as they were before.
2) because of them having the climbing wall, and rope swing open, there were literally only 2 lanes to swim in, which you could really only float around in due to the amount of people. So occupancy levels should probably be adjusted as it's not worth the money if one cannot move in the pool because of how crowded it is .
3) while the staff were friendly, both at the desk and at the pool, it did seem like they didn't really have a good grasp of what was going on in relation to how many people had already been admitted to the pool, or what the charge for the swim should be. I don't know if this due to them just having reopened, but a simple clicker counter would remedy the issue, rather than the desk trying to page staff in the pool area to eyeball if there were too many people or not .
While it is nice, we probably won't be coming here regularly, as we prefer the size and layout of both Cole Harbour Place and the Canada Games Centre better.
It's not a backyard tournament, but a POC in a ball!
Absolutely not prepared for competing at the level.
Very gloomy hockey rink, reminds me of Tropicana field in Tampa Bay.
Used to be my favourite place to go when I was a kid. Pirate's Cove was so fun! It didn't seem the cleanest though but that never really mattered. It's a public swimming pool so you kind of have to accept that.
Zatsman is great. The location is awesome, easy to access. Lots of parking, right next to the bus terminal. The facility is nice, and there are lots of options for exersize.
When no events, it is a great place!!
Right next to the bus terminal and wide parking.
I like the free programs with your membership...staff very friendly and helpful
Covid 10 testing, negative
Yea
The place is hardly recognizable after the renovations! It looks very nice all around. There is a universal changing room for the pool, which I think is awesome. There are still male and female change rooms but this one is great for anyone going with friends that may be a different gender. My girlfriend and I are often frustrated when we have to go into different rooms and bring 2 locks, so this feels fantastic. The universal changing room is also welcoming for anyone who does not identify with male or female. There are several 'changing stalls' inside and you must change within them. This keeps the environment comfortable for everyone.
nice place for swimming classes for kids, very helpful staff
Recently updated big swimming poll. My toddler loves swimming classes there
Really beautiful facility. The ladies change room is small for the size of the facility. Lots of machines in the gym and various pools to pick your workouts
Love this place, great place , they will go out of their way to help out, parking is good. Come in and look around
2 stars for dissapoinment on the lack of steam room and sauna. The rest is a 4 star.
EDIT: 1 STAR across the board EXCEPT the exceptional caregivers in child minding who are a 5/5. Here's a cpuple reasons why; I used a vending machine in their premises and it didn't return my change. When I brought it to their attention they gave me a NUMBER I could CALL.....?!?!$%@# Why couldn't you have an allowance for inconveniences like these? As a long standing family customer I am shocked on so many levels.
More reasons, hot tub constantly under repair...shallow pool is divided even when there are no lessons running depending on who is working, family changerooms smell horrible which apalling considering this is a newly renovated area, Child minding based on numbers? What about us who feel like showing up..? I have to arrange for someone to look after my children if I want to get my money's worth at the sportsplex? This should he open during all hours of operation. I am so confused with what's going on there.
Unfortionately the staff are miseducationed about service dogs and it continues to be uneasy for wheelchair users to use this facility.
I am treated like it's a privilege for me to even be allowed in with my service dog, instead of a fundamental right protected by the human rights commission of canada and only further by the service dog act of nova scotia.
I had to educate them about the ID program and then they accused me of not volunteering the information or ID, which I did. I have proof that these events occured as stated.
Unfortionately they do not care and when my dog alerted today (prior events were a day before) and I told the staff member that no longer needed to be talking about me to leave, it took an extended period of time to get her to leave me alone, because she wanted me to "get up and leave". When I discussed yesterday she needs to leave me alone if my dog is trying to task.
Cole Harbour is the place to go if you're disabled and I can't wait to go back.
Has everything! And the communial change room is great because my partner and I don't have to use seperate change rooms and can just bring one gym bag..
Currently under renovation! They hope to re-open mid-February 2019.
Decent gym equipment
Doesn't get too busy usually
Swim lane open for lap swim 7/8 times
Frequented by seniors and young alike
Greeted by staff on arrival, friendly
Gym clean
Awesome cone check it out once there finished construction
I really liked the pool and has lots of changing rooms.
Excellent reno's on this facility. Some work to be finished.
Happy to see this place is getting a much needed facelift, hope the gym has windows when they're done.
Good spot for cardio, weight training, hot tub, swimming, and an array of classes. Also an indoor track and ice rink-- and a basketball court!
Birthday Pool party at the zartzman complex. Kids love it and it's not very expensive
It's really nice there at the pool they have 2 slides,2 rock climbing and a rope to swing into the water it's really cool
You can use the indoor track for free on Monday, Wednesday, Friday and Saturday. No fee , no membership required.
Brand New. Nice facilities and multi purpose rooms. Rink. Track. Fitness rooms. Pool. Hot tub. No sauna or stream room tho. Change rooms are fabulous and well designed. Bring your own padlock.
First time here for a hockey game. Really nice facility. Has a walking track, gym and a hockey arena. I'm sure a lot more if you look around.
One of the cleanest community spaces I've been to. We used the change area and the pool area and it was very clean. I liked how they have lots of pool toys, life jackets and floaties for the kids. The rope and the slides are great too.
Great rink friendly employees clean bathroom great ice ..all around a terrific rink
The pool in particular was a ridiculous experience.
They kept the air temperature cool enough that I was freezing, and my kid's lips turned blue.
The water was ok, but it should not be cold enough in the room that a kid changes color like a 90's hot wheel car.
Great that ice and track are open during construction. But charging 5.00 to use the track is high....
Great facility, questionable staff.
I go here regularly in the mornings to swim. The facility is fantastic, the renovations are clearly well done. The lifeguard staff, however, are lazy at best and downright incompetent at worst. Watched the lifeguard this morning spend 10 minutes chatting with some boy, who was texting on his cell phone, as opposed to scanning the pool. Even caught her posing for a picture at one point. Sometimes the lifeguards aren't even in a guard uniform, just general facility uniforms, which makes it really difficult to easily spot the lifeguard. (Not to mention anyone in full length pants, a sweater, and sneakers will be significantly encumbered during a rescue). I made a complaint to front desk once about no visible lifeguard, and no one watching the pool. Despite leaving a number for them to "call me to discuss the issue", no one ever followed up.
The couple times I've been in the evenings (when the pool is busier) the staff have seemed fine. Unnerving that the staff seems to feel they can get away with not doing their job just because it's quiet/the morning.
At this point, I don't trust the lifeguards there to notice I needed help, or be able to help me when they did. Lifeguarding is a serious job. You're responsible for people's safety. Any lifeguard who doesn't take their job seriously all the time (regardless of time of day, or number of patrons) shouldn't be lifeguarding.
Great place to exercise. Especially when they have free entry for the community.
They did an amazing job with the Reno's. Very impressed!
Slides are decent. Nice sized hot tub for 10 people. Lifeguards aren't cranky.
Beautiful renovations, a hub of the Dartmouth community. We can really be proud of this as our recreation center.
