Nice location and friendly staff. The food was mediocre.

Perfect place for a nice lunch or just a beer on the large terrace.

Waited really long (~50 minutes) and got pancake without cheese first and backsife burnt. Then got the same pancake back with added cheese. Even more burnt.

Fast food ... comfortable to go with young children

had to wait 30 minutes until someone approached us, ordered 4 beers but got only 3, had to ask 3 more times until the 4th beer was brought. There were a lot of pigeons eating from tables and pooing on them, we had pigeon poo on our table as well and had clean it ourselves with a napkin. One of the waitresses had a very mad face expression even though we never spoke to her.

Overall the place is very expencive but the table service was very poor even though the place was not full, the outside tables were messy and unsanitary. I would not recommend the place to anyone!

Enjoying coffee outside with a view of the boats on the water. Disadvantage: many pigeons that constantly land on your table in search of a free snack ....

The patio was fine with a nice view over the Amstel. Unfortunately the staff did not show up and empty glasses were hardly collected. The food itself was decent, but not everything was in the house, so the spare ribs were for example. In addition, the staff themselves complaining in front of guests, which I find very unprofessional.

The meat of the duck (Brest Duck - XXX) was miserable and totally saline. We have after 18.Std. Still a stomachache! Please do not!!!!!!!! To order. Overpriced prices and toilets dirty.

Nice modern restaurant. The food is also good. Not a must visit but if you are in the area of the Opera and you just had a nice walk into the flea market you can stop by for a beer and a sandwich. You will not regret that. Definitively recommended is the RAW burger sandwich which you can see in one of the pictures.

Been here twice on two separate visits to amsterdam. Placed in a lovely area right by the canal and round the corner from love lock bridge. Only eaten here on one of the visits and found a simple ham and cheese toastie very tasty but expensive... the outside seating is lovely and have blankets on each seat and heaters above most tables.. would call here again for the view but would probably eat elsewhere

Great place for getting to know traditional Dutch food. Service was a little slow when we were there.

Not Interested operation. To wait long. No buzz. This was our second experience at Amstelhoeck. The first experience six months earlier was also characterized by uninterested service and long waiting times. They get us a third option anymore.

Beautiful place with large terrace without car traffic but very expensive and quite deceptive that some things such as coffee, tea and soft drinks are not on the menu. Quality is fine. The nachos dish was very popular with my family.

Food is okay. Not anything particularly unique or anything extraordinary. They have a neat system where you can flip a light to indicate service requested . Well, we flipped the light and 10 mins later no one had stopped by to bring water. Several server passed by giving sideway glances to the light but none (including the one serving the table) stopped to offer service.

I think if you are a tourist (pretty much everyone in Amsterdam is), you can do far better than here.

Very nice place to take a break. The food was great. Delicious Amstel in pint. The outdoor terrace is recommended, here you have a great overview of the canal and on the Munttoren. I can only recommend.

Spacious restaurant with a beautiful view, definitely recommended

Wonderful location (right by the Opera & Ballet) and a beautiful view (if you grab a table on the patio), however the service was lacking. The food was decent, nothing special (at least what I ordered) and the service was mediocre- we were standing by the entrance waiting wondering if we seat ourselves or wait for a hostess, we finally just asked someone; also, we had no idea who our server was as one person took our drink order, another took our food order, a third person brought out our meals, and no one checked on us during our meal.

The service was bad. Ordered salad, got 500g of meat. The meat was unfortunately still inedible. Had more the consistency of chewing gum. In between we tried to "cheer" a cheese plate and other dishes. Service was not to cash. When she came then the bill was not right. For a small water and a 0.33 beer and a burger, this "Brisket meat dish" And a portion of fries we should have paid 75. It turned out that there were other not ordered and not "enjoyed" dishes on the bill. In the end it was 51 . We almost completely let the meat go back. But that did not interest anyone. It was clear to us that this must be a tourist trap. Since we did not find any other restaurant on the way (except McDonald's), in which you also fit with a stroller, we still got involved in it. There are 2 stars because the location is good and there is a terrace with a good view of the water and the typical architecture. Drinking a beer is okay. But we would not eat there anymore.

Great place for grabbing few pints if beer or eat some food while you roaming around in central amsterdam.

They have a lot of tables bith inside and outside, with good food options. They use light system for service..the glowing light on table can be turned upside down to switch it to red and they quickly come to your table then.

You can take kids as well.. they have kids hot chocolates and some cheese sandwich dishes which they will surely love. Dont foeget the whipped cream on hot chocolates.

Nice service and you have from the terrace a beautiful view of the canal. I can only recommend a stop there

Nice place to drink with friends. Good service, tasty ale and beer, a lot of Dutch snacks, a lot of space. You can easy pay separate from each other. Prices are middle for Amsterdam. I recommend this place for those who want to spend a good time in a big company.
