Daniel Stowe Botanical Gardens is quite a beautiful place to visit. It's relatively young in age compared to larger and more established gardens throughout the USA. However, its future is bright with a well thought out master plan. There is room to grow. So, if you are a "Green Thumb" gardener passing through the Charlotte area, then check this garden out. You won't be disappointed in its youthfulness. Just don't compare it with the big league famous gardens since its not at that level yet.

We attend seasonal events at the gardens since we live locally. The pictures here are from their Chinese Lantern Festival event. It was a different perspective to see all these animal lanterns lit up throughout the gardens. The event was surely a success since many of their dates were sold out. Enjoy your visit to DSBG!

We held our spring wedding here at DSBG, and it did not disappoint! After looking at other local venues and feeling disappointed, my then-fiance and I were elated to find DSBG. Gail and Courtney made the planning process easy. They were quick to respond to emails and provide recommendations from start to finish. The gardens themselves were breathtaking, and our guests are STILL raving about the venue 3 months later. I can't recommend this location enough!

Beautiful. This is a fantastic place to visit and go for a walk. The garden is huge and there are many trees, flowers, and other plants to see. Benches are scattered around if you need a rest. They have a butterfly bungalow and it was pretty neat as well. The employees are friendly and professional. The lady working in the bungalow knows her stuff about butterflies! Would highly recommend this place.

We saw the Chinese Lantern Festival. It was my first time here & even though it was immensely packed with spectators & a wedding party, everything was very well organized. The lanterns were gorgeous!! Beautiful, beautiful display!

I attended the Chinese Lantern Festival on Saturday, Oct 21. I had purchased the tickets (2) on Tuesday, Oct 17 at the cost of $19.99 each plus fees/ tax. As my FIRST TIME VISIT to the Botanical Garden, to see this display we arrived at 6:30 pm. We were directed to park in LOT 4 which is approximately 2.5 miles from the front entrance, so we waited 45 minutes for a shuttle. As the time is nearing 7:30 now, the crowds of people is massive, with wheelchairs, strollers, double wide strollers. The lines of folks hardly can move on the pathways. as families move 5-6 people across in front of the line. No one was able to move....it was horrible.
The displays that we did see were beautiful, but due to the massive crowd congestion, a private event in one area, no employees to provide direction or crowd control.....it was a COMPLETE WASTE OF TIME. The facility ONLY WANTED YOUR MONEY, since it is a NON REFUNDABLE EVENT....forget about seeing all of the displays.
By 8:45pm we decided to leave as we could not MOVE IN THE CROWD OF PEOPLE....we had to wait 20 minutes for a shuttle to get back to our car. THIS FACILITY IS A COMPLETE WASTE OF YOUR TIME...
If you LIKE MASSIVE CROWDS, not being able to move about, moving at the pace of a snail, having strollers ROLL OVER YOUR FEET, and no one providing direction or safety or crowd control...go there.

The garden was pretty disappointing. Weeds and overgrowth everywhere, and very little was kept up or looked healthy and in bloom. Candidly my back yard looks nicer. We drove 40 minutes, got a family membership and stayed for about 20 minutes as much was blocked off / closed. I understand we are in the midst of a pandemic so i'm sure it is difficult to maintain, but I didn't expect it to be as bad as it was. Perhaps it would be enjoyable in cooler weather and if you walked all of the trails, but with 2 little ones we didn't have the option. We will give it a try again in the fall. Hopefully by then things will have gotten better.

It was absolutely gorgeous. We don't have any gardens like it in our state. We are so glad we stopped. We took lots of photos and just enjoyed how peaceful it was. We can't wait to come back as they were working on expanding and we definitely want to see more.

My husband & I visited this garden the 1st of December, 2013... What a WONDERFULLY ENCHANTING PLACE!! ...This would be a most awsome place to have a wedding :) ... We strolled threw the Veranda's hand in hand, how romantic it was looking at all the lights and fountains... after 25 years of marriage, romance can be hard to find...you provided us with the atmosphere and what a wonderful evening we had. Thank You!

My husband and I came to see the Wee House exhibit. The flowers were bloomed in all their glory and the various fountains were flowing. Very relaxing experience and enjoyed the Wee Houses. We came around 9:30 on a Sunday morning and it was quiet. More people started arriving as as we were leaving around 11. Price was $12.50 per adult and I felt we got our moneys worth. Even though we didn't bring the kids, the Lost Hollow was just as interesting for the adults. Could def see a child enjoying it's wonders!

Daniel Stowe Botanical Gardens is definitely worth a visit. The gardens themselves are on a smaller scale than other gardens I've been to. I suspect this is a work in progress. The orchidarium is well layed out and has some lovely specimens. This is a garden one wanders through, rather than going for a specific part of the garden. When we visited their special exhibition were if larger than life glass flowers. There were interspersed throughout the gardens. They have snacks available, and a nice gift shop, as well.

Wedding and reception were held at the Botanical Garden in January so we were inside. Lovely setting, beautiful gift shop to browse in while waiting. The room where the ceremony took place faced into the gardens with lots of windows and light. The food stations were set up in adjoining rooms. Food was well prepared and displayed. Tables surrounded the dance floor. A nearby hot house building housed a wonderful orchid exhibit which all guests had access to as well- an unexpected bonus.

Went with a 3 rd grade field trip. The people running the education program were great! The garden is nice but currently under some renovations so there are some bare spots. I wish they had better maps with some signage that would tell you the distances of the trails. We wanted to take the larger trail but since the distances were not posted or on the map we had no idea if we would make it back for the program time. Also I was surprised that there is not a food venue on site. However if you would be happy with some cold sandwiches there is a cooler in the gift shop. There are plenty of spots to sit and rest and the fountains are wonderful. Overall it was a nice place to enjoy a day.

Always pretty but I was disappointed this time because there were many fountains, the waterfall in the greenhouse and many other areas that normally have running water that add to the displays were all either not running or completely devoid of water. My fav part is always the waterfall with the orchids but it was just a wall with no water. I was very disappointed and felt like Id wasted my time and money
