We adopted a beautiful Lab mic thta had just arrivrd from a shelter in Missippi. We're so excited to watch her grow with our son, and we are eager to see if our son would be interested in volunteering to help here as a family as soon as he's old enough.

This place was a nightmare. My wife and I went in looking for a dog to adopt. Not only did the staff have absolutely NO legitimate information about the dogs they had, but all of their communication is through the computer system so no one has a clue what is going on. We asked many questions about pets which we got no answers to. The only answer we got were guesses. They need to actually spend some time with their animals and get to know their personalities before they try to adopt them out. The prices are also ridiculous and there are no refunds if something doesn't work out. We will not be going back when we device to adopt an animal.

About Dane County Humane Society

Dane County Humane Society: Providing Refuge, Healing and New Beginnings to Animals

Dane County Humane Society is a non-profit organization that provides refuge, healing and new beginnings to over 9,000 companion animals, exotic species, farm animals and injured or orphaned wildlife every year. The organization was founded in 1921 with the mission of promoting the humane treatment of animals through education, advocacy and services.

The Dane County Humane Society operates two shelters in Dane County - one in Madison and another in Sun Prairie. Both shelters provide temporary housing for animals that have been surrendered by their owners or rescued from abusive situations. The staff at both shelters work tirelessly to ensure that each animal receives proper care and attention while they wait for their forever homes.

In addition to providing shelter for animals in need, the Dane County Humane Society also offers a variety of programs designed to promote responsible pet ownership. These programs include spay/neuter services, behavior consultations, obedience training classes and more. By educating pet owners on how to properly care for their pets, the organization hopes to reduce the number of homeless animals in Dane County.

One unique aspect of the Dane County Humane Society is its Wildlife Center. This center provides medical treatment and rehabilitation services for injured or orphaned wildlife such as birds of prey, waterfowl and small mammals like squirrels and rabbits. The center also offers educational programs about wildlife conservation.

The Dane County Humane Society relies heavily on donations from individuals and businesses within the community to fund its operations. In addition to monetary donations, volunteers are always needed at both shelter locations as well as at fundraising events throughout the year.

Overall, the Dane County Humane Society plays an important role in promoting animal welfare within our community. Through its various programs and services it has helped thousands of animals find loving homes while also educating pet owners on how best to care for their furry friends.
