Very informative. I really enjoyed learning about Scandinavian culture. I wish I had more time to see more of the museum.

Beautiful exhibitions quiet surroundings with space for contemplation
It is a bit expensive, but worth seeing if you are in the city. Good way to spend a couple hours. Great layout, easy to navigate, plenty of different exhibits, a lot of information, & artefacts.
Good museum, but prepared to spend all day if you want to see everything. No student discount.
I didn't really like it here. It was so big and so many things to look at, you could legit spend an entire day here. I almost got lost because I couldn't find my way out, and they were announcing that they were closing and I panicked a little bit. It's not the easiest thing to navigate. If you love history and then this is probably the place for you.
The national museum is always worth a visit if you're interested in danish history, unfortunately it is no longer free to visit I believe.
Does it really worth of the ticket? Was disappointed by its collections.
A little hard to find around but otherwise a nice place
Well organized, all sections are interesting and provided with instructive infos (Danish and English). The viking section is awesome. Perfect for families!
All the families and children of all time enjoyed seeing the incredibly beautiful exhibition.
This museum is really rich and has been around in the house. It feels like it is smaller in the Louvre Museum in France, but it has a lot of documents on display. It took me two hours to accidentally miss this one. point
Mini Louvre Museum of Copenhagen.
Free museum with different eras to visit. Complete proposed collections.
Museum of size. Not to be missed if you want to know more about the history of Denmark.
Very large museum with excellent displays. You could easily spend a good few hours here.
Very limited Danish history and mostly irrelevant sections.
Loved it. Really interesting place. A must see in CPH.
The children's museum is great, you can touch it and experience it all. There is a reprising of an old school, a Viking ship where they can dress up ... My three-year-old daughter loved it. It is a perfect bread for a rainy day.
Very interesting, full of incredible artifacts. It's so big and full of history that you almost get lost (but you don't, really).
Like all museums in Copenhagen, it's closed on Monday and free on Tuesday. Check out the shop as there are very interesting items, ideal for presents from Denmark
Brilliant prehistoric collection though I think most tourists will visit for the viking stuff. But so much more. Including the remarkable sun chariot.
Very interesting place! Need 4-5 hours to visit every floor. My advance go them at the opening and spend there whole day.
Great museum. The kids enjoy some of the plays done buy the museum staff. Like the Egyptian mummies and the ghost room.
Well worth a visit. The exhibits are first class. Some fascinating insights, and amazing collections.
Really well done museum. I found the most interesting things we're on Floor 2 -- the more modern Danish history. Floor 0 has a popular Viking exhibit that is popular now (very crowded.) The upper floors have few attendees. This museum has a very broad collection. Instead of showing 10 or 50 daggers, it shows hundreds. All descriptions are in Danish and English. It is about $15, not cheap but not overly burdensome.
Would come more often if they had longer business hours.
Multi-storey museum, spent 5 hours. And more and more.
If you visit Copenhagen, you'll want to visit the Danish National Museum. There are quite a few exhibits, so it's best to spend half a day here.
There are various exhibits from ancient times to modern times, so you can browse around without getting tired. However, since it is not a one-way street, there are branches and dead ends, so I think it is better to turn the map with one hand to see efficiently.
Also, instead of the admission badge, you will be given a clip, but be careful as this is easy to drop. If you should drop it (I dropped it), don't worry, I will show you the receipt again.
Nice exhibits with cool and rare items. Friendly staff. Often quite confusing how to walk between the rooms, etc.
So much to see. It will easily be a full day here. Don't miss the show about the Vikings !!
As it was a very warm day, we decided to go to the national museum. To our surprise it was nearly as hot inside - which made the tour through the house quite exhausting. Overloaded with artefacts, we nearly gave up close to the end.
What was surprising despite the many many things shown, was the lack of any reference to the relations to the Faroe islands - neither in the colonies section, nor anywhere else. Although it is part of Denmark, there is only one small display case mentioning the Faroes with some few small artefacts... Also no discussion about the history and the huge impact of the Danish on the Norwegian culture and language. Makes me wonder if I overlooked it (could have easily happened - I was not always sure if I took the right turn) or if (and then why) they decided not to take it in...
I am also wondering why there is no student price available. Would not go again - time can be spend more interesting and less exhausting in Copenhagen.
Large museum with comprehensive historical collection
Fantastic museum with lots of great exhibits. There are lots of artefacts relating to Danish history but also world history. Around 50 kroner for entry. We were not travelling with children but there seemed to be lots for children to do. There is a cafe and a gift shop.
Located between the town hall square and Christianborg.
A section is dedicated to Roman civilization. It has a wardrobe and a bar for refreshment. Interesting visit
A good place to visit. Allocate at least three hours.
Awesome collection, all for free. One day is not enough to explore everything.
Interesting museum with a lot of diversity ! A bit long ... Schedule two up to three hours of your time !
Look like Buesnes center more then a museum but it was a good experience to be there
Definitely worth visiting, huge collection and might take a while to see the entire place
Informative and huge. The main exhibition is very extensive, and takes forever to go through, so if you are in Copenhagen for a shorter period of time, you should come here in the morning if you wanna make it. Too bad that it closes so early, which makes you go through it really fast if you go there in the afternoon.
Really good.
We discover all the eras.
So the National Museum has to be good, otherwise it's just a little sad
Very extensive exhibition on the history of Denmark, including smaller trips to the rest of the world.
The sometimes strange route is more than compensated by the free admission.
Beautiful collections but not much big pieces and it is sometimes difficult to navigate through the rooms.
Perfectly located in the centre of Copenhagen, free, and has a nice selection of exhibitions and viking material. For viking aficionados there is a nice gift shop with some unique items.
Loads to see, really interesting stuff. Had a great Meet the Danes tour with Simon.
Weird experience, but certainly not a bad one. The museum is really big, with lots of interesting stuff, but it also seem to be created in not much care. Most of the path that you can follow are in fact disconnected with each other, jumping from an Era to another randomly and sometimes without a connection. All things consider tho the museum has a lot to offer thinking also that it is one of the only one in the whole city about Danish History.
A jewel, a place you can not miss. The complete atonements, masterly and well described. I never imagined the contribution of Denmark to the world, a place to spend the whole day and understand that it is Copenhagen, very good cafeteria too. The Greenland exhibition is a must. The Vikings are masterful.
Super nice tour, for 0. Class, with a cute shield maiden who was going home to the Viking Age
It's a really good museum.good if your interested in the Vikings
Impressive.
The best place to learn the Danish culture from the ancient time to nowadays.
Very exciting. Many things to see. Good explanations that give understanding and overview. The staff is very friendly and welcoming.
Good experience for the whole family. Lots of things to immerse in
Great place to visit with children. Large collection of various cultures.
Organization of the museum isn t great but lots of cool artifacts and always interesting to see how a country presents itself.
Really interesting museum with a lot of difference stuff from a very long timeline. You can pass from the different age in a smart way, there is a lot of explanation in english and it is really easy to explore it. Unfortunately there is few rooms about the Vikings' period.
The National Museum of Denmark is a beautiful and elegant museum. Child friendly with their own Children s Museum. The current exhibit Meet the Vikings is excellent.
I was expecting a bit more from this museum, the history and depth is fascinating but I felt the layout of some of exhibitions could of been better and that would of made it more easier to absorb. The space is great.
A great few hours learning about Danish history, the Vikings etc. Very easy to follow!
Ancient historic place. Where you can find the ancient culture and things used by the Europeen people
