Horrible experience.

Horrible experience.
exaggerated cost, it is all very confusing and does not follow a timeline, you go from Vikings to Neanderthal man and then return to the Renaissance, a madonna casino, you enter and after 20 minutes you just want to leave because you are bombarded by 4939277194022 objects in case all the same, boring

The museum has a great content, and the exhibition about the colonies is worth a visit.
Unfortunately there is a large part of the museum there are just "dead" collections where I do not really feel that I get the story with.
Of course, it takes a lot of research to make something solid and reliable, but it could make the visit to the museum better.
The top floor contains a number of effects of ceramics, which I could not really find an account of by reading the descriptions, although it was clear that there was more and bigger history in it than what I immediately extracted from the collection.

You need 4-5 hours to see everything at a reasonably quick pace.
Some highlights are: Remains of a viking drakkar and a large collection of prehistoric and bronze age artifacts.
A fun addition is a place where you can put on some chainmail and get a picture with viking helmet and shield for no extra charge.

Reknown and noteworthy museum with many original exhibitions every year. In 2019 the main theme was the Central Asia history and cultures. Moreover the venue is home for every kind of artifacts, during the ages in the kingdom of Denmark. Very interesting, also interactive with sound and visuals in every room. 10/10 for me

Very interesting museum that reviews a lot of times from prehistory to the present day (cosplay on the top floor) through the Vikings!
Only downside .. the rooms are linked one behind the other and it's hard to follow a consistent path .. we often go from one era to another then we come back later lol
Allow time to visit it

Lots of items to look at and one can really spend a long time in there. Still, they get no more than 3 stars. It is 2018 and the era of dead exhibitions is over. It does not help children and young people's desire for museums if there is only one ax and then the name. It takes either something more visual or a little exciting stories about some of the things before it gets exciting. My 2 boys of 8 got bored very quickly and at the children's museum part the staff was more busy keeping quiet and correcting the children who were there than communicating. So the place can not be recommended for children immediately.

The biggest historical museum of Danmark. There are a lot of things. The idea of free entrance is quite impressive - such a friendly and open place! And there is a lot of things to see. Just visit it!

A really great museum with a varied exhibition.

A really great museum with a varied exhibition.
The exhibition is held in Danish / English. Which, by the way, is in most places here.
The restaurant also has normal Danish prices.

Best museum I visited while in Europe! Section on Danish history was particularly interesting. Even if you are an English-only speaker, you will be amazed by the amount of information being presented here. Five stars

A beautiful museum, well organized. It is very large and one afternoon was not enough for the complete visit. I really liked the organization of the sections, even if at first glance it may seem labyrinthine (the rooms are really many). In addition the photos are allowed, offers free wi-fi and many spaces to sit to read or simply rest. Not to forget the section dedicated to children.

Very interesting place, lots of compositions, absolutely free. A great place to spend an interesting day in the rainy weather is vaifai, toilets, expositions from ancient times about the life and history of Denmark and to the present. There are audio guides for many exhibits in Danish and English.

Museum chock-full of Danish history. Lots of info and exhibits, so make sure to pick which ones you want to do since it would be difficult to do all of them. The only disappointing thing was that some of the info in the exhibits was a pretty generic description of the time period rather than explaining events that specifically happened in Denmark.
