I took my 5 years old child to see pediatrician at Dallas Medical Center, she addressed all the issues one by one and satisfied me (a mom) up to the extent a mom of a sick child is supposed to be satisfied and relived.

Keep up the good work....

Sister had surgery. Was told to be there by noon, didn't have surgery until almost 4:00....when she left, they gave her the wrong discharge instructions whereas if she hadn't questioned it and ended up calling them the next day to get clarification could of caused serious medical ramifications (she never saw the surgeon after the surgery that day). This is a serious infraction and had it gone wrong, I would of recommended legal action. Come on - get your discharge staff trained better or have the doctors come to visit the patient instead.

I found many free parking spots right beside the entrance to the ER and an empty lobby in the middle of the day. Now I know why. Without going into detail because this is a medical condition, I'll just say they don't care. The only exception being Mario the Radiology Tech. I learned more about my condition from him than the whole staff combined.

Edit: 6/26/19

Upon review of this post, Mr. Deybi Aldana, the ER/Trauma director contacted me and set everything straight. He told me that he would comp my visits, and if I wanted to, I could come back and they'd fix me up. The staff today was excellent. Dr. Hicks was amazing, explained my test results thoroughly, prescribed exactly what was needed, and had one of the best bedside manners I've ever witnessed. My nurses, Vickie and Lance were reassuring, affirming and awesome as well! The registrar was also very accommodating. My rating has been upgraded as a result of this. Thank you for making things right.

End of revision to rating/review. Previous review below for contextual purposes.

----------

I've been to this hospital twice. The first time I had a very nice attending doctor, and the staff seemed to be nice. This most recent time, the doctor seemed very nice, however, they got swamped while I was there (two ambulances arrived back to back) and the doctor was not able to spend any time with me--he came into the room, handed me a few papers with my CT and blood workup results and left.

Not only did he not explain anything regarding my problem, the CT paperwork (that I did not receive last time) indicated that I had "unchanged" hepatic steanosis (liver disease) and an enlarged spleen. When oh WHEN was someone going to say "Hey, Mr. KeyStroke -- by the way, you have liver disease." I had a nice cry, and left.

Fast forward to this evening, I am still experiencing pain in my stomach and called to see if they could prescribe a medication called Reglan, which helps people to empty their stomach if they're bloated or have gastritis. I was denied by the nurse, and by the doctor. I was told that if I was still in pain that I could come back and check in. What good would that do me? When I inquired as to why they would not prescribe a medication that is clearly non-narcotic, and not controlled, the nurse replied "He said no, that's all I can tell you". The only other information I gleaned is "He's an emergency room doctor. Follow up with your physician."

That's no excuse. In addition to not explaining my current situation OR telling me, "By the way, last time we scanned you, we found liver damage/liver disease and an enlarged spleen", they didn't give me anything to help my situation. I think I've been more than patient, especially to be told that the reason someone cannot write a prescription is because "they are an emergency room doctor". Not good enough. I'm sitting here, ready to vomit, and they refuse to help.

When they send me a bill wanting a few thousand dollars for their time and trouble, I'll tell them that I "said no." It might be in their best interest to contact me and work with me before asking for money.

Not satisfied. One star (I would leave zero if I could). Patients beware.

I went here in extreme pain only to be sent away with Ibuprofen and NO Antibiotics which is exactly what I needed. They treated the situation like I was a drug seeker, no doubt. The first doctor was extremely rude and said it sounded like it was nothing serious. I m so glad I didn t listen to him and listened to my body. I had to spend so much money there to get no answers. I went to the regular doctor and tested positive for bacteria and showed signs of infection. People still need help and they still have REAL pain. What is wrong with you?

I would recommend any family member or friend to have their surgery at Dallas Medical Center. The staff was very professional and personable and went beyond the call of duty to make the patient's family as comfortable as possible in the waiting areas. I would like to give a special commendation to Kent Cunningham (Liason) who was very helpful to my family members in so many ways. We appreciate your kindness and professionalism

ZERO stars !!! I only selected a single star because they wouldn't post the review without one...

most of the staff was rude and unsympathetic... my wife, having chest pains at work, was taken by ambulance to this hospital by DFD...
1.) The girls at the emergency entrance reception desk were completely clueless - told me my wife wasn't there... even after going into the back to physically check... I finally got my wife on her cell and she told me what room she was in - girls at reception still saying she wasn't there...
2.) the girl drawing blood seemed to be on meth or some other drug and pushed through my wife's veins twice before twisting the needle around inside her hand until she got blood - VERY unprofessional...
3) the first doctor, Hailey, seemed to be knowledgeable but rushed through the initial exam even though there was only two other patients there...
4) the head nurse, Vicky, was very kind and very professional...
5) there was a male nurse who responded when my wife called the station about large bubbles in her IV - he was a complete A$$ and told her he didn't have time to explain it to her and walked out of the room in a huff, again as if they were busy when there was a total of three patients in the ER...
6) the second doctor was rude and more interested in arguing about 'the evils of vaping' than gathering information about her chest pains...

DO NOT USE THIS HOSPITAL !!! you'll have better luck at the PrimaCare down the road !!!

If you have a choice avoid this place at all costs. Went there in 2011 for severe chest pains . After an ER doctor cleared me of any possible heart attack they insisted I check in for more monitoring. I can understand that -but what monitoring -someone should have been monitoring them. I was put on a nitro drip in case of heart issues which gave me migraines more severe than I have ever had - but when you called the nurse for migraine med's they waited hours before they came. Also they insisted I have an angiogram by their cardiologist . I was black and blue on both legs -looked like I had been butchered - he couldnt find a vein for the IV tube for the dye. We tried to check out after I survived that ordeal. The cardiologist had to sign the check out papers, and he could not be found for over 8hours. Finally showed up and signed the papers with no work release or driving until I came back and saw him in his personal office. Not about to go see that butcher again. Found another cardiologist who checked me out thoroughly and cleared me for work and driving. Then I had to beg them for my bill before it showed up as late payments. Got the bill five months later , had to clear it up again in two months later , and just now had to clear it up again after they "accidentally" turned it over to a collection agency. What a living nightmare. Run / drive / skip, walk some where else -do not go here. PS. Still waiting for the cot they promised to my friend who had to sleep on the floor for four days, while they were on their way back with the cot .

Went to the ER about two weeks ago and they just seemed to want to get me in and out. Sent me home in pain and ended up misdiagnosing me. The doctor didn't even care to stick around to explain his diagnosis.

Because five days later I went to a different hospital where they performed more in depth tests and actually took the care to find out what was wrong. Ended up having surgery.

The issue could have been found out sooner if the ER staff and doctor actually took the time and care to do the right tests and not just treat me like someone looking for pain medication.

I will not be returning to this hospital because I feel they didn't care about the health issues I was having. And since I found out what was really going on at a different hospital resulting in having surgery (and now doing much better), I don't have trust in Dallas Medical Centers staff to do the right thing and take care of me.

My experience there was fine. I got in fast, was treated well and sent on my way. I was out of state, therefore was told they would send me a bill and I would have to submit that to insurance myself. Well, it was an emergency and mine and my baby's life were in danger so I agreed.

6 months later I finally received a bill with no information whatsoever except for the amount due. I called and requested an itemized bill that I would be able to submit to insurance.

Another 7 months later I finally received the itemized bill. Bill was submitted to insurance.

And here we are again 6 months later, calling me demanding payment.

GET YOUR ACT TOGETHER, BUSINESS OFFICE!!!!!!!!!!

Stop waiting 6 months in between contact. I've been under the impression that the bill was paid for the last 6 months and incredibly irritated with this ER.

Next time I have an emergency, I'd rather drive back to my home state and get care there. RIDICULOUS!!

I came through the ER at Dallas Medical Center May 11, 2014 and required surgery on my right ankle. The ER staff was very professional and quick to get me the help I needed. The Dr Kyle Stuart and OR staff was called in on a Sunday, and Mother's Day no less, and was so comforting and really made me feel as if everything would be ok. I especially want to recognize Dwight from the OR as I was in tears as they rolled me into the operating room and he held my hand and told me everything would be ok. He even came to my room to check on me the next day since he knew how upset I was.

The emergency room is horrendous! I went in because I had painful hives all over my body. We went at 3 am on a random weekday and it took so long to get out of an EMPTY waiting room to the back. Once there we waited another 45 minutes to be seen by a physician. When the doctor came in he didn't even look at my skin! He just asked if I had been anywhere weird that day or ate anything different then walked out. He didn't even tell us his name...nothing! I thought I would be able to get a steroid shot because of my pain, but he sent me out with prescriptions...at 4 am. -_- I even explained that pharmacies were closed and I just needed something to decrease the hives so I would be able to sleep. Nope. So I had to wait to get the steroid filled. What was the point of going to the ER? None. I could have waited until the morning to see my PCP for the crappy care that I got here. Also, they apparently send two bills for care here. One doctor bill and one hospital. They NEVER sent me a doctor bill so it went on to my credit and I was denied a student loan. Thanks Dallas Medical Center for making me more miserable than I started out.

Unbelievably terrible. Chest pain, shortness of breath. The Dallas Fire Dept. insisted they bring me here due to "protocals." Many tests in ER for 8 hours, then admitted for 4 days. Numerous expensive and dangerous tests, including a heart catherization. The chest CT missed 8 pulmonary nodules and a possible AV fistula, even though I told them about that history, they ignored it. Dismissed on day #4. No diagnosis; nothing ruled out, no information provided whatsoever. Four days later (business days) there is no physician report on the heart cath. Called the physician office; it has been one day and they have not returned the call. Do not trust this hospital--you could lose your life if you do.

If you ever go to this hospital, keep your receipts for life time, otherwise you will get called everyday all day for the payments you already made.

After you read all the other awful reviews of this establishment, read about Christopher Duntsch and the Dallas Medical Center's inability to report him for seriously maiming or murdering patients. The hospitals (there are multiple) complicit in these acts displayed a blatant disrespect for public safety. Everyone should know.

My dad had gotten a foot infection and needed surg...

My dad had gotten a foot infection and needed surgery. Originally we were impressed that they were very swift about getting him checked in and getting the treatment he needed and also seemed very courteous. The problem, however, was when his case worker gave us the wrong diagnosis, claiming my father would need six weeks of rehabilitation care and multiple expensive antibiotic IV's at one of the doctor's facilities (which turned out to be a rat hole). In actuality, the infection was nearly cured and had not gone to the bone as they had previously told us. They never showed us the x-rays or test results, and they never offered us any information on any other possible treatment facilities or out-patient care. Then they moved him to the other facility a day early after being specifically told by the surgeon and other doctors reviewing his case not to move him or change his bandages until they had seen him and cleared him to be released or transferred. We removed him from the facility immediately after seeing how bad it was. We called the surgeon who met with us and reviewed the situation and revealed the results of all the test and surgeries, and said he had advised against Dad needing any further medical attention aside from antibiotics. He notified us that the other doctors/nurses never informed him about the circumstances involved in my fathers case, which could have led to further harm. It really seemed like they were just out for money. They were very shifty. Didn't follow any of the surgeons orders, and failed to keep us informed properly.

Didn't not understand any of the nurses or doctors...

Didn't not understand any of the nurses or doctors. My mother was deathly ill and they would ask her things and she would look at me and my sister and we would have know idea what the staff were saying. Their accents were so heavy that it made this experience bad. I believe the VA that I go to in oak cliff is better. My mom was there a few days before going to hospice to die. My sister would not leave but stayed there the the whole time my mother was there. When it can time to take her to hospice they could not find the DNR or anything. The transport company named Allied Transport they used were also rude and incompetent. That's another story! My mother was there towards the middle to end of June 2016 and every time I pass by this hospital on a daily basis in my way home from work I see they have this big sign stating top 15 health systems in the nation. I highly suggest you take your loved ones elsewhere. I do not blame them for my mothers death at all because she was stubborn and never went to the doctor and it was the cancer that did it. However the staff could have been more capable at communicating and when I say that not all of the patients are Hispanic or from India. We always felt like we lost something in the translation of heavy accents.

I would advise against going here if you have an immediate emergency or want top of the line assistance, the staff is quite slow. There were some great people here, one by the name of Bobbie, but for the most part they move slow and some don't even know what they are doing. I don't care to share the details of my visit because it was for a family member, but I did not like how quick they were to walk away rather than help, and I also did not care for how little attention they paid to the chart. I had to remind the staff 3 times of my family member's allergies and process needed to give medicine.

I had ACL reconstructive surgery on my knee in Jul...

I had ACL reconstructive surgery on my knee in July of 2014. For my outpatient Physical Therapy I chose Dallas Medical Center, primarily due to its proximity. The therapists that assisted me were Alphonse and Kenyatta. I was treated very compassionately during my appointments. Hillary Stuart, as your unit's secretary, made the scheduling a flexible and obtainable process, despite the fact that in addition to the injury; I suffered the untimely death/loss of my sister.
The staff took into consideration my emotional wellbeing, in addition to the physical limitations. Understanding it was a 'package deal'; they counseled me on two levels. I was at a low, it would have been very easy to just throw in the towel, and not work with them; to not participate and therefore slow my recovery and return to work. The consistent encouragement enabled me to work even harder, and become what I proudly report as being one of their "poster' children..Only 'child' hardly fits the profile, as I was 63 at the time of my accident, and there was some speculation, by my surgeon, as to whether it would be feasible to reconstruct, when 'I would probably need a knee replacement..down the road'.
It took a surgeon (Dr. William G. Hurt at All-Star Orthopaedics) who listened to me, and a staff like Dallas Medical Center Outpatient Physical Medicine, to 'walk' me through the steps. I Thank-You from the bottom of my heart for 'being there' for me at such a difficult stage of my life.
Most Heartfelt Thanks!

[10:02 AM] Cardena,Rhonda
My husband had back surgery last Friday. He came into Recovery and I was able to see him for about an hour. His top lip was extremely swollen and when asked what happened, we were told it was where the Tube was in his mouth. Really! His Face and lip are still swollen 3 day later and he has places on his Face where it looks like they ripped tape off and it tore his skin? He was taken up to his room Friday at about 7, due to Covid restrictions, I was not allowed up to the Floor. So, from Friday at 7 until they brought him out yesterday I couldn't see him. He was a Fall risk the whole time so couldn't get up without assist. Saturday morning, I called and asked him if anyone came to help with brushing teeth, general clean up, face wash, assist with Breakfast because he couldn't really sit up yet. Nope! Brought his breakfast in a to go bag and dropped it on the table. No one was offering to even bring him a way to wash his hands. He was given a urinal and left with it. They would empty it but not clean out, so it smelled. When he asked if they would bring sanitizer or wipes for him to wash his hands, they brought kleenex. He dropped his mask on the floor, when the MA came in he asked her if he could have another because he dropped his, She asked :you don't want to use this one.?" Really???! I'm just so mad! NEVER Leave anyone alone in this hospital. Apparently, the Staff had not had Basic Hygiene Training and certainly has no compassion or concern for the patient. Tell me how allowing at least 6 strangers float in and out of his room, including Kitchen staff is safer than allowing a Family member who has been locked down at home with him is Safer?! I have called the Administrator and was sent to voicemail. Let's see if I get a call back! And Yes, I did complain to the Surgeon.

The Dr. is awful. I m in excruciating pain and No relief. Absolutely no concern for my health or comfort. I have to ask for tests to be done because I know something terrible is wrong with me.

Follow up:
I actually went to another hospital the same day and they had to admit me because I have a complicated infection that can only be treated with IV antibiotics. The infection I have is deadly. If I would have just trusted the quack Dr. at Medical Center of Dallas I would be dead right now. They should lose their license. That hospital is a joke! I will report them. Thank God for good Dr.s that actually care about patients.

Regarding the Physical Therapy Department. You can expect them to bill insurance long after the treatment, approx 3 months. By then it is too late, you will realize that their charges are reduced a little by insurance and you are left with multiple large bills. They insist that you need to make multiple visits to "learn" exercises.
Hillary Stuart mislead me as to the bill amount at the beginning of the treatment. Why not be honest and let patients know the true cost???

My husband's surgery was scheduled for 4.30pm and we were asked to check in at 2.00pm. When we went there, no one had a clue and kept sending us to different areas. Then they said they were trying to get authorization from our insurance for overnight stay, even though our doctor had clearly indicated it was Outpatient Surgery.
After making us wait for more than 4 hours, they said they do not have the right equipment to do the procedure and told us to go to Fort Worth hospital!
Never ever seen such an inefficient, incompetent hospital in the US.
Felt like we were in a poor, third world country!

I rushed to the ER when I was pregnant back in March because I was having high blood pressure and I was very swollen. I was supposed to deliver at Parkland but this hospital was closer to me so my husband took me here. They where quick on taking care of me even though this was not my hospital. I ended up delivering here because I had advanced preeclampsia. They took amazing care of me before, during, and after delivery. They would check on me every 30 min to an hour and right away after I called them.Everyone was so nice (except for one nurse who doesn't even matter) to me, my husband, and family who came to see me before baby was born. My baby did stay in the NICU for 3 weeks and I cannot thank his doctor and nurses enough for taking care of him since I couldn't be with him while I was recovering. Definitely recommend this hospital.

-Post surgical care was excellent and follow ups experience has been positive so far...

Dr. Sophia Rahman (9 Medical Parkway, Plaza 4, Suite 301) took over Dr. Charles Loehr's practice when he retired. Though he was a proponent of seasonal allergy steroid shots, she does not believe in them and will not provide them to her patients. It would have been nice to know this before I wasted my time and money going to her for a preemptive attack on a sinus infection. Maybe she's one of the fortunate ones who doesn't suffer from this affliction, but her objection is reason enough for me to seek a new primary care physician, as allergies are predominantly why I schedule emergent visits. Otherwise, she was great when I went to get my flu vaccination.

It is ultimately up to the patient to verify their own insurance benefits; but I let the patient know if there will be a deductible payment, a copayment, or a co-insurance amount they will be responsible for. I am only able to make an estimation of how much services will be if there is a co-insurance, and I inform every patient with a co-insurance of this. I am sorry you may have forgotten that I explained this to you (as I do for all of our patients). At the end of the day we ensure our billing is correct, but we cannot guarantee payment by your insurance company.

I have never felt so mistreated in my life. I had always came to this facility . even brought my son and my mother because i had always thought this hospital was the best and super friendly . but today i was proved wrong !!! I went in feeling completely horrible . mind you im 17 so im under age and i went in with my cousin and of course they needed consentment from my mom so they called but the nurse asked my mom for her social and started asking her all these question i complete understand so i didnt say anything but then this nurse so called "julie" attented me and asked me the basic question they ask you at the hospital. She asked about my weight and i was very unsure how much was my weight so i told her around 14t and she looked at me up and down and said you look like you weigh 170. I looked at her in shock but i still said nothing i just thought in my head wow am i really this big ? I disregarded that and she then asked me how tall i was and i asked her if she could measure me and she mugged me and did it in a bad attitude . i stood against the wall and she kept moving my head very roughly. I still said nothing but kept thinking about how much i needed this treatment so i then sat down . not to kid you she yelled at me to scoot up . by then i very angry at what was happening so i told her to not treat me like that and she acted as if it was completely normal to treat patience like so. So i then told her i was going to leave and she said "good" and i then left the room but felt so livid so i went to find other nurses to see what we could do and one nurse offerd to treat me and after all i was still in pain so i said yes and she got me a room. I went in waiting for the doctor still trying to not remeber what had just happened and the doctor came in and it was just a nightmear. As soon as he walked in i felt the tension. He then started asking me question about how i felt while staring at the tv not acknowledging my pain. He then asked for a nurses assistance and to my luck he brought in julie. At this point i felt as if everything was done on purpose because not only the nurse was unprofessional but the doctor the face that represents this facility was also very very rude. I then asked him if he could please ask another nurse to attend me because i did not feel comfortable with her and he said "no i choose what nurse attends who " i then just stayed quiet and felt so missrable and completely regreted coming here . i told him i did not feel comfortable and he said "do you want me to attend you or not if not i have other patience" . i waited for the doctor to leave the room with julie and i felt this facility in pain . livid i had to deal with this experince and the fact that the doctor was in this was such a disgrace. The doctors name was "abdo" . only one of the staff memebers actually cared and his name was david he was in the front and saw everything and i could feel that he was in shock as well. I hope something is done about these two because that is very unacceptable and it just says alot about this facility .

THE FACT THAT THIS HOSPITAL HAS SO MANY BAD REVIEWS SAYS SO MUCH HOW THINGS ARE NOT JUST A ONE TIME THING AND THAT NOTHING IS BEING DONE TO FIX THIS HORRIBLE HORRIBLE SERVICE.*****

The nursing staff has been nothing but wonderful, ...

The nursing staff has been nothing but wonderful, but otherwise, this is the worst hospital we've ever utilized. In a three day stay, the following occurred:

We had no AC for 24 hours on a 90 degree day.

They FORGOT TO FEED my husband three out of the nine meals - just didn't bring him anything.

The times they did feed him, he received the same exact meal for dinner one day, and lunch the following day - a dry hamburger - no sides, no dressing, no drink - a dry hamburger.

I paid this hospital for meals AND went out to get him food several times because the food wasn't edible.

We sat in a room and didn't see a doctor for a full day.

The tests we were told were to happen one day didn't happen until the following day - after we reminded them the test didn't happen - they had no idea.

IVs were left to alarm for more than a half hour in most cases,

Fire alarms went off regularly for over an hour before they fixed them.

Don't go here - just don't. You'll be sorry.

My mother was in the hospital for 6 days without DMC ever verifying her current meds with her medical POA. Six days on a med that had been discontinued MONTHS ago because it made her pass out! Then they sent her to rehab because she was too weak to go home! Is this how you want YOUR family treated???

The worst experience I have ever had at an emergency room. I was told I was a level 4 emergency and then had to wait three hours to see a Dr. Tim. He gave me no medication and told me to wait out my condition as even though it was so urgent (level 4) they had to way to help me or care to see that I improve: completely inadequate and unprofessional. Don't go there they are only out to make money.

I would like to give this hospital a better rating...

I would like to give this hospital a better rating due to some friendly staff (Insey, Keyonia, and Maria) but I must properly inform the public. The procedure I had has gone well so far, but I would not have gone through with the operation if another well known surgeon did not assist. Your experience depends on your initiative to get things done. There seemed to be too many inexperienced nursing staff for my comfort, as I had two Registered Nurses blow my veins when attempting to start a new IV. The environment was bit unprofessional for my taste. It is a much older hospital that needs a lot of TLC with regards to maintenance and cleaning. Unfortunately, like any other practice, you will meet those physicians who are not personable at all. I would have rather gone to a hospital where the environment was a bit more comfortable and welcoming. My bad experience is really speaking to the Day Surgery Department.

My 2 siblings and grandmother had a doctor appoint...

My 2 siblings and grandmother had a doctor appointment with Dr. Dobariya. When I entered the doctor's office no one was at the front desk. As I was checking myself in Maria came out and she appeared to annoyed by my presence. I took a seat and Maria came out and told me that Dr. Dobariya wouldn't see my siblings because i was not their legal guardian. I explained to her that I was 26 years old and their sibling. She said ok and rudely handed me forms to fill out. As I'm filling out the forms, Maria came back out to tell me again in front of the patients in the waiting room that Dr. Dobariya wouldn't see my siblings because I wasn't their legal guardian. I explained to her that my sister is not a new patient of Dr. Dobariya and my grandmother was here as well to be seen. She dismissed me by walking away and saying ok several times very rudely. What makes the situation even worse is she bahaved this way in front of her manager and I'm a DMC/Prime employee. I was so embarrassed because I didn't want my siblings to see me get out of character. Maria was very rude, unprofessional and she handled the situation very poorly. I understand rules and I wasn't upset about the doctor not wanting to see the kids due to the fact that I'm not their legal guardian. I'm upset by the way the situation was handled. Shame on Dr. Dobariya for hiring an individual who clearly lacks morals and ethics. I thought healthcare providers were supposed to deliver quality treatment to patients and family members but I didn't receive quality treatment. I will never refer nor use Dr. Dobariya seviceagain. I would rather utilize my Tier 2 insurance through BCBS and pay the extra money than use Dr. Dobariya services. Horrible experience and horrible staff.

If you're coming here for an ER visit be for warned things here move in slow motion.....really reconsider your option(s). For children I suggest childrens hospital & for adults check yourself if you can wait to see your provider reconsider please. Been here on two occasions & I ask myself why do it again....you think its a hospital right? You're going to get prompt attention right? Lots of professionals? Not my case! I will have an ER plan from now on & suggest you do the same. I never saw any urgency nor hospitable from the nurses. I don't think their current plan is working FYI

This has to do strictly with happenings in the patient registration area. As I waited for my daughter to complete registration for surgery, I observed on three separate occasions, a man walking through the waiting area wearing his mask under his chin instead of on his face. Since he wore a hospital badge, I asked an employee who he was as was shocked to find that he was the supervisor/ manager of Patient Registration. This is the same person who is expected to set an example but did not appear to care about the safety of the visitors or his employees. Shame on you Odell.

My name is Meredith Autry, I am writing to inform of the excellence of an ER doctor named Dr. Timm. For over a decade - my family and I have lived very close to this hospital. I honestly only kept going back there for "emergency" situations due to convenience, I found the hospital drab and the staff there was miserable and couldn't be less empathetic. Nonetheless, years ago my son got his arm cut open to the point of needing both internal and external sutures...Dr. Timm, was thankfully, there and this was my first encounter with him. He calmed me down with calmness and genuine caring for the situation and what my son and I were feeling. After Dr. Timm had completed treating my son he made us feel even more at ease with his humorous and very pleasant bedside manner. Time went on and I had to be taken to the ER and treated by again, good ole Dr. Timm..even in pain I asked if he was on staff and luckily for me he was...I was diagnosed with diverticulitis and was given in depth instruction both verbally and on hard copy of what to possibly expect and what foods to avoid for possible future flare ups. I did as instructed and discovered his suggestions were right on. Just last week, I thought it was another flare up of diverticulitis- and low and behold, Dr. Timm, (yay!!) was on duty again, took all measures to get me out of pain and complete my exam in a timely manner, again, with the same comfort, upbeat vibe he is always dependable to give. Dr. Timm said I needed my gall blatter removed and said he personally (of course, after being asked for a recommendation) referred me to a wonderful surgeon...thank you Dr. Timm U R THE BEST!!!!!!

Stay far away!!

Stay far away!!
I went in for a knee injury after not being able to move my knee when I woke up and it was a complete joke. (Sidenote: I have a great insurance policy under my father, and am on no gov't assistance.) I'm not from Dallas so I didn't know which ER to go to. This one happens to be close to my house. But next time I'll drive to Texas Health in Plano. I was able to go right back to a room as there was no wait on Saturday morning- there were no people in the ER. But I waited in the room for quite some time. The doctor came in with complete arrogance, and was frankly quite rude. I knew something was wrong and he tried to downplay my injury. He let me know that there was nothing they could do for me as "they don't do MRI's" at that hospital. That I needed a referral for that and I "just wasn't going to get one from that hospital."
I tore my acl and meniscus in 2006 and after several injuries to my knee, I know an MRI is what I needed. How does a hospital NOT do MRI's?! Maybe because it's privately run? Who knows! They gave me an X-Ray and of course it cleared, because the bone was not the issue! They proceeded to wrap my knee with an ace bandage and sent me on my way recommending a doctor in Ennis. AN HOUR SOUTH of DALLAS! What sense does that make??! There are so many orthopedic doctors here in Dallas, there was no reason for a referral down in Ennis. My problem lies in that when I came in telling you that I believe I tore something in my knee, at that point lights should have gone off in your head as a medical professional that she most likely will need an MRI and we don't do those. At that point, the circus should have been skipped and I should have been referred to another hospital. They wasted my time, my money, my patience and couldn't do anything for me. After talking to some friends that are medical professionals that work at another hospital, I was told that they had never heard any good things or reviews from this hospital. NEVER going back and would NEVER recommend this place.

They have a weird policy and the funny and scary part is nurses don't have doctors phone number during emergency. So now make your own decision what you think. That was my 1 of the issue during my doctors stay after operation .

Sorry excuse for a hospital. The doctors and staff...

Sorry excuse for a hospital. The doctors and staff are rude, uncompassionate, and unprofessional. If you have a loved one who has a MENTAL DISABILITY STAY AWAY FROM HERE!! my sister (28yo) is autistic and has mental retardation, and had surgery here. On her discharge papers it clearly stated that if she developed a fever of 100 or more to bring her in for medical attention. Well two days after her surgery she developed a fever of 102.6 so I quickly brought her in. When they put her in a room she became very anxious, she began to cry she just wanted to go home. She has the understanding of a 3 year old. The nurse that attended to us was very rude and cold. The doctor told me just to take her home and give her Tylenol! I told him that my mother has guardianship of her and if she needed to be given a sedative to do so, so they could examine her to make sure she is ok. he said "We cant do that, she needs to be calm, nurses don fight with patients its for the safety of our nurses." my sister was not aggressive just anxious. I asked what hospital I should take her to where they will actually treat her. he told me that "No hospital is going to treat her if she is not calm, no nurses fight with patients." He just kept telling me that. I told him what if there was something seriously wrong with her?...developing a fever after a surgery does not sound like a good thing. He said "Sorry, we cant do anything. Take her home, calm her down and bring her back." the problem is she will calm down but as soon as she is in a room she will become anxious because she is scared. So we left with nothing done to make sure my sister was ok. People like my sister that can not communicate like we do, they suffer in silence. She can not tell me if she is hurting or what is hurting, I have to play guessing games with her. Is hard to take care of her when she is ill, and to be completely turned away because of her mental status is CRUEL! STAY AWAY FROM THIS GOD FORSAKEN "HOSPITAL"!!!

I was seen here twice in the ER. Both times the wait was short and I was seen quickly. The first doctor I saw was really nice and helpful. The other doctor didn't have a great bedside manner, but both times I was taken good care of and the nurses were great. I would recommend this hospital.

I would just like to point out what a great job one of the employees did today! I was referred from a smaller clinic because they were unable to find a vein on my arm. I was dreading being poked again, but the phlebotomist Matilda, (main building in the lab next to the ER) greeted me with a warm smile! She genuinely looked happy to be there and made me feel very comfortable. It took no time at all and she found my vein with incredible ease. She is great at her job and an asset to the Dallas Medical Center! Thank you
