Great campground, super clean and a very friendly staff. Location is very convenient to many of the Twin Cities southern amenities. My family and I very much enjoyed the mountain bike trails that were a short ride from the campground. It's a great place to use as a home base for MN excursions.

Great location, clean facilities but was a bit disappointed that we weren't told in advance about no laundry facility available when we registered. Otherwise, it is a very nice park. We highly recommend it to newbies.
Considering you are so close to the city this is actually a very nice campgrounds. The tent sites felt secluded and had nice tree coverage. Wish it was closer to the lake! Out of the two Dakota Parks campgrounds, this one the other out of the water.
Great place to camp and stay close to the cities. The campgrounds are clean and quiet. Check in/ out was a little difficult and took @ 20 minutes for both, but they were very friendly and helpful.
Pretty nice place. Bathroom Facilities are usually very clean and pretty quiet in the campgrounds (tent are. There is a playground next to the bathroom facilities and an open area for yard games next to that. I haven't been on the trails yet so I can't say what they're like.
We stay here often. My husband and I especially love camping in our travel trailer in the electric only section because the spots are more private. They do also have full hookup, but those spots are closer together. The rough camping area, with no electric or water, have nice private spots as well. The bathrooms are super clean and the staff is friendly. There is also a nice playground here for kids and it's close to lots of different types of trails. Three is even a bike park a little north down the street from here.
An excellent campground! WE stayed in the East Loop and had a perfect site 83. Very clean and centrally located bathrooms. And a great playground that is very up to date. The staff is extremely friendly and went out of their way to help us! We will be returning soon!!
i have not had any problems when I was here. It seems the two one star comments were very loud because no one ever approached us about noise. That is also not a reason to rate it one star. And the poop comment well that is not the fault of the park. Dog owners need to clean up after their dogs. No park state or otherwise hires people to pick up poop. When you review a park do not let your anger over stuff you did wrong get in your way. If someone came to you it was because a camper complained. The park is nice the bathrooms are clean.
Our stay was 8/2/13 to 8/4/13. The park was clean, well lit with good facilities. The west loop is very cramped with no brush between the lots. The campers are parked so close it looks like a sales lot. We were instructed by the Dakota County Sheriffs (DCS) office that we absolutely can not park off the gravel. We were a part a group with teen-agers. Quiet time was 10 PM, which we were. But unfortunately the DCS office definition of quiet and the rest of the world differs. Both kids and parents were harassed, threatened and given citations for being too loud. The camp sites in the east loop are very private with lots of brush between the lots so very little sound can come from one another. The central area in the east loop is great with playground equipment. This would be a good for individuals that need total quite at 10 PM, for the rest of the world, DON"T GO!
Clean, safe, quiet setting, well managed, all amenities, plenty to do, water parks, Minnesota Zoo, Mall of America, lots of trails. Find myself going back several times a year. Love this place.
I stayed in the East loop with electric very spacious area with woods around it. Nice clear walkway to the restroom facilities very clean and modern warm in October one of the nicest campsites I've ever been to.
Lebanon Hills Campground is an awesome experience. Staff is wonderful and helpful the bathrooms are one of the cleanest we have seen and we have been camping 30+ years. Close to Minneapolis and many other sites. We would definitely recommend a stay here and we would definitely be back.
Lovely campsite. We stayed in the East Loop that has tent sites with electricity. There are also two more loops, one for RVs and another for primitive camping (tent site with no electricity). Our camping site came with a picnic table, electric outlets, and a water station just outside our spot. Located :/ the center of the East Loop is the communal building with restrooms and showers, along with a playground. The grounds and amenities are well taken care of and clean. The campgrounds also features hiking/skiing trails and a lake for swimming.
One downside is the lack of data signals, despite being close to Bloomington, with the only WiFi area in the campgrounds being for the West Loop (RV camping).
Remember to bring bug spray because the mosquitos are intense.
We stayed with my parents and siblings. The sites were private and the bathrooms clean. I really liked the handicap accessibility of the showers. There were rabbits every where! The staff were attentive and friendly!
nice park. restroom has one nice shower and one toilet. reservation a must-have. next to extensive trail system. sites close together in north loop. farther apart in east loop, which doesn't have sewer hookups.
Very nice campground with great mountain biking nearby. The camping loop without water and sewer hookups have very spacious sites. Also nice that this place is so close to the cities.
Really well maintained. We stayed over a week and they were cleaning the bathrooms every day and during the day. Would recommend that larger bathrooms be added. The bathrooms were really nice but only a couple of stools and one shower. The staff is the best.
Although the hiking is good, you cannot enjoy the whole camping experience. We were having a campfire and talking with another couple when at 9:15 pm we were approached by park staff telling us we were being too loud. Less than 15 minutes later, an Eagan police office drove up to our site reporting a noise complaint. This was very disappointing to us as we were not being loud. Although the rules say quiet time starts at 10 pm, it is to the parks discretion as to when it begins. As a result, we will not be returning as I fear that if I had my children with me, we could get in trouble if we were to be having a fire and making smores and being too loud.
This is a hidden gem in the Twin Cities if you have a camper and want to camp close to home. The sites are spaced out nicely and it is amazingly quiet considering where is located you would never know you are 10 minutes from 35E we will definitely come back here for some quick weekends! It has about 58 full hook up spots for campers and another 20 or so for dry camping.
Easy check-in, even during social distancing. The campground host was familiar with surrounding activities, what was open and what was not, though she urged up to double-check. Bathrooms and showers clean. Firewood available on site, but must be purchased electronically, as they will not handle money at this time. Paths and driving area well kept, tent campsites nicely wooded for privacy. However, the main road is close enough that you can hear traffic at all times of the night, even if you can't see it. The beach was open, but boat rentals were not, which was unfortunate. Roadway in and out often blocked by campers unloading garbage in dumpster, which is directly on the main road. Better placement of dumpster would be helpful. Fireflies were EVERYWHERE, beautiful!
Very nice sized lots with great amenities. While small it's a very nice park. Their office accepts both cash and credit which is nice if you don't always carry cash on you. The park itself is in very nice shape and is obviously well taken care of. The bath house is also nice and very clean. They offer 50amp power here and sewer at your plot which is really nice. They also give you three bags when you check in; trash, recycling and compost. I thought this was great as most places do not offer compost options. Would certainly visit again.
We are so happy to have found this campground! It is beautiful and clean. The office staff is very friendly. Wonderful trails to walk or jog in the park. Love it!
The place is absolutely gorgeous! Clean, neat and we'll kept. The bathroom and shower house are spotless and modern. Very quiet and peaceful. The campground with full hookups was full but the only electric was well open. We stay at the end of May don't know busy it will be later in the season. Perfect place to stay if you need to do something in the Twin Cities. Only 25 minutes from the airport and 35' from downtown Minneapolis.
I'd say it's quite above average. Very clean. Nice and quiet. The office staff are friendly and welcoming. The rules in-place are appropriate and fair.
Great, completely wooded RV (and camping) sites. Unlike many parks where the RV sites are basically in a parking lot with the occasional tree, there are many RV/camping spots that are surrounded by woods on 3 sides.
Our first visit to this Park - camped in the full hook up camp for five nights. Very well run camp though the sites are very small and offer zero privacy and no shade worth mention. We will surely camp there again but in the 'electric only" camp which is very nice in all ways - lots of privacy, much bigger sites and most are fully shaded - a good trade for all the other hook up's !
Facilities: pristine, modern, well maintained. Staff: incredibly friendly, helpful, knowledgeable Other campers: polite, helpful, neighborly Location: Horrible. Noisy. Unless you have quite a bit of white noise in your sleeping area be prepared to hear road traffic and airplanes all night long. It's incredibly noisy here, which is a huge put off for me when camping.
A very nice, no frills campground. Good sized, level, grassy sites, lovely retiree-aged hosts, extremely clean restrooms, sensible layout but few pull throughs (though the host helps you back in!) Extra-nice features: - You're presented with a full recycling "kit" on check in, with different colored bags one dumpsters for each of there types of trash. - Well tended asphalt pathway runs past the front of the campground...great for runners! TIPS: -Reserve in advance, especially in late August due to State Fair. -No pool, game room, or playground. If those are important to you, go elsewhere.
Just arrived late last night... looks like a wonderful park with lots of trails in the forest and around the lakes. The office is very organized, and staff extremely friendly.
Beautiful campground. The staff is always super nice and too friendly to be true! The showers/toilets are well kept, cleaned daily and spotless. Variety of sites to chose from shaded to not shaded. Price is excellent and can't beat the location. 30 mins to the cities max!
We spend every summer traveling around the country, so we have stayed at a TON of campgrounds. But I think this is the nicest one we've ever stayed at! Everything was clean and kept in great condition. We stayed in the east loop and the sites all had a lot of privacy (That wasn't the case in the other loop though). Our site was a good size and pretty level. The kids really enjoyed the playground!
Stayed here on a quick stop over on a longer trip. Beautiful campground, well laid out. Stayed in the east loop bc we only needed electric. Nice level site, decent space between sites, clean bathrooms, friendly staff. We will be back!
The campground and facilities were very nice. The location is perfect. 5 minutes from the zoo, 15 from the MOA. I used a tent site. They put wood chips down which was nice for moisture but make sure you have a good sleeping pad. The bathroom was always very clean. You can hear the traffic from the highway 24/7. I was disappointed in the policies on changing site. I booked online over a week before. I called to change sites to better accommodate my group. I was told I could not unless I forfeited the $8 per day reservation fee and the staff was rude on the phone. There is alot of Dakota county Police patrols, borderline too much. The staff is also very strict on the rules. One night a patrol car drove by and shined us with the bright side LED light. He then backed up and did it again. I did not appreciate this and don't understand the purpose. If we were too loud, get out of your car and let us know. Overall I would probably return though.
The only site we could get on short notice was in the large motorhome loop and it was only so-so. However, the park as a whole is a gem in the middle of the suburbs.
Great hiking trails, my boy's loved the park, showers n restrooms were clean. Dump station as u come in and exit. Think i paid 27 a night electricity only. All the full hook ups were booked. People at the campsite next to us could've put their dog on a leash tho kept scaring my 2 year old by popping up on us.
We live 5 miles away but we still LOVE to camp here. The East Loop is a perfect little escape. The staff is super friendly, the sites are large and secluded and there are great trails for biking and for hiking with the dogs.
Nice park, too many too close RVs. But dogs ok and lots of great trails. Non-full hook up areas were really nice and spacious. Guess RV people don t need a lot of camp space.
Great place to camp, they have RV, primitive and non primitive camp sites. Showers, bathrooms, and a laundry room. The staff is very friendly. Prices on campsites are fair.
