CWU Geology has very high standards and some of the most intelligent people in the world as professors. Its a wonderful establishment and truly awesome experience and I love the small town feeling of it known as the burg.
Pretty nice campus, and bigger than you'd think. They've been doing a lot of building. The Japanese Garden on the campus was an unexpected little oasis of serenity and green...
Amazing Geology program, filled with the some of the most intelligent members of the field. Professors legitimately care about student success and the curriculum is top notch. Additionally, the field trips are all well planned and very educational. The variety of geology in the area and the pacific northwest allows students to easily see many of the geologic features that most people have to travel for. Very high standards
My university and now home. Diverse population, friendly locals and lots of things to keep you busy. Vegan food is hard to find but easy enough to find vegetarian food. Strong music and science programs.
Fantastic learning environment! Lots of fun classes and great teachers. The town Rocks and the outdoors are even better! Pitch a tent, run in to classes and work, head back to camp all spring long.
Plus, it got me into one of the best companies on the planet, PCL.
With two Majors and two Minors I couldn t get enough!
I had a great time there. It's not for everyone but if you love the outdoors and being in a small town, it's a great school. My professors were knowledgeable and not too far left.
My alma mater, as of 1975. I considered it an optimal learning opportunity, and (at the time frame considered...) a quite reasonable investment. The only 'drawback' (at the time) being the regular 'business of life' [and unfortunately as well, death - Cancer, in Family]. Exigencies are unavoidable, and need to be addressed a.s.a.p., and can cascade into other further nets of decisions. I certainly did enjoy my stay there (the area, as well as the great University !). There was just never enough time to fully explore the many opportunities. If only one could repeat some experiences, possibly change some choices, and avail others... but then one could add that reflection to many things. If you have the 'wherewithal', it is highly recommended, not merely by myself, but many others. An EXCELLENT UNIVERSITY!!
This macrostructure, such as many others posted in a capitalistic society, hold human beings who are settled with the pursuance of monetary gain and dismiss what is truly important. My experience with particular human behavior representing Central Washington University is appalling and frankly pathetic at best. Placing dollars before student academic success is far beyond humiliation for those who are employed by CWU and behave as though they are actually helping people improve their lives. CWU is rated as one of the most egotistical, inflated and pretentious institutions in the united states. My recommendations for anyone contemplating enrollment at CWU is to please reconsider and apply elsewhere. One should be treated with dignity and respect, in an effort to better their lives. Thank you for making the student complaint process available, I will be filing! The one star should not be here! I give you zero stars!
Professors here genuinely care for their students' success, the campus is safe and always clean, and many opportunities if you put in the effort. Love this school and glad I chose to go here!
I went to college here and graduated in 1986 with a BA degree in Law & Justice and a minor in Psychology. These 4 yrs were some of the best yrs I have ever had!
Nice campus with nice people in the area. It feels like a small town and everyone seems to know everyone else. I like the campus. It was clean and the people were nice when I came here for camp.
