I used Cut Above Casting for about 2 years , they always had plenty of jobs for me during the busy season of filming. Their website and the whole process of accepting background work was very easy. Lisa is very nice and her employees were quick to respond to every question I had.
Overpriced and does not actively book with Central Casting. I do not recommend.
I moved to CA from TN and now I will be heading back home to the Southern bell sometime this week. It has been a long and hard journey for me and now I am happy I can reclaim my sanity. My hat goes off to everyone who can make this industry a long career. I ve learned many hard lessons. One that I wished I knew right when I landed here is that I have the power of choice to think, react, and feel about any situation at any moment. I have many reasons to be angry at Hollywood, life, and the industry right now but I choose to leave with the memory of the last cut above mixture I went to. No booking service or person operates like a well-oiled machine all the time. We all fall but the important thing is to get up and lift each other up. This is the Lisa and the moment I choose to remember when I get on the Greyhound bus to go back home.

Great service. I have no complaints. No...they aren't perfect...and neither am I. But they will work hard for you. Do your part and they will do theirs. I give them high marks for integrity and honesty. All booking services are not the same.

My experience with cut above casting has been a complete night mare.
Besides having my personal property taken from an on location production, by another CAC client, I was personally threatened by Stevie Shea, who casted me as background on a PORNO set.
I still haven't been paid and after speaking with STEVIE shea, Stevie made THREATS against me, that it will be highly NOTED of my attitude.
I have developed health issues because of the drama that Lisa Marquis treats her clients.
Lisa Marquis also suspended my account actually blocked me access to my profile out of revenge
Cuf above casting is only in it for the money and not in it to offer interest in her clients.

Most overpriced calling service in LA. She doesn't even book jobs through central casting-- where most of the BG work comes from.. I was paying$80 a month with her to be booked once a week on audience jobs.. not only that, she is psychotic
Horrible! Their lucky I had to put one star, Lisa is very bi polar. At first I thought she was sweet. Ha! Boy was I wrong. Even when she didn't book me a d*mn thing she still charged me. And she had the nerve to say she couldn't help it that I wasn't getting booked but what I found kind of odd was that I was getting booked by Uncut a lot. So don't waste your time with this nut job. She even texted me trying to curse me out but I warned her that she was messing with the right one.
Great service, have known Lisa, since before she started CAC. The team works hard for their clients!
I've been with Cut Above Casting for 5 years. In this business you get out it what you put into it. A lot of people think that a booking service means they don't have to do anything to secure other opportunities, which you should always be doing. Lisa, works hard to book as many of her as possible, as much as possible. Cut Above is very proud of the talent that they represent, and take a personal interest in each person on their roster. (Much more so than any of the services with larger rosters) Given the chance, anyone who wants to work in background acting will recognize, Cut Above Casting is a hands-on top-notch booking service.
