Wasn t on hold longer than 20 minutes. (I called at 9 a.m.) Representative was courteous and was able to update our address, get a new card sent out to us, and transfer our case to our new county. Was worried about all the negative reviews, but didn t have those issues.
They treat people like dogs because we need help I called for information and the receptionist was very rude and hung up on me after being on hold for over an hour working with these people is depressing I feel so defeated no one
Sat outside and filled out the paperwork was able to call and have my questions answered So besides them not allowing people into the building All went well I did call before I came and everything went as I was told it would....

I'd give ZERO stars if I could! Horrible service! They don't care about you or your child, just the paycheck! They are never willing to help, and never answer the phone! In the past week I've called numerous times about renewing my food stamps. I've called the main number and my caseworker in which my caseworker NEVER answers, and it take being on hold for like 45minutes to an hour to get an EXTREMELY RUDE individual on the phone to assist me. (Which they don't assist they just basically tell you it's your fault that you're in the situation you're in.) I've never had a person who works there be helpful. Now my case is closed and I have to reapply.... BECAUSE NO ONE WILL ANSWER THE PHONE AND TELL YOU WHAT INFORMATION I NEED TO GIVE THEM IN ORDER TO RENEW!!!!!!!!!!!!! AND WHEN THEY DO ANSWER THEY GIVE YOU A ROUND ABOUT ANSWER!
So far I have had a smooth transition, I moved from Sampson to Cumberland county about a month ago. They have transferred the case with no problem. Since I need other services, I put in contact with care services.
I have been other DSS offices and trust me with one so far has a 10. It's clean, the front is always polite, service was fast.
This year the county seems to be doing much better than years past, concerning phone calls. I have had courteous service with complete answers. Also it did not take very long to be able to talk to a live person. I have been having good experiences this year (2021).
I d rate a zero but can t. I have been trying to get on food stamps for the past month and a half was declined because NO ONE informed they were waiting on some more paper work from me. I turned in the paper work and still nothing. I have called the office numerous times and I get the run around saying call my case worker since everything wasn t turned in on time she had moved on to the next case blah blah blah, how was I suppose to turn everything in on time when I did NOT even know what needed to be turned in because NO ONE informed me. I have called my case worker more times than I can count and NO call back. I have emailed our case work and NOTHING. Her voicemail states she will call back within 2 business days and she has NOT returned my phone calls. If this was a product or a commercial I could sue for false advertisement. Now when I call I get all agents are busy with other callers message. DO BETTER!!!!
Actually today they did very well I got a response back within an hour of when I spoke to the woman at the desk and the lady was understanding and polite as she could be even though I am stressed out about my grandchildren and the whole situation
