We visited tonight, meeting my college daughter there. Gotta say the food was pretty good, but very disappointed in the wine. We had the aronconi of the day which was tasty, the truffle parm fries, which were missing the truffle, and then the mushroom goat cheese pizza. We also ordered the seasonal pizza which had sweet potato, sliced regular potato, and carrot on it. The pizzas were very good this restaurant is a higher end bistro so their wines were disappointing. All the red I had (Syrah, Sangiovese, and Nerello blend were dull and light bodied. Go for the food but stay with the wine by the bottle or hard liquor.
Cheers

Sometimes never change....which is a good thing here because their pizzas here are still one of top places in town. My favorite pizzas here are the Apizza Amore, which has margherita and Olympia Provisions Capicola. The combination of both these toppings are a must have! My other go to pizza here is the Sausage and Mama one. Fresh sausage with mama's peppers, also a great combo.

Not only was the food incredible, but the service was wonderful. We came during Restaurant Week. After not being able to decide, we order a pizza from the restaurant week menu (which included dessert) and then also a pasta dish from the main menu. Our pizza came, and we devoured, but then ended up waiting an awfully long time (at least 30 mins) for our pasta. When they brought our dessert, we knew that they had forgotten about it. Our waiter (who s name I cannot recall) was immediately apologetic and brought the pasta out right away. Even one of the managers came over to us and apologized, while taking the pasta off our bill for the night. Thank you for such a great meal and for the amazing service!

Best meal we ve had in years! After living in North Italy for 3 years, it s hard to find truly authentic creative dishes. This place crushed it. All four courses we chose were outstanding. We ll be back!

They told us it was an hour wait or find a place at the bar, which was fine. once we found a place at the bar, they told us to find another place because a family was waiting for that place, even though that place had been open for a couple minutes while we were looking.

CLASSY PLACE ! My wife and I arrived at the front desk around 6pm last Friday without a table reservation after we had walked out of a Solana Beach eatery which was too rowdy for our liking. They were kind enough to slot us into a spot at one of the community tables which suited our needs fine. Royce at the bar found me an ice cold Sculpin IPA and we were looking good. Our server Sergio was very professional and helped mold our choice of 2 Neapolitan pizzas which was what we were in the mood for. I might add we had never been here before having only just moved to Solana Beach. Despite the restaurant being absolutely packed to the rafters with probably over 300 diners our pizzas arrived within 5 minutes at our table. The pizzas looked incredible but tasted even better than we could have expected. Possibly the most delicate and sumptuous pizzas we have ever enjoyed. We just couldn't get over the sheer scale of this huge restaurant and how busy it was at only 6.30pm. Another beer from Sergio ...this time The Harlot Belgian Ale which was superb.Time for some dessert.... a very eclectic choice was offered and Justin brought one out for me. We enjoyed ourselves immensely and can't wait to come back with friends or family. On Thurs Oct 27th we came back with a friend visiting San Diego. It was absolutely packed when arrived about 6.30pm but Madison and Jordan at the front desk made an extra effort to find us some space at one of the long community tables. Ryan looked after our drinks and food. We had a great time !

Maybe this place was just too trendy for me? It's definitely a place to see and be seen. The food was okay. Overpriced. The service was friendly but just standard. And we kind of felt rushed as they kept trying to take our plates away even though we weren't done. We went on a Saturday and it was way crowded. The *long* line for a table runs inside along their retail shop and it just felt weird to be stared at as I ate. The wine was good.

We love this place! Had large community table for my birthday with kids and family friends (12 of us). Service was incredible, antipasti platter was amazing, cocktails were tasty, and all main courses were delicious. Their wine program is top notch, great selections and price points are reasonable. The only knock is the loud atmosphere, but we have been there many times so we know the drill. Everyone is having a good time and the wait staff was amazing!

We had a delicious dinner Saturday night. I had the Bucatini with guanciale and my wife had the short rib pasta with gluten free rotini. Both dishes had huge flavor with properly cooked pasta (al dente). We love this place and we usually sit in the community bar seating due to popularity of this place. The cocktails and wine are also great, as is the service.

A great place for tapas, wine, community dining, and people watching. You can buy a bottle of wine to drink at your table, for a very modest markup that beats most restaurants' corking charges. One downside is they don't take reservations.

My wife is 39 weeks pregnant and we decided to go to CUCINA as our 'last supper' before our first child is born. They nailed it.

Squash blossoms were phenomenal, mushroom risotto was incredible, and the Brussels sprouts were amazing too.

We've been here probably 7-10 times since they've opened, and we've had a great experience each time.

Killer wine selection as well.

I love this restaurant! There are so many good Italian restaurants in SD, but this one is one of my favorites. Plenty of vegetarian options. If you go with a group, it's fun to do tapas style and share a bunch of plates. The squash blossoms are incredible, as is the pizza and pasta. Good cocktails as well! Plenty of outdoor seating and heat lamps.

Great atmosphere - vibrant crowd, large bar area and plenty of tables. Food was amazing - highly recommend the Pappardelle. Service was fabulous, constant refilling of water, every need anticipated. When it came time to pay, our server didn't miss a beat asking if we wanted individual checks. I''ll be back and remember to take pics next time!

One if my favorite places is Cicina Urban where I have enjoyed numerous, delicious, well prepared meals. The polenta plate was disappointing in that the polenta was overcooked and the pork ragu was cool and not juicy. The pizza was okay and the sprouts were over charred with the dipping sauce too thick and spicy.
I guess I'm spoiled by Cicina Urban. The server, on the other hand, was excellent#

Came here tonight to celebrate my son s 19th birthday. I have heard of bad reviews previously from an acquaintance but decided to give it a try anyways. To my surprise, the reservation was easy on OpenTable, the hostess was friendly. The waiter was amazing. Food was great! We had Pork Oso buco, pepperdale short ribs, and cheese plate with a bottle of wine and drinks. We finished the meal with assorted sorbet and gelato sampler. Water was refilled as we drank, drinks was replenished as we dined. Can t ask for more.

Every time I come in here it is always busy! But yes you should try to come early. Happy hour 3-6 T-Sunday, and Monday 5-6 PM. RSVP is a must, if you're lucky you can find a spot upstairs at the bar.

The prices for HH are good, and the the quality food is delish too so def worth it. The chicken liver pate and the formaggi/salumi is a must.

This place is def filled with Manthers and Cougars daily. I mean there is nothing else happening in Del Mar this place is pretty popular in Flower Hill, especially now that they closed down Sea and Smoke.

Happy hour menu!!! Came for a farewell happy hour. Decor is very modern and beautiful. We got a variety of things- meatballs with polenta, pizzas, fries, eggplant bread, chicken pate, Brussel sprouts and some drinks. My cocktail wasn t great- it was way to bitter and had no taste but the food was great. The polenta in the meatballs were so buttery and succulent. It was cooked to perfection. It was also Thursday and they had specials on pizzas- we got the meat one with salami and other things- delicious. Good food overall.

First thing that surprises you is the entrance. You feel like you are entering a flower shop with planters and wall of succulents at the entrance. Once inside, the decor and ambience is weird in a nice way. There is no coherent concept with globes hanging on one side, strings of toy horses on another, pans on one side and murals of birds flying on another but together they capture your attention. The pistachio ravioli with saffron was amazing. We also ordered ice cream and sorbet sampler. I loved hibiscus ice cream and raspberry and mango sorbet.

We got a mix of different food here and everything was really good. I would highly recommend the Japanese burger wagsyu something like that burger because it was spot on. The meat ball was $9 for a meatball about the size of a fist and it was good, a little over priced on that for the portion size but the environment and how the place is decorated makes it worth it. We also had the burnt Brussel sprouts and that was a lot better then expected. The pizza was nice and crispy and well balanced, the fries were crispy too.. the ketchup wasn t normal flavored it had this twist to it and I couldn t tell you if it made it better, I guess it made me want more but I was pretty hungry already.

Great atmosphere and service is pretty good although inconsistent. They have a lot of regulars that garner more attention. Food is good and tasty although it depends on what you like. A lot of share tables and fantastic people watching.

The atmosphere is very unique and very fun I love all the decorations it's so pretty and the food is delicious on my first day here we ended up waiting an hour too long for our food but thanks to our bartender Israel the evening was saved he was fantastic and even got us a discount on all our food I recommend this for people looking for somewhere new and looking for good pasta and pizza

Oh my. If you closed your eyes and imagined being in Italy....well, okay, so not exactly Lake Como, but the food is authentic, the wine is deelish, varied, and available in abundance. The staff are nice, management is mostly attentive and parking relatively easy, considering. Try ANY of the Apps; they're amazing. Pssst: it's a great place to day drink, right Hector?
