About Cs energy
CS Energy: Empowering Queensland with Clean Energy
CS Energy is a leading energy company based in Queensland, Australia. With over 500 employees working across two power stations and a corporate office in Brisbane, the company is committed to generating and selling electricity in the National Electricity Market while also promoting a clean energy future.
At CS Energy, we believe that access to reliable and affordable energy is essential for economic growth and social development. That's why we are dedicated to providing our customers with sustainable solutions that meet their energy needs while also reducing their carbon footprint.
Our Power Stations
CS Energy operates two power stations in Queensland: Kogan Creek Power Station and Callide Power Station. These facilities are equipped with state-of-the-art technology that enables us to generate electricity efficiently while minimizing our environmental impact.
Kogan Creek Power Station
Located near Chinchilla, Kogan Creek Power Station is one of the most advanced coal-fired power stations in Australia. It has an installed capacity of 750 megawatts (MW) and uses supercritical boiler technology to achieve high levels of efficiency. The station also has a zero liquid discharge system that eliminates wastewater discharges into nearby waterways.
Callide Power Station
Callide Power Station is located near Biloela and has an installed capacity of 1,620 MW across four units. The station uses both coal-fired and gas-fired generation technologies, which allows us to respond quickly to changes in demand or fuel availability. We have recently invested $48 million into upgrading Callide C4 unit which will extend its life by another decade.
Our Commitment To Clean Energy Future
At CS Energy, we recognize the importance of transitioning towards cleaner sources of energy as part of our commitment towards sustainability goals set by Australian Government under Paris Agreement on Climate Change . We are actively exploring opportunities for renewable energy projects such as wind farms or solar farms within Queensland region where it makes sense economically as well as environmentally feasible .
We have already taken steps towards this goal by investing $10 million into developing a large-scale battery storage project at Wivenhoe Dam near Brisbane . This project will help stabilize the grid during periods when renewable generation output fluctuates due weather conditions like cloud cover or wind speed changes .
In addition ,we have partnered with other companies such as ARENA (Australian Renewable Energy Agency) , QUT (Queensland University Of Technology) ,and UQ (University Of Queensland) on research projects aimed at improving efficiency levels for existing fossil fuel plants through use of new technologies like Carbon Capture Storage(CCS).
Our People And Culture
At CS Energy, we believe that our people are our greatest asset . Our team consists highly skilled professionals who work together collaboratively towards achieving common goals . We foster an inclusive culture where everyone feels valued regardless their background or experience level .
We provide ongoing training opportunities so employees can develop new skills throughout their careers with us . Our focus on safety means all staff undergo regular safety training programs so they can work safely around high voltage equipment found within power stations .
Conclusion
In conclusion , CS Energy is committed towards providing reliable ,affordable electricity solutions whilst minimizing environmental impact through use modern technology like supercritical boilers at Kogan Creek plant or investment into large scale battery storage projects like Wivenhoe Dam facility near Brisbane city centre . Our focus on sustainability means we are constantly exploring ways transition away from fossil fuels toward cleaner sources such renewables including wind farms, solar farms etc..
