This place is excellent, and had excellent views up on top of the hill near the Olympics Center. Staff is amazing and was extremely helpful fixing a snafu we had when booking through a third party (next time we'll call direct). Pool was open with strict Covid limits, everyone was masked up and we'll prepared. Morning breakfast options are limited since buffets are - off the menu - but we tried most everything and nothing disappointed. Had one evening meal there, also great. To make things better they have a private beach on Mirror Lake for guests - nice little relaxation and swimming spot . Can't recommend this place enough.

Conveniently located near Olympic Center and walking distance to village. Often full of kids in town for hockey tournaments. Sometimes noisy. First level smells like chlorine. Gorgeous windowed bar overlooking Mirror Lake.

Great service
We could not stay in the hotel. I had horrible allergies upon arrival at the hotel. The hotel is pet friendly, but I am not ( dog allergies). The hotel' staff tried to find a room for but no avail. We had to leave. They refunded the deposit.
Thanks

Fabulous views of the lake and mountains from our balcony, from the dining room, from the fire pit. Beautiful building with rustic wood accents. Grounds well kept. Walking distance to everything good and fun!

I absolutely loved it at Crowne Plaza in Lake Placid. I booked a "room with a view" & I am very very glad I did so. It was a beautiful view right from the room. The only minor complaint I had was that the balcony was rather small & narrow, not enough to make a fuss out of it at all. The price was very reasonable for what you got. The hotel itself has a kind of elegant rustic cabin feel inside that fit its location very well. The room was great, spacious, bathroom was pretty big with a beautiful shower & counter tops. Just like a room with a view, every time you walk out of the hotel there is such an incredible view of Mirror Lake & the beautiful mountains. It seemed like everything was in walking distance which was great because the strip with all the restaurants and shops can get very busy. Not going to bother uploading pictures of the view because it does not do it justice whatsoever. I can not express how much I loved it there & Lake Placid in general. I can not wait to visit again & Crowne Plaza will be without a doubt the place I stay!!!

The room is wonderful and comfortable. We came up this weekend to climb Mt. Marcy and the hotel staff were the first to ask us about the trip and alert us to the snow still at the peak. The view is also the best in town, overlooking lake placid.

We had a room on the 4th floor overlooking the lake. Great view! Room was fine, balcony was a little small, but glad we had one at all. Great location overlooking the lake and close to everything. Hill is a bit steep walking up and down. Would suggest the stairs straight up instead of the long sidewalk. Will come back

We stayed at the Crown Plaza Lake Placid last weekend travelling from Ottawa. The hotel is well situated on the Main Street and also perched on a hill for great views. The room was clean but had a bit of an old smell. The thermostat worked great and the shower got nice and hot. We had breakfast included the next day which was good enough for a hotel breakfast buffet. They had fresh apple cider and the chefs omelettes were pretty good. My biggest issue with this hotel is that you can hear everything and it is not very sound proof. I could hear people s conversations very clearly, kids running the halls, people in the bathroom. I had a hard time sleeping because of it, otherwise I would have given four stars.

The hotel was beautiful! Clean and friendly staff! What I wasn t pleased with was all amenities were closed due to covid! We were never alerted of this inconvenience, and upon arrival we were told if we went through the hotel booking it would of been discounted which was a small slap in the face!. If a discount could of been provided, it should have been. Plus the only amenity that was useable was a fire pit which was constantly being used by another family. I understand due to covid precautions need to be in place, but then a discounted rate should of been in place, considering finances are rough for families and we chose to stay there for the sake of shopping local. It was just as though we felt taken advantage of.

Stayed here before and had a wonderful experience, but my most recent visit had to be cancelled because my son came down with the flu. Unlike other hotels, their policy is 7 days cancellation. Called the hotel but they weren't very helpful. Just be aware...

Avoid coming when there's a 'hockey tournament' ! Full of kid's (hockey players) that are screaming, running, terrorising other guest and forget using the pool it's a 'dangerous zone' ( hockey kid's are using it) while the parents are getting piss'd drunk in the hotel bar. Part from that it's a nice place, clean and adventures.

Perhaps this would have been more charming if we stayed in a room with a balcony overlooking the mountains. The regular rooms are no different than any 3 star hotel I've been to. Otherwise helpful and friendly staff, comfortable and good place to stay if you want to be close to town in Mirror lake / lake Placid.

Clean but noises keep you up and wake you up. Paying 320 to listen to the house keeping talk as loud as they can outside my door at 10 am is bull - what a great romantic getaway listening to kids run and scream the whole night. couldn t use the pool and the dining options here are slim.

Great getaway. It was completely booked when we stayed there. The hot tub always had 12 people in it although it says 6 person max (and it is quite a small hot tub); there was no chance to ever to actually get a seat by fireplaces. There were hoards of people all around. But all these issues were due to the fact that it was mob of people staying there. If it were not during February break, it may have been slightly more pleasant. The food is a tad expensive, but it's a high end hotel. It is to be expected. There is a fantastic NYC style pizza place right in the village, about 200 yards from entrance of Crown Plaza. It's called Bazzis. I would recommend that place to eat. All in all, it was a comfortable place, cozy, phenomenal views and clean. The staff was very accommodating. I would stay there again.

We had a very pleasant stay. From the moment we walked into the hotel the staff was friendly, welcoming, and helpful. The room was clean and very comfortable, and the view was breathtaking. The food and service at the restaurants were both wonderful. Sitting around the fire pit outside with a glass of wine was very relaxing, and the other guests were friendly and sociable. We had absolutely no complaints. This was our second stay at the Crowne Plaza, and we will stay here again.

Simple, central and service oreiented, the Crowne Plaza is ideally located. You ll be close to all the action, including the Olympic Park and Mirror Lake.

There is Wi-Fi, pool and hot-tub. It sits atop a hill which is an ideal location for watching the 4th of July fireworks - which we did.

With free parking, you ll be able to walk about town and enjoy some fabulous eats and treats. I d definitely recommend the Crowne Plaza during your next visit to Lake Placid.

This hotel is nice with a stunning view of the mountains in the immediate area. Quick hassle free check in. They accept dogs and were very kind to my 60lb goofy doggo. They take social distancing and wearing a mask serious, along with sanitizing before interacting with customers which I appreciated. There is a large pool with a sign-in sheet and ample space to practice social distancing. The staff are very nice (except for one nurse ratched who proceeded to greet everyone except for myself Friday afternoon in the restaurant. I told her about Matt in the restaurant and what an excellent employee he was; she is not enough to take away from the very polite staff in the hotel). FYI Matt is a doll if you need a quick chat about anything while there. Even the guests were very nice. The beds are medium firm. It seems this hotel can get very busy. For those with Tesla s, they have charging stations. The location of the hotel is also close enough from the Main Street and far enough from it. The breakfast and dinner were excellent. The steak frite with truffle fries is really good! They don t have daily room service due to Covid-19 but if you ask for servicing of the room or replenishment, they will provide. The one thing I hope is improved is the WiFi. To get a strong signal for work, you have to sometimes sit in the lobby. As more individuals work from home, it would be wise to strengthen WiFi. Overall a very pleasant stay and I recommend if you plan on visiting Lake Placid. Word of advice about Lake Placid; many mom and pop restaurants and no delivery from any of the dining locations. They have order and pick-up service. Very family friendly but the city center near Olympic drive can get crowded and lead to long waits for restaurants. Everyone I saw had a mask on and that is a positive.

Attended a large conference here. Food was good and room was comfy and clean. Would have given 5 stars but our group had an employee lacking in customer service skills check us in and a rude bartender deliberately ignore us while we were trying to place a drink order. The servers in the dining rooms were awesome though.

This is an excellent hotel. The reception staff, and all the staff is top notch. The rooms are spotless. They accept pets here. There is a large room that doubles as the dining room with a huge fireplace and the most spectacular mountain view of Mirror Lake ever. The place is a tonic. In addition, they serve a breakfast buffet that can't be beat. There is a trolley that picks up at the bus stop out the front door to your left. It takes you to Whiteface. Good value. I recommend booking direct and not through Internet as price is lower...better deal.

Lake placid crowne plaza ... wow ... what a beautiful hotel located on a coast with a wonderful view of the mirror lake as you can see .... the interior of the hotel as much as the outside will know you charmed by its beauty and history are olympic games ... the village of placid lake is a place you need to go at least once in your life .. it's majestic and full of history because of the 2 olympics they are welcome. Buy yourself the Olympic passport to be able to visit and have access to all the Olympic installation, you will see it is very impressive to visit. Only 2h30 from Montreal is a peaceful and relaxing place in winter .... I will have to go for a walk in the summer one day also because I'm sure it's also beautiful summer for the fervents of nature.

This hotel claims to be pet friendly. However, you cannot take dogs anywhere in the hotel except your rooms. This is very misleading as I spoke to the front desk when making the reservation. The dogs are not permitted to be in the room alone so we could not even enjoy their amenities. It was raining one of the days so we could not take the dogs anywhere. Why do they not have a doggy day care if they have this policy?

Friendly staff, very helpful. Clean comfortable rooms with fridge, microwave and coffee makers. Full size ironing board and iron. Very comfortable king size bed! Balcony with lake view was amazing. Large clean pool and spacious surrounding area. Nice grounds, close walk to town. (The stairs up & down the hill could use some repairs or updating) Beautiful big shared spaces for family and friends gatherings. Outside gas fire pit. We'd definitely stay there again!

I hardly ever leave reviews but we were so disappointed in our stay. Based on the reviews, we had such high expectations. Our first room was disgusting. I think they just changed the sheets and towels. It smelled so bad, but we had never been here so we didn t know what else to expect. When I went to go shower there was hair on the shower walls, and when we undid the bed there was a hair on the sheets under the comforter. Appalling. The front desk was apologetic so they did switch our room. It was cleaner but not great.
It was so late and we had to get up early so I ended up just spraying the shower and everything in the bathroom myself with bleach. The bed sheets on my side had a
mascara stain but I was just praying it was old and couldn t come out after numerous washes. Check out is 11:00 and by 10:30 we had people knocking on our door to start cleaning. The rooms are really run down and the 4th floor smelled like weed and was loud all weekend. The outside and view is pretty, and the front staff is pleasant but definitely would not recommend.

This is a place my family has been coming to since I am 12. Shout out to Ray and Rachel for their help making a uncomfortable situation comfortable. It is nice to know you appreciate business. Thank you also to Rochelle (in housekeeping) for helping us me as well.

An amazing wedding weekend shared with our friends and family at the Crowne Plaza, Lake Placid! The hotel staff, the restaurant staff, the bartenders, those who cleaned our rooms and helped us to make arrangements for our guests.....EVERYONE went out of their way to make our daughter's wedding weekend the best it could be! Our grandchildren enjoyed the beautiful pool, the food was outstanding, the fires at night, both in the Great Room and out in the firepit were enjoyed by all of our guests. Our rooms were lovely in the Adirondack wing, families and couples all had accommodations to meet their needs. The rooms were immaculate, the beds were comfortable and the views from the balcony, were breathtaking. We will be back with friends and family many times in the years to come!

Great Hotel to use while in the Lake Placid area. Rooms are neat and clean; some a little dated. We were lucky enough to have a little blacony and great view of the lake!

Indoor pool is of good size, clean and warm.

Restaurant has good food at a decent price and the French Onion Soup is really good!

Best part; walking distance to main Street!

Will be back!

The hotel has a beautiful exterior check in staff where very friendly, the service staff in the dining room where extremely rude. The room was nice but the bed was like Whiteface Mt. the peak on one side and a deep valley on the other, not great for a good night's sleep. The Jacuzzi looked ok problem being that after running the hot water for ten minutes the water was still cold, ended up with a cold shower. All in all very disappointing. I would not go back there are cheaper places to stay in Lake Placid.
