Looks like this Hotel management is earning lot of Money and they don't want to improve their business. They don't even have basic amenities like Laundry room, free parking and food is very expensive with poor quality. Hilton garden Inn is(2 - star) is far better than this hotel.

Let me begin by saying that on first appearance you really think you are coming into a first class place, but that is not the case. To be honest, you might as well be living in a crime-riddled neighborhood. OUR CAR WAS BROKEN INTO and there are no working security cameras. SINCE THEY DON T HAVE THEM, THIEVES KNOW THIS IS THE PERFECT PLACE TO COMMIT CRIMES!!! We were parked in the valet area and awoke the next morning to our car having been ransacked. The thieves made off with a jacket and a hang bag purchased in 1976 with two outfits, our most valuable items were in the hotel. Since the bag was visibly old we did not think a thief would be interested in it. When we reported the incident, the hotel staff was not genuinely concerned and to this day they have not contacted us about the incident. I RECOMMEND THAT IF YOU DO NOT WANT YOUR THINGS STOLEN DO NOT STAY IN THIS HOTEL!!!!!!

Updating my review.

Updating my review.

Short version: There was an issue with my first room, and I had to move. I dealt with three staff members that day and they were all brusque and rude.

Since then, the hotel manager has reached out to me, apologized for their behavior, taken responsibility, and promised that a case like mine will be implemented into the training program in the hopes of avoiding turning a simple, unavoidable mechanical issue into a huge problem going forward.

I very much appreciate his response, and that he is taking responsibility. He's given me cause to hope that something like this won't happen again going forward.

After issues with coming (tremendous miscommunication on the end of the main reservation number) the hotel staff salvaged my faith in this location! Staff was friendly, prompt and attentive, and handled an emergency evacuation like pros. I'd be glad to stay at this location again.

The lobby and courtyard are so beautiful. It's lovely plant life , stone walkways and waterfalls have you feeling like you're in a tropical park.
The staff can not be more friendly or willing to do everything to make you feel comfortable and happy..
I was there when a city water pipe broke that led to the hotel. For 12 hours there wasn't water, or air conditioning. I watched them bring in water, bother bottles and gallons, bags of ice, Gatorade, ice cream, and truck loads of brand new fans, the entire time. Potty potties arrived that appeared brand new and I think every employee, including corporate, was called in to help. Above and beyond should be their tag line.

Great service, upscale hotel with friendly and helpful staff. Free breakfast and basic wifi, and great location around restaurants and shuttle service. AC is old and outdated; room was stuck on cool and made it freezing.

The lobby and grounds are gorgeous but the rooms are average at best. No microwave in the room and there is a $25 charge per night if you want one. The breakfast is,again, average and costs $20 per person for a buffet of hot items, cold items, breads, pastries, and cereal. Parking costs (a maximum) of $14 per day for guests and the parking garage is small and sketchy. Overall, it is a nice hotel but not what I was expecting.

It is a very classy place. I attended an event sponsored by Kids At Heart. It was a Christmas gathering for heart patients. Every employee (from the parking attendants to the food service crew) did an outstanding job of making everyone feel at home! The restrooms are always clean; and, there are plenty of shops and activities in the surrounding areas of the hotel!

Not even done with my stay but it just seems to be getting more and more disappointing....so of course you check in and then go check out the room...there is a cut out that they tried to put back in the shower ceiling, a random pipe sticking up about 2ft from the floor in the closet, you have to request a microwave and its only upon availability... so guess your out of luck if you don't get one thank god I did! and I figured it was just a mishap but there was no clock in my room when I checked in and even the next day after housekeeping came still nothing how do you not noticed this big clock is gone?? also FYI shuttle service is horrible...I asked the guy to get to a Walmart and he told me that I had to WAIT until he got back from the Marriott cause he had to do a buddy a favor....I sorry did you say I had to WAIT while you run what sounds like a personal errand! wow great customer service... then to top it off mind you the shuttle only goes with in a 2mile radius after I finally got to Walmart did my shopping called the hotel as instructed for pick up waited around for a HALF HOUR! called the hotel again they put me on hold and then said someone will be there shortly....another 20min later someone finally showed up.....lets just say I've stayed at much better... I can only hope that the rest of my stay goes in the right direction but I'm not hold my breath.

Stay at Your own Risk - This hotel was absolutely abysmal. The place is a dump.
Final Thought: Pick another hotel. Hopefully one with a working pool. Even a Motel 6 is a more cost effective step up than this place.
Pro: Angel at the front desk (Manager) tried all she can to make my stay more enjoyable but the glaring potholes were too big to miss.
Cons:
1. Checked into a room with faulty toilet and tub. $250 dollars per night, this is not of quality that I was paying for.
2. Checked into second room where I had to make 5 trips back and forth to move my own luggage in the room swap.
3. Went downstairs to return the key for the first room and notice my still parked in valet outside. I asked the valet guy why my car was still there parked out front and he said that he didn't know that I wanted valet although I had already tipped him $10 dollars at check-in and he was in possession of my car keys.
So by this time 90 minutes later my car was still in valet. Decided to self-park instead during my duration of stay instead and was told that I would have to go back upstairs and get the original ticket that he gave me before he could give me my keys. Asked for my tip back and called the manager. More appeasement and no resolve.
4. Back upstairs to room number two, tried to take a shower to prepare for a swim and when turning on the cold water I nearly suffered third degree burns. Called the front desk and was told to let it (the water) run awhile. Took a shower and the tub was clogged. Had to take two showers to get the dirt from the first shower off of my feet.
5. Went down to the pool and the pool was out of order.
6. Went back upstairs to the suite to watch TV and the TV volume would not work. Maintenance came and fixed that.
7. Next day went to gym early morning and upon my return to suite, the water was off. Called downstairs and was told and was told that the water would be back on momentarily. The water was restored at 2:40pm just shy of my pre-planned 3PM meeting time with foreign officials visiting here with our local consulate. Made it to my meeting late (4PM) as a result.
8. Back to the hotel and wifi was not working. Called the number given and was told that "Premium wifi was at a rate of $9.95 per day". Paid for premium but still did not have good reception and calls continued to drop throughout my 3 day stay.
With all of the problems that I had encountered up to this point, I was almost afraid to try and blue light the room as its anyone s guess what it would pick up. (smile)
The personnel tried their very best to make the hotel work but so many glaring challenges that even good staffing cannot make up for the apparent dating facade and decaying infrastructure of this hotel. massive renovations are required as this is obviously not of the caliber befitting to even be deemed a Crowned Plaza. That name used to signify something for me but I can't get this experience out of my head. Maybe just maybe there is a support group someplace to address the PTSD experienced at this dump. STAY AND MAKE RESERVATIONS AT OWN RISK!!!!!!!!!!!!

If you haven't checked out the fabulous renovation in this location, you need to...It's modern and gorgeous. I am very impressed by the staff, especially the event coordinators. My professional organization is planning a mid-sized conference next year and we are so excited to have it at Ravinia.

The individual rooms are nice, large, and clean. The hotel itself, though, appears to have been designed by someone straight out of architecture school with no sense of functionality. The single bank of elevators (for a very spread-out, fifteen-story building) was slow and there were often waits of 5+ minutes for an elevator to appear - and sometimes there were lines to get in. People tried to take the stairs, but the one staircase (not sure how the fire marshal missed that!) was narrow and difficult to find. There was often a line for breakfast, too, that could be 10-15 minutes wait. I was there for an event, the catering was generally tolerable but uninspiring; I went to the Starbucks next door more than once.

Booked 2 rooms for 1 night for a trip to Atlanta to celebrate a friends birthday. I was told at the front desk I would not be able to check in, and that they could not issue me a refund. The front desk agent was very nice, but the manager KerryAnn, not so much. The front desk lady had to run back and forth between the front desk and her office because she would not come out and talk to me like an adult. Crowne Plaza seriously needs to rethink their management team, especially if that s how you treat customers.

Horrible experience on my birthday. My husband and I was trapped in elevator off of the parking garage. Tried to call the front desk and did not get an answer. Used the phone inside of the elevator and the operator stated that she would have to TRY to reach the on call technician and have him to come out. Needless to say once we did get out all of my birthday plans were canceled due to the anxiety that this brought on.

I have rarely if ever left such a negative review....

I have rarely if ever left such a negative review. However my experience at this hotel was abysmal. A group of us met for dinner on a Friday morning. The tables were all set as 4 tops, we asked if we could make them into one long table and told we could. The wait staff started at the head of the table and then disappeared. After some time the group at the head of the table got served, this was before the rest of the table was even asked to order. We did our best to hail one of the servers, and when they eventually came over they started to take some of the other orders and left, saying they'd be right back. Well that took another 15 minutes. Then the 2nd part of the table started getting food. One person ordered the jumbo shrimp, but got scallops, he returned the scallops and after 20 minutes left without his order. The servers were running, but why? Were they short staffed? Then they brought some salads out and said these were to fill us up till the ordered food came. I watched the fiasco and didn't even bother ordering.I've never seen anything like this before, and this is the short version of the story. Needless to say I'm never coming back. Oh the rooms were nothing to rave about either, especially for the price.

It's early yet, but the restaurant is above average. The service was really good.
The room is nice. The hotel does not provide enough viewing options.
Why is HBO the only premium viewing provided?
This is my only issue this far.
