Great location with excellent facilities and well appointed rooms. The views of Christchurch from the rooms are among the best.

staff we're lovely & helpful & our evening meal was delicious and plentiful
Had a lovely night. We were in town to see a show. Very professional. Upgraded us to a king deluxe room. An asset to Christchurch
Beautiful I found this new version of the hotel is alot nicer than the other one.
Comfortable, clean and beautifully furnished. I got a room upgrade: these photos are of the junior suite.
We have just completed our 14day Managed Isolation from Brisbane Australia. And all we can do is praise all the staff from Front of House (Maddy & team) Restaurant Staff (Reece, Andy, Phoebe)the Military boys and NZ Police... Totally felt safe, educated and looked after. Rooms were awesome! Food was amazing...So just big props and appreciation from Room#1405 The Te Moni's... You guys do a great job! Credit to all of you!! THANK YOU for your exceptional customer service!!
Location is centrally located in Christchurch, lots of places are within walking distances. Went there last year and forgot to leave a review.
Staff are friendly and helpful.
Decent hotel, rooms are well kept and reception service is nice. As expected from its geographical positioning the rooms do not have amazing views but at least you can hear the TV in the bathroom!
Super modern that is comfortable. Parking is easy and convenient.
Excellent stay, great service, reception staff very welcoming and helpful
Modern and clean Hotel in the heart of Christchurch
Loved this hotel. So many small extras which make a difference and more importantly lovely rooms and great location
WARNING!! Hotel is brand new, comfortable. However, they promote an app called press reader in the hotel room which offers free news paper and magazines while you stay in the hotel. Followed their instructions, connected to hotel WIFI , download the app and selecting some magazines. While I slept,The app consumed 3GB of my monthly mobile data in the background even the download over WIFI only option is selected. By the time I waked up, i was 710MB over my data limit at $0.3/mb. The data cost is more than the hotel cost.
I reported to the hotel in the morning, they promised they will investigate and let me know the issue. So far after 1 month, nobody contacted me.
Amazing hotel. Excellent rooms, though a bit on the small side. Service is what makes this place special. Staff are always happy, ready to help you and provide helpful insights.
Level 17 room, fantastic views with balcony. Room service was on point.
We re from Christchurch and we stayed here twice as a little get away. I ve already booked another stay-that s how amazing it is. The service at the front desk is exceptional. The rooms are beautiful and the bathrooms stunning. My favorite part is the hotel bar. Such a classy environment!
This honestly is one of the nicest hotels I've ever stayed at and now the first place I'll book if and when I'm back in Christchurch!
You get the impression that it's an upmarket hotel before You even set foot in the door; very good looking building and decor.
The reception is equally stylish, open and clean with a bar on the ground floor and restaurant a level up.
The receptionists we spoke to were incredibly polite, funny and most importantly helpful.
The room itself was such a beautiful and comforting place to spend time even before we went to bed. The lighting is great with lots of controls for everything including the air conditioning and there's ample storage with a nice illuminated wardrobe (complete with robes!)
The bathroom is probably the highlight of the room; the shower has a glass wall looking into the room so if you're there with someone special you can have a bit of fun, but if you're there with your brother, like me, you can toggle a switch to close a blind and block off the view, essentially making the bathroom enclosed.
I'll definitely be returning with the girlfriend to make use of that amazing bedside view.. into the shower. Oh and for the amazing service and experience overall.
Can't recommend enough!
Excellent hotel. Staff is super friendly. Rooms are spacious and modern. Excellent view of the city and park from balcony rooms. TV area is set up with external media panel with HDMI, USB, and Bluetooth to connect your own devices. Makes for an excellent long stay business trip.
Nice place, clean, good eating area, walls were a bit thin in the room we were in
Fantastic hotel.. very high in quality and service. Beds are extremely comfy. When entered the room...it was nicely made , spotless and was happy to see a nice tiny aroma therapy oil bottle kept on the bed with a smile card to make you feel relaxed and help the sleep. That was interesting and something I experienced for first time.
All the staff was well trained , very attentive and pleasant.
Breakfast was superb , well organised and had lots of variety.
Definitely gonna stay here again whenever I visit Christchurch.
Close to the bedroom. Nice bathroom. Good breakfast.
It's a beautiful new hotel with brand new rooms and fittings. The lobby is very large and open with a fireplace and the rooms are pretty roomy. The bathrooms have large lighted mirrors and the showers have two different shower heads for you to choose from
No one basically answers reception s phone. The gate of parking lot is always not working properly. Elevator is a bit slow. But overall, is new and good. Free WiFi for members
Always courteous and professional, and the room upgrade didn't hurt either thanks guys
This review is restricted to our experience of the Market Place restaurant on the 1st Floor.
The original Crowne Plaza hotel on Kilmore Street and its Atrium dining , prior to the earthquakes, was always going to be a very hard act to follow.
And in many ways the Columbo Street replacement is just that in name only. Not having the volume of the huge atrium space, in the original hotel, the background noise level in the new restaurant is rather disturbing even with just a handful of diners. There has been no thought to acoustics with tiles on the floor, lots of glass, and a roof that acts like a reflector of all sounds.
The overall brown colouration theme that pervades the restaurant right down to the brown chairs, tables, brown plates the food is served on, will not be to everyone's liking or taste.
My beer battered fish choice on the menu was great, except that the dish was completely spoiled with the tired, tiny & tasteless apology of a green salad. The rocket lettuce leaves were very limp and its appears that this occurred when the plate was placed under a heat lamp prior to its delivery to our table. My partner chose the whitebait croquettes offering together with a side plate of potato gratin, but the whitebait definitely were in short supply!
But what was good was our table position which gave us a view of the $8 million upgrade of Victoria Square.
I travel a lot for work, so it is nice to be able to check into your hotel where the service is amazing. I was asked if I wanted to sign up for a members card (I think) and I said no, because I like to try different places each time I visit. Now I wish I hadn t. I m back in a few weeks and have booked here again.
My room was so clean and fresh everyday and my pillows were so comfortable! I wanted to take one home.
The only thing that was frustrating was the road works/closed roads- this made it difficult to get to the hotel.
Attended for a work function. Service and food were both great. Best function service in town
Really good rooms, modern, big, large beds and lots of power outlets for the tech savvy people. The service is also really good, kitchen food isn't bad either. Hotel is really close to CBD and all the shops and restaurants.
Hotel receptions Madison and Joy provides us very unforgettable experience. We would not forgot their unfriendly and unprofessional customer service.
Great & modern facilities with excellent staff and customer service! Would highly recommend staying.
Absolutely outstanding service on all counts. Room was just perfect and would highly recommend the Crowne plaza to anyone
Nice hotel. Very good rooms, excellent breakfast and good service.
Great hotel about 2 minutes walk from center of town on the ninth floor looking towards the north end of town fantastic room peace and quiet spacious twin head shower good choice of pillow from soft to hard.front desk staff very helpful staff throughout the hotel give me excellent service when I stay there in February 2019 for 10 days . hotel highly recommend for accommodations service and always greeted as sir or madam ,good size room for rest .
I am staying here at the moment. This is my third night here. I noticed the room wasn t cleaned properly on the second day.
The bed was hardly made, sheets not changed and the mini fridge not restocked. I reported this to the front desk. They apologised and mentioned they will make sure it won t happen again.
I came to the room today again, just to find the room in the same condition. No water bottles anywhere in the room (I was never given any during my stay !). Fridge not stocked and bed made very poorly, with the blanket thrown on the corner of the room as shown the photos. The bathroom s drain is disgusting and full of hair.
This level of service is not acceptable from a 4/5 star hotel.
I would stay elsewhere next time.
Positives: the rooms are new and the bed is comfortable.
Negative: cleaning and maintenance of the rooms is VERY poor.
We enjoyed 1851 cafe...food was delicious and satisfying. Good friendly service and well priced
Very good hotel !!!! New Zealand is not a country to sleep in, as there are many places to visit, but the bed and pillow at this hotel is fabulous! The view from the room is very good too, as well as being close to everything.
It was great! Love the personal touches that the hotel provides.
Pick-up and drop-off guests to find the parking space at the hotel in advance
First the highlight - clean, comfortable beds. Deeply disappointing was that there are road works all around so expect to drive around before arriving. Hotel car parking hidden behind buses and is a park anyway you like theme. Shower, despite two heads, leaked and sprayed water into the bathroom! Unfriendly staff. I expected better. Departed dissatisfied and disappointed as not what I expected from Crowne.
Friendly staff. A nice place to stay, serving tasty food, also has a comfy cafe at ground level that serves breakfast.
Had high tea here and it was fantastic. Lovely food and fabulous staff. Gorgeous view from the table over Victoria Square
Yeah I'd stay there again. Everything was easy and super convenient.
Great central location. The crown is a new hotel with a new contemporary fit out. Love having the usb ports next to the bed. Great views from almost all the rooms of central Christchurch.
Clean and stylish hotel, the lobby and dining area are designed to be pleasing to the eye, and the room has a small balcony with a view of the park woods opposite the hotel. The bed and pillow are very comfortable, it is the most comfortable I have ever slept in New Zealand in 11 days! Very close to the city, walking distance to various sightseeing spots.
lovely new hotel. will be even better when the construction & roadworks are done.
Nice place. Great breakfast. Spacious and luxurious rooms. Very polite staff.
Superb... Clean, great Facilities in room, stable and fast Internet connection, great food.
I stayed there for a week and the service was fantastic. The location is very convenient to visit most of the CBD. Staffs were cooperative and friendly. The only problem I faced was the parking. The parking was way more expensive compared to other surrounding places.
This is a really nice hotel. The lobby is welcoming and pretty. The rooms are great and the cafe food was superb
Location is centrally located in Christchurch, lots of places in walking distance for eating. The breakfast at the hotel was excellent. The hotel was rebuilt since the earthquake so it's fairly new. would happily stay here again when in CC.
Room was great. Very well styled. The gigantic pillows were a little odd but I had no complaints about the room or the hotel.
The hotel is well located, well run and the rooms are very good. We were in the lead-in room for our first stay and were upgraded to an executive room for our next stay. The rooms are similar in size but the executive is that step up in quality. Bathrooms very good. Beds very comfortable. My only gripe, if I had to find one, the balcony door whistled in the strong wind. Would stay here again.
Excellent place to stay for a Conference. Beautiful rooms, food and friendly staff.
Nice and clean. Nice views over Christchurch towards the stunning Southern Alps
Excellent executive rooms.... Great view from high up..
My wife and I checked into your hotel on the 13th December. At around 22:32, we heard an announcement to evacuate the building as there was potential fire. We were staying on the 15th floor Room 1505. Of course we left our room and proceeded to walk down the 15 flight of stairs.
Once we reach the ground floor, we were ushered out to the car park. We saw fire engines parked outside the hotel. My concerns starts now...
After waiting around for 15 to 20 minutes or so we were ushered back into the hotel, we were not given any explanation what so ever on what was going on. If this was a fire drill or there was an actual fire. It could be your hotel's policy not to update on such incident. I would have thought out of courtesy a short brief explanation could have been given. Anyhow, what troubles and concerns me the most was the fact that there no NO ROLL CALL to check if everyone one was accounted for. I have been through fire drills before in other 5 Star hotels and doing a headcount check is Basis 101 to ensure everyone got out and accounted for. If someone is missing from the list, you would inform the person in charge. Looking after the welfare of your guest is the other matter that concerns me. Let's take my wife as an example, she just recovered from a knee surgery and it took her a much longer time to walk down 15 floors. I cannot image an elderly person walking down those stairs. No hotel personnel checked if everyone was ok. This is poorly managed by the hotel management and the fire marshals. I have been staying in your hotel for many years all over the world and it's a great hotel with great service. However, I seriously think, the hotel management needs to go back to the drawing board and work on ensuring the safety and the welfare of your guests.

Absolutely the bees knees. Very posh and very comfortable. Great mini bar and right in the city.
Very well equipped. Enthusiastic and dedicated staff. Breakfast was good but not everything was available. Check out is later than some hotels and when we overslept reception were happy to extend our check out time to 11.30am! We ate at the restaurant one night and the food and service was excellent.
After delayed flights and poor service at the rental car company, getting to Crowne Plaza was a sigh of relief! Would definitely stay again.
The hotel near the old church was built after the earthquake and is absolutely shockproof. Meals are usually medium to medium. The rooms are spacious and comfortable.
Unreal place to stay. Close to everything you need. Great bed
Went for high tea with my toddler, mum and nana at the restaurant upstairs. Originally it wasn't clear that it was held upstairs as the high tea menu states that its held in the social wine bar. But a polite man at the front desk could obviously see we looked a bit out of place and guided us to the elevator and told us which floor to go to. It was clean, open and elegant. As soon as we walked up to the sign to be seated, we were nicely greeted and taken to our table. They offered a high chair and brought it over promptly. They took our tea orders and brought them out quite fast which was great and then followed by our high tea. The original lady who seated us, was lovely and checked up on us and made sure everything was good and helped us by taking photos for us which was so nice of her! She left us to it after that and never came back. It was obvious at one point that we had finished and weren't going to eat it all and expected that at some point, someone would come over, that wasn't the case - I noticed there was another employee who must've not long started his shift who didn't even acknowledge me. I had to walk over to ask for a couple of boxes to take the extra home, he just handed them to me and carried on what he was doing. I paid for our high tea then we left.
It was a what to choose..as a celebration of my birthday with a dinner me and my husband - we chose the steak share option...yummo... beautiful food and fantastic service..and seated with a great view..a feeling of having a little corner to ourselves
