Dr. Ross is brilliant. My 3 year-old Golden developed a bad limp, couldn't even get up from the floor, much less run and play. One vet told us he had advanced Lyme disease, another said he needed ACL surgery. Dr. Ross watched him walking, and immediately arrived at the correct diagnosis (badly strained ileo-psoas muscle). She set him up with a course of physical therapy and at-home exercises, and soon he was good as new! Thank-you Dr. Ross.

In an emergency situation i figured i would give them a try since they were the closest. While everyone one there was nice. They are very pricey. Shouldn't taking vitals be included in an exam. I chose to wait till morning and go to my vet for testing. I got all the tests they were going to do for over a thousand dollars from my vet for a little over what i payed crown for just a visit and vitals. Will not be going back. There much better choices in the area.

I would highly recommended this vet to anyone in the area needing 24 hour care for their animals. We were taken right in the back and saw a tech right away. They were very gentle with my dog and seemed like they were very experienced and knew what they were doing. When I saw the doctor, she was very upfront about all of our different options, recommendations, and costs associated with each route. We ended up walking away with any needed medications and peace of mind that our dog was well taken care of.

We brought our dog here upon a recommendation from our veterinarian. He was suffering, and our boy didn't make it. The caring staff at Crown Veterinary Specialists made certain that the process was taken care of in a very kind, warmhearted way. I will most certainly recommend them to anyone in need.

The staff at Crown are wonderful. Dr. Peddle treats our dog, Roscoe for his heart condition and I trust noone else with my dog's heart health. We brought our other dog, Sammy, in and were given devastating news and ultimately had to say good bye. It was an awful day but the staff was so caring and delicate in providing information. They even were able to keep Sammy going so my husband could get there to say good bye.
I cant say enough about the incredible staff at Crown Veterinary...they are wonderful!

Unfortunately, the only time I visited Crown was when we had to take my dog in for an emergency, & had to put her down the same day. Just from that one experience, I really like Crown & I definitely recommend it. The vet & staff were very kind & respectful towards us. They were patient & gentle, they let us say goodbye & we never felt rushed. Thank you for everything Crown.

Dr. Panarello and staff were caring and highly responsive when we went through a major health problem with our Plott hound. She was in crisis when Dr. Panarello first saw her and I could see the concern on his face for her suffering. He brought her through the crisis and got her well again, supporting her treatment through our regular vet, even when this work brought no fees to his own practice. I will be forever grateful to Crown Vet and Dr. Panarello for their compassion and expertise in treating a complicated disorder. I have my dog back!

Crown has the most professional caring, compassionate staff of animal caregivers. You all deserve 5 stars for all the help you gave for our Bosco. You gave us hope and didn't give up on him. Thank you for the best care and compassion. Your the best. You treated us like family.

Have taken my 2 labs to Crown several times in true emergencies or for evaluations (torn ligament, eye, spine). I have nothing but great things to say about every aspect of care. Dr. Ross performed ligament surgery on my lab (each knee one year apart) with great success. The staff is professional and caring. It is so comforting to know we have an excellent emergency and specialty veterinary practice right here in Hunterdon County.

We had to visit Crown Veterinary today after our family member Lily became ill. Dr. Portner was quick to stabilizer Lily and make her as comfortable as possible. The staff was quick, professional and gentle with both her and us. Although Lily's prognosis was not very good, the Dr and his staff helped us to make the best choice for her. Thank you for helping us through a very bad day.

I hate to write a bad review because the vet techs here were fantastic and I'm sure that there are other vets here that are very good, but right now I'm absolutely devastated because I just had to hear (from the facility that I should have brought him to in the first place) that my dog has maybe five to six weeks to live because the cancer that should have been caught when I brought him to Crown 8 months ago was dismissed as gastrointestinal problems due to my giving him homemade food. Why listen to a "Crazy dog mom" in the ER, just discharge them with no explanation. Had this been caught 8 months ago maybe he could have received some treatment to slow the cancer and increase his quality of life, but now it's too late.

These people are the most wonderful people I've ever met in my life. They are all there for the pets not just to make a buck and go home at night. My puggle Indiana did not make it. They were so kind and compassionate as I made the decision to have him put to sleep. They let me hold him in my arms as they did it. It was over in seconds.

Sorry to say it would have cost me $10000 for surgery to save his life.so if you are not super rich to start out with then this is not the place for you. The prices are criminal.

Crown Veterinary Specialists provided expert, compassionate care for our foster kitten who was set on fire in a cruelty case. After multiple complicated surgeries and medical procedures, the team at Crown saved the kitten's life while providing around-the clock love and attention. They continue to care for homeless pets in desperate need and are a tremendous asset to pets and their owners.

Our dog Angel was diagnosed with Suspected Transitional Cell Carcinoma and we chose to go to Crown for follow up due to their excellent reputation. Dr. Angelo was extremely empathetic and also gave us the straight facts, which was exactly what we needed. She and all of the staff at Crown have been extremely caring and supportive as we navigate this difficult process. We couldn t ask for better support.

This place is a glorified animal mortuary, i hate to leave a bad review but i really need everyone reading these reviews to see this and make your decision about this place based off this review, i pray no one has to go through what i and my pet went through. We brought my pet to the hospital to get an ultrasound because he had an enlarged heart and was acting strange. I called prior to going to make sure they could check what was wrong with his heart, all i wanted and asked for was the ultrasound or ekg. Then i have all these other tests thrown at me and being told that i HAVE to get them done, when i specifically explained i already had all those tests done the same week and didn't need them done again, i also wanted to do everything through my pets primary vet not a hospital, all i needed the hospital to do was an ultrasound or ekg of the heart and that's it. Your only option here is astronomically inflated service fees with no guarantee of success at the end, or premature euthanization is what i was told. After having been backed into a corner and told there's only 2 options... 4 hours lately magically a third option was presented stating we can bring our baby home since the doctors shift was about to end. The Following day we spoke to our primary vet and he said we saved his life by taking him home and having the fluid drained from his lungs, heart, and chest, nothing following the insane advice of this hospital. It would have been nice to know who the doctor was that chose to jump the gun with her assessment of the situation since recommending euthanasia shouldn't be taken as lightly as it was coming from a faceless doctor over a phone from the parking lot. Side note on top of that they said if we euthanized the cat we can come inside and be with him, yet they wouldn't let us in during this entire chaotic experience, i didn't realize the virus knows when your inside the building just to make sure your pet is ok, and when your pet is being euthanized? so the virus avoids euthanization? that's strange. i was told the doctors have comprisable immune systems and that's why we couldn't come in, but if we came in to euthanize our pet that's ok? that wont compromise their immune system? makes zero sense. they were just worried about compromising the money they are stealing from innocent people and patients is what happened. If your pet is very ill or has something seriously wrong DO NOT bring them here! They will try their hardest to euthanize your pet even when there's other options available to save your pets life. I almost would've euthanized my cat thinking he had "cancer" when that wasn't the case at all. imagine that, i don't think id be able to live with myself knowing i could save my pet and there were options but chose to euthanize him by being forced and strong armed and lied to. Please if you took the time to read this do not bring your pet here its dangerous and will give you a lot of heartache by being forced to do something you don't even have to do in the first place. Always get a second or third opinion before making a drastic and life altering decision. Our pets are our babies and family they are part of us and this hospital doesn't care about the pet they just care about the money and lies they can feed you to force you to do something that truly isn't necessary. The only reason i even went here in the first place and drove an hour was because they were the only 24/7 animal hospital that was able to do an ultrasound or ekg on the spot which i confirmed before even going and when we started the process they changed their answer to "your pet will have to stay here for 3 days until Monday once the technician is actually here and available to do the ultrasound or ekg" what?! Then they held my pet hostage and wouldn't let me take it home. Do yourself and your pet a favor and stay far far away from this place, they shouldn't even be open or have licenses to work on animals. they aren't in this to help the animal they are only in this for the money and euthanization which also brings them money. BE VERY CAREFUL

Extremely compassionate doctors and staff. I came in at midnight with a feline emergency and had to make some hard decisions over the next few hours while we tried to do everything reasonable to save my cats life. Navigating these hard decisions in the middle of the night was much easier with the help of Dr G and the technician. We all made the best of a challenging and difficult situation and I m grateful for their support and thorough care.

It would have been a five if it were just Dr Cheng, she is worth the money and time. She is reasonably priced but would be worth even more $, if you are going holistic She is who you want. She is bright and a wealth of knowledge, witty and pleasant and works with your budget.
Dr Hamilton a bit of an egotistical the if. He truly believes he's worth the $210 for 15 minutes of his time. Which, I started the conversation with I do not want chemo...but he continued on trying to perused me. I'm a biochemist and understand the mechanism, it was not going to help give my baby a better chance of survival, none the less a better wuality..
Way too much about the $$$$
Clean, smart Drs. And many options in vet medicine, but hold onto your purse strings, they will do everything to cut them.

My experience was phenomenal. I had a pet emergency over the weekend & was recommended by my home vet clinic. I called the clinic & was greeted professionally & compassionately; my concerns were addressed to my satisfaction which made the 30min drive more bearable. Once on site I followed the Covid protocols & the check-in process was seamless. My pet was treated & went home with a smile. Every staff member I interacted with was knowledgeable, respectful, professional & courteous. I won't hesitate to recommend them to anyone who's in need of a top tier veterinary clinic.

I highly recommend him for his professionalism, insights and medical expertise!!! Thank you!!!

Everyone here is great. I work in a veterinary hospital and when my hospital couldn't help my dog due to lack of resources, crown was there to help him! The people who reviewed negatively do not understand that although their dog did not make it, the technicians and doctors at crown did not just let it happen; they are all so helpful and caring. My dog's diagnosis was not a positive one either, but I still appreciate that they did everything they could to help him!! Donna and Dr. Ross were so helpful with my dog's situation, thank you so much. I will be coming back in the future, for sure.

I came to Crown Vet after hearing endless comments on how amazing Dr Ross is, esp for pitbulls who need knee surgery. After having not so good experiences elsewhere (i left a few places in tears).. i left Crown Vet and Dr Ross feeling good for the first time since my dog hurt herself back in February. When every other vet was trying to push the most expensive surgery... she went by what was best for MY dog, which to my pleasant surprise was the least expensive and least invasive. drop off and pick up was very smooth and even when my dog needed extra pain medication because she was up crying the first night they got us right in the next morning and gave her more meds. we went for our follow up today to get her stitches out and will be starting physical therapy Saturday with Amy. I couldn't be happier with everyone there and would highly recommended Crown Vet, esp if your a pitty fanatic like myself!

Crown vet helped me when my cat developed a urinary blockage. All the doctors were great about keeping me in the loop. Even though I had to go during peak covid time in my area, March 2020, they gave me the best experience possible. My sweet fat cat is alive and well thanks to them.

Grace my 11 1/2 year old Golden Retriever was first seen at Crown for a consult for treatment of breast cancer. From my first phone call to Grace's last chemo treatment my experience was wonderful. All of the staff was very attentive to Grace's special needs (Grace is a pup mill rescue and is very shy). Dr. Hoffman is her oncologist and he spent the time to answer all of my questions and made sure all of Grace's needs where being taken care of. At her last chemo therapy visit Dr. Hoffman brought Grace out with a party hat on her head, beads around her neck and a goody bag. As I would wait for Grace to have her treatment I saw many emergency cases come in for treatment. The staff was amazing with these cases and I was very impressed with the care and concern they all gave the owner and their pet. I would recommend Crown Veterinary Specialist to my friends.

Our dog had been sick for a while and our regular vet isn't open on the weekend. Sadly the time came on a Saturday and he had to be out down. They were very empathetic and sensitive even though they didn't know us or our dog at all. They took time to explain everything. We got a sympathy card in the mail afterwards as well. They took many precautions due to covid which were appreciated as well. I would likely use them if I had another pet in the future.

Doctors Fromzel and Batchu evaluated and treated my critically ill dog with compassion and considerable skill. Using an endoscope, they were able to remove a foreign body in my dog's stomach, eliminating the need for a major exploratory surgery. I am very appreciative of the rapid response time and getting our dog "Axel" back on his feet. thank you !

I woke up Friday and noticed my dog was acting abnormal. I brought him to Crown and upon walking in Dr. Panarello was walking in as well and asked if I needed any help with my pet. He didn't have to offer but I thought, wow, that was very nice of him.

Once I signed in Dr. Panarello came over to me and we started to proceed in trying to figure out what was wrong with my dog. During the whole process Dr. Panarello updated me on his thoughts of what was wrong, lab results, and what our next steps should be.

We ended up taking him to Red Bank Animal Hospital to see Dr. Glass (Referred by Dr. Panarello, which we are very happy with Dr.Glass and his team at Red Bank. They are fantastic in their own right).

I normally do not leave review buts the compassion and care that we received from Crown's staff and especially Dr. Panarello was amazing. He has since followed up everyday with my wife and myself just to check in on our dog. I have owned dogs throughout my life and have interacted with many vets. Dr. Panarello really makes you feel your animal is in the hands of someone who not only knows what they are doing but cares as if he was the owner.

I wanted to thank the staff and Dr. Panarello for showing my dog and myself the care and compassion we both needed at that time.

My sister took her dying dog here because her regular vet (Spruce Run) who she was NEVER happy with, wouldn't take her dog because they had "no available appointments" (she has been going to them w her two dogs for many years)! The doctor and staff at Crown Vet were wonderful!! They were caring and professional. They actually made the experience of having to put Dakota to sleep a much less painful experience. Thank you ALL at Crown VET. This dog was my sister's life and you made it bearable for my sister:) Thank you ALL very much!! WE HIGHLY RECOMMEND YOU, YOUR STAFF AND YOUR OFFICE!!!

I'll tell you why I didn't love this place and this has nothing to do with their professionalism or quality of service what my wife and I had a serious problem with is having to wait in our car for an hour in 90 degree temperature with no access to restrooms while our pet was being treated. Also nothing beats face-to-face contact with the doctor and staff. You really should consider a climate friendly waiting area with restrooms or even a temperature-controlled outdoor enclosed tent for the family of the pet. And as a bonus it would be nice to meet the treating doctor face to face for consultation. We can wear masks and maintain social distancing!

We had a very ill elderly cat who had reached the end of life. Crown Veterinary took him immediatly, dertermined his needs, and discussed the prognosis with a great degree of sensitivity. I would highly recommend them.

I brought my cat in Memorial Day abt 10:30 pm , she had a small puncture hole on her belly from a dog bite. No bleeding , no ripping of the skin. The vet recommended putting a drain in just incase of infection. We agreed. Xrays were taken, and a staple was used to close the area. She mentioned an exploratory procedure which we agreed to-
the drain wasn t inserted which we were charged for and the exploratory procedure wasn t done which we agreed to pay for. In the chart it said we denied the exploratory procedure. I had the doctor on speaker so my husband and I could hear her describe what was to be done. In the chart it said we denied it-which was untrue. I personally think it was late and a holiday - what other reason would it not be done. There was no misunderstanding. She was given an antibiotic and I kept the area extremely clean . Since I am in the health care profession I completely understood what was going on. Less than a than a week later the area swelled and I brought her back to Crown immediately. I believe the infection had no where to drain. A different vet examined her , took out the staple and left her with a circular 3 inch hole that I noticed when I got home. She recommended a $3- 4000 dollar surgery that was to be scheduled abt 3 days later since a surgeon had to do. We went to Crown Vet because it s a 24 hour emergency center. The following Tuesday we brought her to our reg vet in Chester- our cat was in serious condition and the same surgery was performed for $1000. Money was not an issue but the same surgery 2-3000 less?? There where procedures that I was charged for like a drain and a culture so we could put her on the correct antibiotic as a follow up to what was originally prescribed. I called the owner of Crown and he yelled at me when I told him what happened - again I am a professional and I spoke to him as a professional- HE HUNG UP ON ME!!
Luckily my cat survived but because of the treatment from Crown she barely survived.
He denied nothing -- was extremely nasty and then proceeded to hang up on me in the middle of my sentence. Totally unprofessional, no morals, very low veterinarian standards, no empathy or compassion for my pet . SHAME ON THE OWNER OF CROWN VETERINARY HOSPITAL!!!
