This is the worst hotel I have stayed at in Australia. It's horrible dirty corridors are old and falling apart, the whole system of getting into multiple lifts to get to your room is bizzare and they don't deliver alcohol to your room? Yuk

A Duty Manager from Crowne Plaza once tried to sneak up behind me one night with his head/face covered outside my workplace.
He is a part of a group of stalkers from the Intercontinental Hotel in Melbourne where we used to work together, before I was suspiciously suspended without being told, sent to a 'doctor', then put into a homeless shelter.
After several months I found a new job, but the same group was still stalking me and they tried to burn down an apartment building I was working in, which forced me to leave my job and Australia.

Even though I left Australia 2 years ago, the gangstalking has continued and has been going on for over 5 years.

I will remove this post when the situation has been rectified.

Nice looking hotel. Not really clean. No in room free WiFi. Free movies which was nice. Good restaurant on site but the concierge sent us on a wild goose chase looking for a good seafood restaurant. Wonderful buffet breakfast.

Front desk service is average at best. The rooms are feeling tired. Parking is about $ 45 per night valet. Suggest parking around the corner for about half of that nightly rate. Elevators are fast. Bar service is excellent and friendly. Use to be such a great hotel but has deteriorated a little over the past couple of years.

Fast and efficient check in, rooms are a little tired and could do wiyh an upgrade especially the bathroom, need to improve check out on weekends as it was very inefficient and slow with many guests checking out st the same time and no express check out available. Excellent location, close to Crown Melbourne, public transport and other areas of interest

There are a lot of things to like about this hotel: great location, clean rooms, friendly staff, good food, fitness centre and pool. It falls short of 5 stars for me because it could really do with a refurbishment. The carpets in public areas are old, faded and worn. Rooms, and especially the bathroom, look like they were haven't been updated in a long time. My bathroom has an over-bath shower (with a curtain). It's also a little noisy between rooms and the corridor, and my room faces the train line so I can hear the rumble as the trains go by.

It was very nice and the views were great. Its I'm a great location too. They had a continental breakfast but it wasn't free and the full buffet option was a bit pricey. But other than that those are my only complaints. If you need an American style power outlet there is a universal one in the bathroom. Also there are usb ports on the back of the alarm clock so you can change your phone without an adapter

Went for My Birthday celebration. Was advised Amenities were in place upon arrival due to it being my birthday. When entering the room nothing was to be seen, Called reception and was advised they didn't provide the amenities due to not knowing my name. Either way wasn't too fussed about that. Later in the night after a night out, had a shower and discovered after a few minutes that the drain was blocked and water had gotten all over our clothes outside the shower that were on the floor over a meter away. Not exactly what you want at 12:30 but was moved to an "Upgraded" room due to this and provided a later checkout. The bathroom on the upgraded room was less than half the size of the previous room so the entire room definitely did not feel like an upgrade at all. When having a shower again in the morning we had a similar shower issue where it must have been missing a seal at the bottom of the shower as once we stepped out the bath mat was entirely soaked along with most of the floor (Bathroom was less than a meter wide in this room). When advising staff/manager upon checkout I was greeted with the response of that's a shame with very little concern for the trail of events that put a real dampener on what was otherwise a great celebration. Only real positives were the rooms were presented well and the buffet breakfast was great. Would have appreciated some actual concern from staff for putting a big dent in a special occasion for myself and my partner.

Stayed with Crown Plaza Melbourne on an invitation...

Stayed with Crown Plaza Melbourne on an invitation from a Corporate Supplier for a business function on the 28th Feb 2020.
On arrival I handed my keys too the Valet (A Crown Plaza Employee) who proceeded to crashed my car into a newly erected Steel Bollard at the front door of the Hotel (2nd for the week apparently).
Everyone from the Concierge, the Duty Manager and even their General Manager were very apologetic st the time and so sorry this has happened and assured me that my car would be repaired in no time with no inconvenience too myself i.e. hire car etc and my car would be returned to me like it was when I handed the keys over.
After all it was "an accident" !!!.

What in not "an accident" is I had to contact them over a week later to say I haven't heard from them or their insurance and that's when the problems started.
Their insurance "IHG Claims" have been no help to me at all and so far all they have only given me the run around.
It has been over 8 weeks since the incident and I have had to provide them with the Photos, proof of ownership, getting a send quotes etc and still today "I am still driving around in a damaged car". 8 Plus Weeks Later.

Whenever I contact Crown Plaza all I get now is, we are very sorry but it is now out of their hands and control and I now need to deal with their insurer.
As I was dealing with Upper Management including their General Manager at the time I felt that they ware all sincerer about the incident and were all over it as I was a guest of their's, but it now appears that once I had checked out and was no longer a guest they just whipped their hands of the problem and pushed me off to their insurance.
I have only just received a reduced offer (approx 20% less) to repair my car so I am now working with my repairer to see if they can preform satisfactory repairs for the reduced offer or if I will need to cover some of the difference in cost out of my own pocket.

The price I payed for being a Guest of Crown Plaza and Trusting Crown Plaza Management and Staff.

Crown Plaza Melbourne hotel is located at the strategic location of being close to Melbourne Convention and Exhibition Centre and the CBD. I visited the hotel to meet a friend who was staying there. I found the staff at the bar quite friendly and professional.

From the moment we arrived we knew we had made a great choice. We were kindly upgraded to a room with a river view, just beautiful. All the staff were lovely despite being incredibly busy (grand final weekend). Nothing was too much trouble and all done with a genuine smile and warmth. Fantastic location close to Crown Casino & all the resturants. Breakfast at the hotel was just gorgeous with an onsite chef there to do your omlette or poached eggs just the way you like. We cannot wait to go back.

This is quite simply the nicest hotel I've ever stayed in. It's all about the people. There's renovations right now and the noise at breakfast is distracting but even with that, the staff are determined that everyone enjoys their stay. Thank you

Well located, walking distance to Melbourne Exhibition and Convention Centre. Main entrance is on a ramp and can be tricky to find for taxis. About 25-35 minute drive from the airport.

The newly renovated rooms are clean, comfortable, but a little small. The door opens almost on to the bed. Nice flat screen TV.

Breakfast was $29 if paid in advance. Good variety buffet and nice coffees.

Friendly staff. Can arrange transport by car to airport for a flat rate of $65.

Crown Plaza is very close to Melbourne convention centre. The views from the apartments are stunning. I found the staff friendly and helpful. I was not impressed with the in-room service food though.

The location is good, but NOT happy with customer service.the service for room was for 1 ppl but I asked 2 ppl. After checking my account noticed they charged me $1 which I think for the little toothpaste I asked for. How funny is that. You pay $200 then you get $1 charge so funny

Clean, tidy room but that's it. Buffet breakfast is okay but wouldn't recommend room service or dinner in the restaurant, as food here pretty averages. Also my credit card got charged twice and than I had to call to get my money back....

Waste of money. Paid $255 for tiny room overlooking reception area and other rooms.
Stayed overnight in Melbourne after a show to relax away from children and get some rest.
Asked for room with bath. Bath was tiny. No water pressure in shower.
Spent the whole night awake listening to the lift bell "pinging" all night.
When complained was told nothing could be done about noise.
Left hotel at 0530hrs to go home to get some rest!!!
Would never recommend this hotel.

Have stayed here on several occasions. The building is getting a little old but the staff and their service is some of the best that I have come across. Very central and great views if you are on the river side.
