Vacationing in town. Bad experience in the restaurant. Multiple mistakes. Wrong food, cold food... Spoke to a local later same evening. He says that's unusual and vouches for quality.
The prime rib was absolutely fantastic. Tender and tasty! The band was awesome too!
I travel all over the world and love to eat steaks. This was one of the best I've ever had. Melted in my mouth and seasoned to perfection. My wife said hers was wonderful too. Fredricksburg is one of our favorite places to work, and now to eat too.
A++++ Superior!!! Steak and shrimp done perfectly, excellent service, location, and ambience.
Sitting at the bar for 2 hours buying drinks, feeding this place plenty of $$$. Enjoying the live band and watching folks dance. We return to our bar seats after dancing, their are other customers standing in front of us, on the dance floor. I kneel on the bar stool to see over them. The female bartender tells me to get down, I ask her to tell the people in front of me (blocking my view) to move and I will get down. The female bartender rats me out to the bouncer, that bouncer proceeds to tell other bouncers to watch me. I go directly to the bouncers and speak with them, they don't "get it". My husband goes to speak with the bouncers, they push him out the door. We are frustrated and were not treated fairly, we are "out of there". Don't waste your money at this bar paying $7 per mix drink, go across the street to Hondo's, you will have a much better time, better drinks, less expensive and great food!!! I will never give Crossroads another dime in my future visits to Fredericksburg.
Atmosphere is nice, good was excellent, live music was good but not overpowering.
Low food was kind of bland for being so expensive and the service sucked
We usually go to Crossroads on Thursday, which is Steak Night. Wow, really tasty food! On Steak Night you can also get 1/2 off bottles of select wines. What a deal! My brother-in-law and I are red drinkers and my husband and his sister love white. So we share two bottles of wine. Perfect! I usually order the Rainbow Trout, which comes with a house salad, garlic mashed potatoes and a snap pea/green bean mix. Some of the best fish I have ever tasted, truly. And the house salad is no ordinary generic house salad. It is a spring mix with mandarin oranges, nuts and dried cranberries. Delicious! My husband gets the 6 ounce sirloin, perfectly cooked medium. Both of these entrees are $20. My brother in law sometimes gets the 11 ounce prime rib, which is juicy and tasty. My sister in law loves soup, so she usually gets their soup of the day with a salad. Last night the soup was borscht, which was a very unusual offering, and she said it was wonderful. It was served with sour cream on top.
After dinner, we move on over to the saloon where there is live music several nights a week. A DJ plays until the band starts. The dance floor is a little small, but serviceable. We usually have a really good time at the saloon.
Crossroads is an all around fun place to go in Fredericksburg, Texas. Don t miss Steak Night!
Fun place to go. Nice steaks and wine selection. Make reservations on weekends. Go early if no reservation. Some of the best music in town and fun bar scene.
Food was great and Saloon was even better. Zach took good care of us in the bar area. The band was also great!
Food here is top notch. Enjoyed a friendly server, good drinks and atmosphere. Recommend the quail.
Steak was fabulous! Service was top notch. We visited twice during our stay in Fredericksburg, it was that good. Get the Mac n cheese. Soooo good!
The chicken fried steak was not tender and had too much breading. The garlic potatoes were fair and the asparagus was not cooked enough. The atmosphere is beautiful...prices too high. We will not go back..overall a disappointment.
Do not let the name fool you. This is an upscale bar/restaurant that serves prime steaks, seafood, etc. The first time we went there we walked in the bar part which neither of us knew. Not that it is a problem, but the restaurant wasn't open yet. However, the patrons that were there seemed to be having a great time. I understand they have live music all nights, as there was a small band setting up and doing sound checks before 5. Oh, and it is a fully stocked antique bar such as I haven't seen in decades. We didn't have reservations, but since we were early they seated us in the enclosed patio area with cc tv in the room. Actually, many TV's . The waiter was prompt and very professional. Arrived with our tea and complementary bread quickly. He explained the menu, although it needed no explanation. The menu was still on the covid missing menu, rather short at the time, and guessing that it has gotten closer to the online menu. Steaks arrived perfectly cooked to order, as did the sides. This restaurant is some ala carte, some with sides. Now for the cost. I don't mind paying for good food, and a table for two with an appetizer, main course and side with tea was about $90. And if you add wine, beer, drinks you will probably be looking at about $120+ tip. Well worth the $, especially on an important occasion. Look them up on your device in Fredericksburg, TX. Make a reservation and enjoy. I will be posting photos soon.
Great music, food, and drinks!!! Damn good place to be
We had 4 or five different servers/wait staff. Confusing.
Great food and entertainment. Be sure to make a reservation on weekends. Long wait if not.
Good service, Brussel sprouts great, steak average, fries bad, over priced. Come on chef, don t be afraid to season the steaks.
The prices were so outlandish we didn't stay to eat. Cheapest item on the menu was a chicken salad sandwich for $12. The cheapest steak was $35.
Live music was good, so was the wine. Service, on the other hand, was pretty lousy. Food pricing was odd: there were menu items in the $50-$60 range (e.g., steak, quail), but the vibe seemed to be more bar food. My burger was overcooked and pretty flavorless (still edible). For a place that wants to sell $60 entrees, the chefs better be able to cook a $20 hamburger at least on par with 5 Guys.
Just had appetizers and drinks but service was fast and friendly! Large dining area in back was busy. Food smelled and looked awesome. A little pricey for a family!
We were looking for a good steak and found this place, the prices compared to big chains were higher than we liked, but what the heck, we are on vacation! The steak had a great flavor, cooked medium just like we asked for, a bit dry. We asked for a loaded baked potato, it came with a floppy piece of bacon folded up and placed inside lol. No big deal. Atmosphere was nice, loud but just fine. We d come back here for sure. Nice place.
The food, drinks, and most of the employees were great. Thanks to one bartenders acting like a pure *itch they missed a 5 star rating.
Great place yo eat a good steak and enjoy well music
This place rocked. Everything was great! THE BEST FOOD EVER. Great drinks, beautiful interior, great live music! Sour dough herb bread served with herb butter. Incredible crab stack, incredible ceviche. Half price steak night!! Prime rib served with au jus, and horseradish sauce, loaded baked potato, and smokey grilled big asparagus, and a fresh baby green salad with cranberries and pecans and cheese and balsalmic dressing. Beautiful big glasses of water, folded napkins, Incredible art work! Classy interior Texas decor and beautifully painted murals of the hill country on the walls. Classy all the way. A great place to end your day! Open late on Sunday. Don't miss it!!!
The dining experience was great! The service was fast, we didn't have to wait long for our food. The steaks were cooked perfect. The only complaint I had and probably would never go back because of it was the staff in the bar. After dinner we attempted to walk into the bar to listen to the band and order more drinks. One of the employees stopped us immediately demanding a cover change. That was fine. Then he said we needed to get in the back of the line at the door. I feel like after being there an hour and spending $250 we shouldn't have to get in a line. They were very rude and pushy.
Classy joint for drinks dinner and dancing. Shine the dust off yer boots and enjoy a good steak and good hill country music.
The place was very expensive for the quality of the food. I would say double what it was worth. Extremely, and I mean extremely noisy as you could hear the live band in the bar blaring throughout. The bouncer at the door was rude and the waitress could barely be found. I would suggest a different place as there are lots of options. I wish I would have chosen different.
The food was amazing!!! We went here for our five year anniversary and it was a fantastic experience. Hands down it was the best dessert I've had and the steak was delicious. We will make this a regular stop next time we are in town!
This place was awesome!
Great setting: They had live music in the bar area, football on in a side area, and a nice quiet restraunt in the back- all were really well kept and put together.
Food: We got dang near the best ribeye we've ever had- perfectly cooked and seasoned, great thick cut. Also had roasted pheasant- just perfect. Sides and drinks were great as well.
Staff: This is the only area that was a bit lacking- all the staff seemed a bit akward, and a little undertrained. We gave them the benefit of the doubt that it was prior to a big event weekend so the A-team probably wasn't working.
Very friendly place I had two jalapeno brisket poppers
Great steak house and bar! I love how you can either dine in the formal dining room or go to the bar section with live music!
Delicious! Melt-in-your-mouth beef. Impeccable food, service, and ambience!
Drinks were pricey, but it was the only place open later in the night, so we can t complain. Live music makes this place a fun low key way to spend the late evening in Fredericksburg.
Great service from what seems to be a very overwhelmed staff. Good band, and good drink selection.
It's pricey but you get what you pay for, great service and excellent food! Everyone goes out of their way to help you, that's good customer service!
Waited 2 hours for an overpriced mediocre steak paired with mediocre service. Texas Roadhouse makes better steaks.
The saloon area was lots of fun, great band that night. I think it was called Finding Friday and I would definitely recommend going to see them wherever they are next. Friendly waiters fast service, the dance floor was packed. The restaurant are was a little different story. Way overpriced for the quality of food (just my opinion). My husband had the chicken fried steak, seasonal veggies and garlic potatoes. He said the chicken fry wasn t very good and tough. He s had better at cheaper restaurants. I had fried shrimp and they were good. The waitress we had that night was friendly and asked if we were hot because she felt hot and it was warm in there, definitely needed to crank up the AC. Overall it was good but the prices are too high.
The food, drinks, and atmosphere is great. The staff was very friendly!
On 10/24/2020, ORDERED the special filet with lobster. It was "pricey", the steak was moist and tender, the was sparse, and dry, no melted butter to dip lobster. Mushrooms were cold. We where seated by the door and the other food got cold quickly. Other's in party ordered the special fish of the day everyone raved about it. The bar area was fun, staff was nice. I may try it again, will certainly ask to be seated AWAY from front door.
If I could give 0 stars I would. Extremely unprofessional service. The owner came up to our party waiting for our table with a newly engaged Couple and got mad at us for making minimal noise. They are RASIST. And if you want to have fun DO NOT COME HERE.
So much fun!! The drinking, the dancing, the band, the fun, the Best Band ever!!
Myself and a party of 6 ate here 8/22/20 and the food and service itself was decent. The real problem happened when we paid our bill and the waiter offered us to go drinks. My wife accepted the TO GO unsweet tea. We head to the front door and a man stopped us and told us we cannot take the TO GO drink with us.. I told him this is a non alcoholic beverage ask the waiter it's an unsweet tea and I proceeded forward. He grabbed me and forcibly told me I was not going any further with that unsweet tea.. which at this time .. I proceed to apply juke moves and get outside on the street with this madman grabbing me and trying to get the unsweet TEA from me. He finally escalated the situation to where I was at the point of having to choose to defend myself or drop the tea.. so I drop the tea and head back in for the manager. I find the manager and explain the entire encounter and how unprofessional the entire situation was.. over an unsweet tea the waiter offered to us. He apologized for the situation and told me I should have came and gotten him.. but reminded him his doorman grabbed me. I then told him I was ready to defend myself from being grabbed and he told me that would have been a bad idea "he's an offduty cop." He replied. This was a man in plain clothes standing by the door not in a police uniform. This was a 200 dollar dinner for 2 and needless to say we will not be back to this place.
Amazing! Cowboy ribeye, sweet potato fries and creme brulee!
My husband and I were in Fredericksburg celebrating our 29th wedding anniversary. We talked with the manager Kevin and he said he would take care of us; and he certainly did. We had a nice table away from the main dining area, great steaks and great service from our waitress Andrea! At the end of the meal Andrea told us that Kevin wanted to offer us a dessert as a gift for our Anniversary. Totally unexpected and awesome! Highly recommend whenever you re in town.
Food is good but a bit pricey. The saloon is amazing
Went there with a large group for a bachelorette party, and was very pleased with the service and the food. They went out of their way to accommodate us and the manager was very friendly and made sure we had a great experience. Will be going back next time I am in Fredericksburg.
Top notch steakhouse and saloon. A must stop in Fredericksburg.
Only went to the club side and we all had a good time. The missing star is from the staff always trying to take unfinished drinks.
Second time there...second time great meal and great service. Little loud. But all was good.
Wonderful service, amazing food, and great atmosphere.
Good but EXPENSIVE. Our waiter was super amazing but the food is about the same as anywhere else but the prices were way higher. $70 for fried shrimp, chicken fried steak, salad and 2 glasses of water.
We enjoyed an excellent NY strip steak and Cabernet. Great Texas ambiance and live music. One of my fave dinner spots in Fredericksburg. Dena is the best manager ever!
Waited for 30 minutes and no waitress evee acknowledged us! Manager spoke to us and said someone would be there in a minute and 30 minutes later we left.
We came into town for our anniversary and thought we should give this place a try. It did not disappoint! Great service, steaks were delicious, and the peach pie was great!
Great place and one of the few spots open late. They usually have some solid bands preforming.
A true testament to real Texas style dining. Delicious fresh seafood and fantastic quality steaks served by friendly professional highly knowledgeable staff. This is place is the real deal steakhouse and dance floor. Offering local beers, local music and the ultimate saloon experience. A must visit for those looking for the true Texas night out.
went to the crossroads saloon on a saturday night to hear a live band. all seats were taken except for 5-6 tables that were marked 'reserved' - found out they were reserved for the owner and their friends. finally found a stool near the bar. was reprimanded by the owner because my knee was in the pathway of the bar. few minutes later i turned to get the waitress' attention and the owner came up to me again and threatened to THROW me OUT of the bar!!! all because my KNEE was in the walkway . . . but her friends were allowed to STAND in the same walkway - blocking access to the bar. i think if you are not local, and not 'framily', they really don't want your business. sad because this could be a great place -
The food and service here is excellent and in a lovely setting. Their wine room is beautiful and perfect for a large party or a romantic reservation. My steak was excellently prepared and just as a very important side note their mac and cheese, which is a cheddar parm blend, is a must have. Also their fried pies are amazing.
Steak was fantastic. They are a little expensive but trust me, they're worth it.
This was pretty good. I asked for a medium cooked filet and it came out rare. I did not send it back. It tasted great and I did not get sick. But I wish I got what I asked for.
Scallops were soooooo good. This place was awesome. We also got the peach pie which was incredible. I can t say enough great things about it. Service was excellent. Highly recommend!
You have got to be kidding me!!!! $48.00 for 12oz sirloin?!? Extremely ridiculous prices on your food. So glad we walked out before ordering. Guaranteed we will not enter your establishment again.
Nice ambiance. Solid menu. Good live music. Clean. Good people, both in terms of staff and customers. Love the fact there is viability of food preparation.
