Had a great overnight stay. Leisure facilities are spot on and the food was lovely (although the waiter bought my wife's soup and then said he would bring the bread over but he never came back so she went without bread). The main course also took 40 minutes to arrive after we had finished the starter which was a bit too long considering there really wasn't very many others in the dining room.

Would visit again if in the area !

I came here for a works do and everyone was really pleasant as soon as we got there. Unfortunately I burnt my leg on my curling tongs and was really sore and uncomfortable for the dinner, however Yvonne (I think she was a first aider or had been perhaps cleaning) had noticed and went to get me some burn gel to put into my leg. She was so lovely and so quick to help me! Rebecca was another lady who seemed to be in charge of the catering at the event and noticed too, and got me some more burn gel and bandages to hold them in place. It helped with the pain so much and I enjoyed my night so much more thanks to those 2 ladies! Amazing service and attention to the clients, they are wonderful people!

Just returned from yet another stay at this hotel,...

Just returned from yet another stay at this hotel, we had an issue with the bed but was sorted straight away which we were happy with. Then there was a leak in the bathroom so it flooded the room under ours, so we had to change rooms, when we went to our new room there were chocs and wine so thanks guys a really nice thought. Unfortunately these things happen and are out of the hotels control, it's how they are dealt with that matters and as I said bother were sorted straight away. The hotel as always is clean, staff very polite and food superb. We are looking forward to visiting you again later in the year. Could we just say how impressed we were with Emily on reception for dealing with any issues that had arose during our stay. She is a little gem.when she was on reception and we came back after visiting the area she always said hi to us by name it makes a difference having the personal touch keep up the good work guys

We liked Cranage a lot but it wasn't perfect - what is? We ended up downgrading our room to a 'Superior' which was larger and had a bath. The 'Deluxe' was beautifully appointed (being recently refurbished) but a bit small and only a shower. So we went for the slightly run down but bigger option... The staff dealt with this wonderfully - top notch reception staff at Cranage! Food was really good, as was the spa. Overall, we had a great time, in a good place with excellent staff.

Country hotel nestled in a magnificent green estate.
The park is very pleasant.
Ideal for children, relaxation for adults.
The rooms aren't great, but they are spacious and equipped.
Cleaning could be better.

we had a lovely break for 4 nights.yes, where you stay is corporate style.and many people that use the hotel seem to be corporate, and then there are the weddings.but the actual main building is lovely.we had a lovely room overlooking the countryside.quite.the food we had on the 2 nights was very good.the staff were wonderful and just could not do enough to make our stay comfortable and enjoyable.going the extra mile was our waitress 'suzi', what a lady, a gem, she just couldnt do enough for us, so helpful, giving us info on the hotel, and what is in the area.the other lady to mention here would be, i think joanne, she worked on the bedroom side.she was lolvey, she wrote down for us places we may like to go, directions, and was so helpful in organising our room for us.we loved the leisure are, the pool. brill, sauna very good and steam room, good temperature, constant, good jacuzzi too.all in all brill. we loved our game of tennis too.

Huge place, good for business meetings, clean large rooms. Unlucky high price and nothing to do during a private stay apart from swimming pool and gym. But as hotel is far from any near civilization it limits attraction to neighbourhood's.

Great hotel if you get one of the nicer rooms. Some of the rooms are very, very dated and unpleasant to stay in. The ones that aren't are bang decent and the facilities are fabulous.

Breakfast is good for a buffet hotel and has a nice choice of foods.

The gym is split into two areas and well equipped. The pool is nice if a little short. Locals don't seem to understand the concept of lanes and I have twice been met by a wall of people swimming side by side and refusing to let me swim 'as the pool is full now'

Tennis court is a big plus too.

Hotel in itself is fab. Shame the food wasn't! Had steak with no option as to how it was cooked. Came rare and it was still like chewing a welly!! Wouldn't return based on food alone. Breakfast was good though.

Corporate conference place with rooms. Although features of the original hall look great. Bedrooms are in a separate new built block. Place is a bit soulless lacks personality. Tempus restaurant food is bland. Gym and pool are good.

Do not leave your credit card details with this hotel!
I had to chase them for bar bill for a drink I never purchased, (in fact I didn't actually use the bar) after tackling them they promised to refund. This was back in July 2016, its now mid September and still no refund! Shoddy practice, hoping you would forgot the charge. If they applied that scheme to all people that stay at the hotel I'm sure they make a few quid over the years.

Tried to cancel our room due to illness but they have said it is non-refundable and you cannot transfer it. How poor is this customer service - would never stay in a De Vere Hotel again. Shame on your group.

the building as you drive up is striking and a phenomenal first impression. some of the rooms share this charm, whilst others attempt to recreate this, they appear to be a portakabin in a rather unconvincing disguise.

This is a hotel with huge potential let down by tired rooms and an overly large, sprawling complex of conference rooms and hotel rooms. It took 5 minutes to walk from the front door to my room, with inadequate signage to direct me to the room. I had to ask at the bar for directions!

As previously mentioned, the rooms are in serious need of updating. My bed felt at least 30 years old and made horrible noises when I moved, the window wasn't sealed properly and thus there was a draft and there was marks and wear and tear on the old carpet.

The bathroom left much to be desired too, with an old cream coloured covering on the tiles and grout missing from the tiles.

The staff are lovely, and the food was great in my opinion. It is just the rooms themselves that let down this hotel.

Hi I stayed at this hotel on Saturday night and hotel is clean and tidy and room was really nice and comfy bed. The spa area was lovely and I had a treatment witch was very good. I eat in the restaurant in the evening and wasnt very happy with the service we got as we hat to wait over 20mins for are plats to be taken and staff wasn't that helpful but the manager of the restaurant did give us free drink to say sorry. I would say the food was lovely but very small portions for the prices of meals. Breckfast was lovely.

Rooms at Cranage Hall have improved over the past year, but the decor is still quite tired. The rooms are large and clean, the bathrooms are still quite small, shower pressure in many of the rooms is hit and miss, sometime it feels like you're being pulverised by a pressure washer. Breakfast is okay in the morning, the buffet is always full and you can ask for eggs to be done boiled or poached if needed. Unfortunately the coffee is a disappointment but there is a Costa in Holmes Chapel if you're in need of something that does taste almost near to an acceptable coffee.

A beautiful venue - the main building was a stately home and of course modern accommodation added. It's grounds are spectacular, used for weddings etc. Plenty of parking usually though if large conferences happening at the same time it can be difficult to find a space.
The conference rooms vary in size to suit your needs. Rooms always well equipped. Staff are always friendly and attentive. Great refreshment stations with a healthy offering alongside the occasional more comforting choice. I love the sweetie cart & sweetie wheel. Very good planning in providing Uncle Joe's mint balls in the rooms as such awful weather lately and a lot of guests with coughs, colds etc The bar area is comfortable and available if you want to take your coffee in there or try their great selection of wine or beer, etc. The restaurant is large and the choice of food is magnificent - always takes a while to decide what to have. Soup, sandwiches, healthy, veggie, salad, cold meats, several hot choices and variety of side dishes plus pudding - help yourself and no-one judges! Finished plates removed quickly but discreetly.
Not cheap as you'd expect for such a fantastic venue but worth every penny. There is a health club which caters for private members and guests alike.

Average nothing outstanding. Room nice and clean. Had to wait 45mins for a sandwich, only another couple in at the time. Shouldn't have been compromised due to wedding. However they didnt charge us for it. Staff lovely. Disappointed with the evening meal it was ok but nothing special. Could be better.

We came here from the airport as our flight was delayed. Our stay after a terrible day of unfortunate events was softened considerably by the outstanding hospitality we received at the luxurious Country spa hotel. The welcome we received and service provided by the staff was flawless. Especially the food and leisure facilities. Thank you very much to all of the staff who facilitated this pleasurable stay.
