I greatly enjoy Cox Arboretum metro park. No other park in the area has both formal gardens and hiking trails. I am especially fond of the tree tower. The view from it is spectacular.
Great now that you can bring dogs
The tower is awesome
A really nice place to take a walk. Best park in Dayton area.
Beautiful place for the family or alone. Very well maintained
Nice paved areas as well as rougher hiking through woods and wetlands. Scenic. Plan to return. Hope to be back when things are in bloom. Staff in center bery friendly.
Love the walking trails and spending time with my grandson with his firsts. Watching him experience new things.
My boys absolutely love the nature, and agriculture, and all the extra goodies they offer at Cox Arboretum, it is a great place to relax and unwind, or to just educate yourself and others about various aspects of nature, flowers, plants, trees, etc. If you have not been there, you outta go check it out, you will be amazed...
What a gorgeous day to explore this beautiful landscape! Not only is there miles of trails to walk, but amazing views all around you! This beautiful hidden gem in Dayton is most definitely worth the drive.. My girlfriend and I absolutely loved the tree house and just wish we could have explored it, however it was closed down due to covid-19... Hopeful to get to check it out this summer! They have gravel trails, wood trails, paved trails... So, no matter the type of trailer you're looking for this location may be perfect for you!
A public treasure. Go here if you need to find peace. The tree tower gives fantastic views.
First visit went for the butterfly house but it was a bit early in the season. Still greatly enjoyed walking the trails and hanging out by the pond watching the turtles and looking for frogs. Hours passed without even realizing it!
Beautiful all year long. Well maintained trails with few roots or rocks. Great for runners! I love running there. The garden areas are beautiful, the back pond is very serene and the tree tower is very cool! (It can feel a bit wobbly up there if it is windy, so if that bothers you, maybe skip it on a windy day.) The blue trail is worth trudging through snow to go see the bridge over the creek. It is so beautiful in the snow!
I'v been going here since I was a kids. Every time I go back it seems even nicer!! Great place to take you kids or just go take a walk in nature!!
Great community park off I75. Stop and stretch smell the roses
Great little park with butterfly house and lookout tower. Small lake with many turtles. If you like nature, this is the place. Visitor center with clean toilets are also available.
Photographers Paradise! Absolutely stunning for pictures!
Beautiful! Great place for pictures, and a leisurely walk!
Love going here. Plenty of trails ponds and nature to watch and visit. Feels like a bubble in the city.
Beautiful everything is beautiful the wildlife and fish was my kids favorite part. The bird tower was very neat and different never seen one like it what a beautiful view of the whole park. Hiking was so fun and didnt expect to get such a work out from the trails. Im very impressed and found a new place to take the kids and friends
Cox's Arboretum is a great place to unwind with a walk or run. Beautiful space.
Loved it. Friendly staff and the grounds are beautiful.
Walk there every day weather permitting. Not overly crowded. Clean, nicely paved walkways, well marked trails through the woods. Good exercise.
Easy walking trails through the park and woods. So many beautiful flowers most of the year, and the woods are great in the fall. There is a butterfly house that is nice when in season, and a "treehouse" lookout tower with incredible views.
One of dayton best parks in the city very very entertaining for you and your kids
Been going here for 10+ years. It's always beautiful. The trails are great. It's hard to believe when you are walking the trails that you are surrounded by the big city but it all seems to disappear. This spot is popular with the family when we go walking and looking at plants and wildlife.
It was a beautiful day as we drove into this park. There are several paved parking lots with multiple handicap parking spaces.
The visitor information center has a small gift shop and activity rooms. While there, we asked about upcoming activities. We found the staff very helpful.
Sitting on one of the porch swings we enjoyed the view of the pond and the beautiful views.
Many paths are paved and easy to walk.
We walked on multiple paths and explored the tree tower. This day, we did not take the well maintained forest trails. We chose to take the pairie trail and walk up the tree house.
The tree tower is several stories tall with wide steps. On the day we were there we could see the downtown Dayton skyline from the top veiwing platform. It was a little windy but the view was impressive.
The kids love the butterfly house and the tree tower!
Beautiful flowers in.bloom
Grandkids enjoyed seeing butterflies, fish and a very large turtle. They also loved climbing the tower
Well maintained Metropark. Beautiful gardens and trails.
I expected more flowers, the butterfly garden is somewhat to be desired, some attractions were closed due to construction
Very well maintained. Various species of plants. Several miles of trails. Only restrooms and trash cans are near the visitor center.
Fun to take kiddies, bring a lunch and a blanket. Huge fish and turtles. I think they are interested in humans as humans are interested in them. They have a huge tree house you can climb for a wonderful view. Went today as it was a beautiful day. Go and enjoy the butterfly exhibit. Enjoyed this place a lot. Thanks!
This is a wonderful place to go to walk around or just sit and eat lunch. Most paths are paved and easily navigated. I love coming here....it gives me a break from work
Scenic and cultivated space for botanical exploration, hiking, and a butterfly house.
A beautiful place for you r a picnic and to spend a few hours in nature.
Great experience with at the arboretum! My mom loved it a lot. We didn't see any butterfly at the butterfly shed, but it was still a great visit! Visit on a summer to see all the flowers blooming
A beautiful place for a walk in the woods and to enjoy natural beauty.
This place is really nice. It's got a lot to see and a couple miles to walk on the trails. A huge Garden of edible plants. Two beautiful ponds with fish and turtles in it. Everywhere we walk we found beautiful trees and plants with tags on them and we're learning more and more of what they're called and what they're all about. They have a Butterfly House and they have a tower that you can walk up and see above everything. They have a maze for the children. We find a lot of peace every time we go there.
I wasn't there very long and it had been 15 years since the last time but it looks just as pretty and peaceful.
Beautiful place for walks in the woods and enjoying a small escape into nature via the metroparks.
Flowers, butterflies, a maze, a climbing tower, ponds with fish and turtles and free admission. What's not great about that?
Super cool place, the butterfly exhibit was not very impress when I was there, but the tree house is awesome.
Great place to walk on paths. Clean and natural beauty..
Absolutely beautiful place! With the exception of the huge number of nerds playing Pokemon Go LOL (didn't k ow that was still a thing...), exceptionally well maintained landscaping and vegetation. Remarkable...
Lovely spot for photos and for just walking around with kids.
Nicely maintained. Lighting could be better for inside displays
Beautiful. Great trails. Butterfly house in the summer is wonderful.
Always clean, relaxing and beautiful! Highly recommended.
This place just keeps getting better and better. I've been coming here first or r over 20 years....and still ..better. all the improvements made absolutely add to the experience of the visitor. And as you can tell by my pictures, especially during sunset hours. Sooo oetacefull and beautiful. A great weekend place to witness and soak in all of God's splendor.
I greatly enjoy Cox Arboretum metro park. No other park in the area has both formal gardens and hiking trails. I am especially fond of the tree tower. The view from it is spectacular.
Park is always clean, plenty of places to go and see. They have a 1.8mi and a 1.1mi path. My daughter loves the kid maze, and I love the scenery.
Really great place to explore. The only negative is the crowds. Go on the hiking trails towards the back of the park to enjoy more nature and less people
Very pretty and relaxing place. Considering going for my baby shower, loved the atmosphere
An amazing place! Trails are well marked and easy to navigate for an older person like me.
