This is for all you Pokemon Go player's . When you are out of balls, and other items this is the place to refill if you are like myself and always rushing to try to fit that evening walk in, there are about 150 Pokemon stops here about 2or 3 every half mile or so. So if you're looking for something local, and are on a time crunch check out Cox Arboretum. They have been working on expanding the park and adding new areas of beautiful landscape and ponds so if you're not out on the Global Pokemon Go chase there is a lot of new stuff to check out

My wife and I decided to go out and hike another park this afternoon! (It's the 2nd one this weekend that we've been to without the little guy... he is still at grandparent's house)

I had absolutely no idea that Cox Arboretum MetroPark had trails outside of the main area.

We walked just over two miles today... there were three separate trails (very well marked) that border the outside of the property line! We saw a number of different wildflowers and birds during our outing!

This was officially the 18th Park, Reserve or Preserve that we've hiked in the last 19 weeks!!

#TeamClark's goal is to hike a different park, reserve or preserve every weekend until it's too cold to walk!

One of the jewels in the Gem City crown! I live in Spring Valley, the neighborhood next door, and I go there almost daily. I have been there at sunrise, sunset, and all hours in between and it is always a peaceful, beautiful place. I love to go there after work and decompress. The trails are easy to walk and there is always something to see. I have crossed paths with deer, hawks, and cranes. Great place to walk the dog. My yorkie thinks we own the place. This summer has been a little extra crowded due to covid and I have seen a lot of trash left behind. Please pick up after yourselves.

I've been going here since my childhood, it's one of my favorite places in town! Enjoy all the trails back in the woods, as well as all of the coy fishes, butterflies & a tower that lets you see as far as the eye can go over the whole city!

It is so beautiful here. Your experience starts with the welcome center (which was closed upon arrival.....we got there around 5:30pm on a Sunday). Anyway, next is the pond with Japanese fish and beautiful turtles. Next, you will find a path that goes either to the left or right. If you choose right, no pun intended you will find your path that takes you to Tree Top Tower.
My boys and I had a blast!!!

Lovely park. Lots of paved paths. Well maintained grounds. Several large ponds with koi, sunfish, turtles, and frogs. A couple waterfalls; natural and man-made. Beautiful flowers. Great place for the kids, weddings, and family photos.

This place is massive and beautiful! Great place to take the whole family--kids, adults, and the elderly. Easy paved walking paths and plenty of wildlife to entertain the kids. Bring bread to feed the turtles and ducks!

We have always loved the metro parks and today was no different. Beautifully maintained, architecturally special buildings. Glad to see the tower open! What shocked us was the metro parks volunteer spraying the walkways with herbicide he said is the same as round-up. This conversation took place adjacent to the butterfly house where moth cocoons were hatching! The walkways he sprayed were closed to visitors by cones. He explained if we stepped in that stuff and walked on the grass, we d leave ghost foot prints, presumably because the roundup will kill the grass. I am thoroughly disgusted that something as controversial as Roundup is being used in the Metroparks, and during visiting hours that we re crowded with groups of kids and other visitors and on such a breezy day (6/14/19 10am). I don t know what the Metroparks policy on poisons is, and I hope someone might respond to my comments and explain them.

Visited for a yearly night hike that Cox puts on for families. Several different tables were set up with facts about nocturnal animals, different activities, or even the animals themselves for kids and parents alike to enjoy. Even when an event is not taking place Cox Arboretum is a must visit for those who enjoy hiking or just various walks around the park. Recommended for all ages and walks of life.

Beautiful park with paved pathways perfect for strollers. Also noticed many unpaved paths for walking. Butterfly house appears to be a cool place to come from March to October while butterflies are peak. Lived in the area for a while and never realized this was here. Not sure if they do but this would be a really lovely place to light up with christmas lights and have a christmas market or some cocoa and hot wine. I didnt notice a playground but there is so much for kids to explore its definitely kid friendly!

Cox Arboretum is awesome! I seen many turtles and other wildlife, including a box turtle on the side of a trail. I would never remove a creature from its natural habitat, but I must admit that it was tempting. Turtles are my favorite! I wish they offered external restrooms though. Had to go towards the end of my visit, but wasn't allowed to visit any buildings after 5. Online map shown 2 restrooms, so I had indulged an extra cup of coffee before my visit.

Very nice! Would be a beautiful wedding venue. Can't sit on any of the benches, climb the tower and you aren't supposed to touch handrails. Is there ANYTHING else COVID could ruin for us this year??

Walking trails were great, as always, but the heat/lack of care on weeding in the beds was obvious. Given COVID and season, as expected. But for us, Cheryl and me, it was a time to walk and enjoy each other's company in a different setting.

Best part of this park is the Tower and the man made lakes! My son loves it, he climbed the tower 10 times or so everytime we are there. It is a nice park. Plenty of great areas for photo opportunity. Even better during spring, summer or fall. Plenty of walkways and areas to hang out. The trails are perfect for runners, joggers or walkers alike. Butterfly section is awesome. The man made lakes are very relaxing. You can see turtles, fishes and more.
