Fantastic customer service and advice. Tried a pair of stability shoes I had never heard of before...but they are great - in fact just run a 10k PB in them. Not really any more expensive than the big chains, either.

Both my wife and I went for the fitting service and came away with trainers. We both felt running shoes were forced on to us which we didn't want. When I questioned the choice of trainers, very garish colours, the chap in the shop said that THEY need to be happy we have left with the right running shoes which discounts the customer's wishes to some extent.

Additionally, when i reviewed the prices we paid for the running shoes on the internet, we found the mark up at over 100% even taking account for the fitting service.

In summary, stand by your guns and don't be forced to purchase running shoes you don't want and also be aware of the huge mark up on the shoes. Do a quick search on the internet whilst still in the shop.

Great advice and you are able to be fitted for running shoes using professional gait analysis equipment and software.

I was so bummed when my favourite style of Hokas were no longer available - but a Google search brought me to Coventry Runner, and they indeed had exactly what I wanted in my tiny size! I ordered two pair, and they messaged me to let me know the colour they had on the site was not what they had and asked if I would still like to proceed. I was actually thrilled as I liked what they had more, and ordered one of each. They had them in the mail like lightning, and they arrived two days later! I've purchased several pairs of trainers from Coventry Runner, Anne-Marie & team are always really helpful & knowledgeable and it's great to be able to try them out on the running machine and get your gait checked to reduce injury risk. Really enjoyed their Thursday evening specials as well when you get the chance to try gear out on a real run & have a fun sociable time with other runners. Whether you just starting running or have many, many miles beneath your feet, I highly recommend them!

The customer service was excellent and the staff found great shoes to suit my budget.
My running style was filmed in 3/4 pairs, which gave me confidence that I left with a pair with offered the exact support I needed.

This is the 3rd time we have bought brand new Spikes for my daughter. Our daughter is a Transplantee and represents Great Britain and Northern Ireland in the World and European Transplant Games. The friendly service and level of expertise from Coventry Runner is fantastic, as much time is given from the staff to make sure you are totally satisfied.

Can t recommend Coventry Runner enough

Looking for a specific brand and model of shoes I emailed for information and received a really helpful reply. As I live 30 minutes away I asked if they had my size in stock so I didn't have a wasted journey. Really helpful in the shop. Ultra safe and Covid secure but best of all was exceptional customer service, nothing too much trouble. If you need kit, this is the place to go

Exactly what I needed. After telling the staff my needs and using the treadmill and camera to narrow down the right type of shoe, I was given 3 pairs to try and they knew which I thought was the most comfortable. 0 problems in the month of training runs since I got the new shoes.

Also recommend socks that weren't in stock, and where to get them at a reasonable price.

Fantastic little shop. Not the cheapest by any means, but the knowledge and enthusiasm of the staff is something you can't put a price on. They offer gait analysis which if you buy shoes then and there is a free service, otherwise it costs. That seems fair enough to me! Good range of shoes and as I said before expert staff. If you live near Coventry and go running then, as the name suggests, Coventry Runner is for you.

A great place to go to buy running shoes and miscellaneous supplies. The staff were very friendly while we did gait analysis and I tried on new shoes, and I'm very happy with my purchase at the moment (disclaimer: I haven't run in the new shoes yet). I wasn't sure whether to put 4 or 5 stars, ultimately I put 4 because I think they are a little expensive. Casual runners might balk a bit at the prices. Otherwise I recommend the business.

Excellent customer service, searched high and low for my favourite running shoes online. After trawling the usual sites I found Coventry Runners had some in stock and they couldn t have been more helpful! Very efficient and lots of personal service, which is impossible to find anywhere else online! I live in East Sussex, 3 hours drive away, but that s not a problem for these guys, just shop online with them and you won t be disappointed!

Good shop with a lot of choice. Got my second pair of running shoes from here. Feel as though they were more helpful when I brought my first pair of running shoes compared to this time.

Strong covid precautions provided. Limited customers in the shop at once so don't go mob handed! Quick gait analysis with video. Then provided a selection of suitable shoes for my planned running. Mainly road in my case. Worth paying slightly more for the care and service imo. Parking is limited.

Very helpful, I popped in with a problem and they helped to sort it with no charge. really very helpful, I will be returning to buy my next shoes from here for certain!

I popped into Coventry Runner for a gait analysis after experiencing pain in my knee whilst jogging. A friend had recommended them and what a great recommendation it was. I'm posting this review 3 days and 2 runs after I visited the shop. I thought it made sense to try the trainers I bought and then post.

I went there to get a new pair of trainers, a little bit at the end of my tether. I have been doing the c25k programme, and having completed it found myself in quite a lot of pain in the days after each run. It didn't look good.

I figured it was probably the trainers I was running in or at least hoped.

Well, they checked my running, showed me what it looked like and offered a bunch of different trainers to try..all tailored to help me with the way I run.

And here I am, the day after a 5k run, waking around with no pain, feeling pretty good about carrying on running.

So yes, 5 stars. The difference between giving up, hurting myself or being able to carry on.

Amazing service and selection! Always love going here or shopping online with them. Gait analysis is really helpful in the shop as well and they have always had what I needed in terms of shoes - from XC spikes, to road shoes...just great!

What an experience. When I went in, I was greeted with open arms and a glimmering smile. The member of staff was extremely helpful. My gait analysis was done promptly with no fuss. Totally recommend. They have a good selection there and was offered tea and coffee!

Firstly, can I just start by saying I hate posting reviews, never mind negative ones, and I love supporting my local store, hence why I even visited this shop - but here goes.

Just after Christmas i visited Coventry runner. And was served by a very enthusiastic ex-runner who promised me 'there's a pair of running shoes in store for you' and convinced me to get my gait analysed. After four shoes, and a number of runs on the treadmill, plus a cup of tea! I spent 100 of my hard earned pounds on a pair of NIKE running shoes, I was happy at this point. I also wasn't told at that time, that if I had any problems with the shoes they don't come with a guarantee (unlike high street competitors; SWEAT SHOP and RUNNERS NEEDS, who include a 3 month guarantee regardless of how you've worn them)

Also can I say I've ran the London Marathon in a pair of shoes which 'weren't' made for running and survived, but they were falling apart, so was in need of an upgrade.

A week goes by, I'm wearing the shoes to work (to wear them in), after my first treadmill run of about 2k, my knee begins to ache and puts me out of running for 2 weeks, which isn't ideal as I'm running the Paris Marathon in April!

I then call the shop mid-week and explain I can't visit the shop until Saturday, in which the guy was exceptionally rude on the phone and basically told me there was nothing he could do in terms of exchange/refund.

On visit to the shop, I'm served by a rude older gentleman (same guy as on phone) who has '10 years experience in selling shoes' (hate when people pull out the experience card), doesn't listen to what my issue is, says 'you've worn them, there's nothing we can do'. Regardless he gets me back on the treadmill and continues to say they're the right shoe for my feet, he doesn't understand that the issue is in my knee - and that the shoe clearly isn't working for me.



I would advise you all to avoid this shop, and stick to the big high street ones, at least you get better service, a guarantee and someone who knows what they're talking about.

Very helpful when my wife bought new running shoes. Did gait analysis so shoes were perfect.

Bought a gorgeous Ron Hill jacket and a pair of New Balance running tights online and the items were delivered the next day.Great website and an excellent speedy service. There was even a lovely surprise of some sweets and a personal signed note. Would highly recommend. A fabulous local business supporting the local running community. Can t wait to wear them.

Just started running and been using an old pair of nike trainers, which i knew weren t good for my feet. Popped into Coventry Runner this morning and had amazing service. The lady who served me today was so helpful with showing me so many different styles of trainers, and didn t feel rushed once! :) Can t wait to try them out, hopefully when it stops raining! Haha x

Fantastic customer service, Sandy really helped me with an in depth gait analysis and after trying on pretty much every trainer in the shop and returning a pair that didn't quite work for me I now have a perfect pair of running trainers to help me on my marathon journey.
Couldn't recommend this shop enough. Will 100% be back in 500 miles for my next pair!

Terrible service. Owner was rude and condescending and refused to serve us on the basis that we may purchase elsewhere after having their gait analysis service. This was despite us agreeing to pay the gait analysis fee. Never have I had such bad service in a store!

I was recommended Coventry Runner by some friends and I am so glad I went. The service is superb. A gaite analysis is done using a treadmill set up with camera's to film your feet when running. Then depending on the outcome, various shoes are suggested, and the process repeated. I was given great advice and found a most comfortable pair of running shoes. Love this place. Well educated honest advice from a store owner who obviously cares very much about her customers. Only place I will ever go again for my running gear.

Knowledgeable stuff and gait analysis mean you can make sure you get the best shoes to suit your feet and the way you run. A little pricey compared to online but you get excellent customer service and worth every penny.

Excellent local running shop. Provided me with expert advice when I needed a new pair of running shoes. Spent around an hour there trying in various pair of shoes and having gait analysis on the treadmill.

My last two pairs of shoes were from this local friendly shop. You should be able to find everything you need, plus advice, for running here; trainers, clothes and accessories. They're really passionate about running and helping people to run, and have been giving us little fun running challenges on social media to encourage people to go out during these difficult times.

Good place to try on and buy a first pair of decent running shoes. The staff are knowledgeable and helpful.
I ended up trying on quite a few pairs of shoes of various designs and the staff were still really happy to help me try on more.
They are slightly more pricey, but it's well worth it for the service.

The shoes arrived really quickly with a lovely message from the store inside. Really happy with the service and would definitely recommend.

This relates to an online order instead of a visit to the shop.
The item in question (a Big Bobble Hat, if you're interested) arrived on the date stated and was as described (it was also accompanied by a wee packet of Haribo and a thank you note, both nice touches).
Anne-Marie sent regular updates regarding the status of the order as well.

I almost never leave reviews(bad habit I know) but this place was great. I bought some cheap trainers a while ago thinking I wasn't going to do much running, but I ended up doing it more and more as time went on. After a while I started getting pains in my right foot and knee. A friend advised I speak to someone who knows a bit about running/shoes so I went to Coventry runner and was impressed. The staff were helpful and friendly and the lady who served me checked how I walked and ran and knew straight away that I would get knee pains with my current setup-which I do. We went through numerous shoes and even when I settled on a pair she advised we look at the ones they had on sales as I could save some money. If a salesperson isn't just looking to get the most money out of me and actually help, it is a sure way of getting me to be a return customer and I will recommend them to friends. TLDR: great service, good selection, will use again .

Coventry runner is a typical independent store. It's quiet, bit out of the way where the obvious trade off you have is between slightly higher pricing, a smaller range of products versus a high quality of service and expertise.

I visited the shop primarily because of the gait analysis as I go jogging regularly and have experienced some pains in my knee.


The customer service is very good; you get one to one, friendly service which is not pressured at all but up front and honest.

In essence, if you're not going for a budget shoe and you're looking for something a bit more professional than what you'd get in JD sports then this isn't a bad place to come.
