We found this place by total accident. We were going to another restaurant downtown, but missed our turn. While attempting to correct our course, we drove by this place and smelled it, and just had to stop! Food was great, there is a huge variety to pick from. We had our food within 15 mins of sitting down. And our server Darby was probably the best waitress I ve ever had! She was excellent! Very attentive on drink refills and making sure we didn t need anything. I can t wait to go back!
I absolutely loved the food at Country s. I ate here while passing through on a business trip. I m from Birmingham, AL and the BBQ is really good in AL, so the best compliment I could think to give it is if Country s was in Birmingham it d probably be my new favorite BBQ joint. The brisket was amazing and so were the wings. Oh and try the corn (on or off the cobb)!
Everything was delicious... the BBQ, corn on the cob, Brunswick Stew, even the toast. Country's has the best sauces too. The service was fast, friendly, and efficient. I love this place.
Food was tasty, but not as good as I would think from a "southern BBQ" place. They waitress was sub-par anyway you wanna look at it. The only thing good about this place is the sweet tea. Will not willingly go to this place again.
This location is always the best. The chef turkey salad is always good with the best thousand island dressing.
I moved here about 5 months ago and love bbq so I checked this place out . I took coupe of my friends and we checked it out. The atmosphere was country and loved it, however the food was cold as hell and u can tell most of the stuff was warmed up on a microwave. it was disgusting, I told the waitress and she just brushed it off . And for that type of food 15.00 dollars that s super expensive . Hope they take this in consideration and make it better . Personally my self and my friends will never return but hope this place can give a better service to the other locals .
Just ate at Country's Barbecue around noon I had their fried chicken. It was totally over fried, i ask the waitress if that's the way they fried their chicken and she said yes, here is a picture of my chicken and it was very dry. Very disappointed
Any time I come to the Fort Benning area for training, Country's is a guaranteed stop. Great food, great service, and great atmosphere.
The original Country's location. World beating barbecue. Sauces are great just remember: the lighter, the hotter.
Fried pickles are always amazing. Buttermilk fried chicken never disappoint either. Only issue was silverware was dirty, twice.
Pork was too fatty and fries were greasy and soggy. Brunswick stew was pretty good. We ended up leaving and sending our food back. First time we've ever had to do that.
Drive thru has good customer service. Thanks CSHR3!
Great staff, not chain food and service. Lots of locals. The food won't bowl you over but it's a solid meal at a good price.
It took a little while for the server to come to our table after being seated to ask for drinks and or appetizers. Me and a friend each orderd the conglomerate plate when we got our food the old pulled pork was fatty, both plates were completely room temperature at best and the ribs on his plate we're still bleeding. The potato salad tastes like they purchased it from Walmart. All four side dishes that were ordered where cold and look like they had been sitting on a Shelf for a while. The cornbread that I got was stale and dry and also cold. The fried pickles for the appetizer were too thin and basically just eating fried batter although they did actually have a decent taste for batter. The highlight of the experience was the fried bread and the waiting staff was friendly. Also while we were paying we were asked how our meal was we told them it was okay at best, what's the point in asking if you're not going to do anything about the results.
Always a great place for BBQ, Chicken, Roast Beef, Ribs, whatever you have a taste for. Always good food too!
The food was okay. Above ddecen but nothing too exciting. I had the ribs and they were not fall of the bone. Pretty disappointing. The servers were ALL jail bait (their gimmick) so some of you guys might like that. Live blue grass band was great.
My experience was everything I wanted it to be. The Service, the wait, I was impressed for a first time
Ordered my food curbside , total wait was about 50 minutes . I was told it would be 20 minutes . Received my food it was cold , as if it was sitting . I ordered the steak hamburger that was burnt along with my toast . My sister also ordered food , they had her order wrong .
Some of the best bbq we've ever eaten! The brisket tacos are a must, and the Vidalia onion dip was out of this world! I'm having dreams about returning to this place!
My whole family loves place. My grandkids especially. My late mother loved it and she loved Miss Dot. Great chicken, great barbecue GREAT SUMMER VEGETABLES. My daughter and I went there yesterday . The cool atmosphere with soap box derby car and the boar hog with horns.
Wife ordered the beef brislket and it was nothing but fat. Now I have been here several times so I'm guessing this was just a bad day. Waitress a little slow but what the heck still love this place.
Good food, very friendly staff. A lot of food for the price with very big portions. Family-friendly atmosphere.
Too many new servers always slow and mess up my orders not going to macon rd one no more
Delicious food and great service!! Will be going back!!
Great barbecue, prompt and accurate service and down home atmosphere!
The brisket was all bone. No smokey flavor. I would never recommend.
The food CAN be good. I love the chopped pork. My issue is with To-go orders. Today for instance, there was no BBQ sauce and napkins/plastic wear. My receipt was also not in the bag. I boycotted the Mercury Dr location for a couple of years because of constant issues with the place. After once again giving them a chance for the past few weeks, I find myself back in the boycott mode. Literally every order comes with an issue. I have complained a couple of times when placing the next order but to no avail. I made the mistake once of complaining to Morpeth during an eat-in meal and he couldn't have been a bigger a..hole. No more Billy White
First time ever trying this. Got it delivered and it was soooo delicious! That smoked chicken is to die for.
All Country's locations in Columbus have character that's for sure.
Good food, good service, good atmosphere, good value
The food is really delicious here. Try the rib platter
Great food, and service, bluegrass band was amazing too
Love the tea... I crave it! Banana pudding and chicken fingers...oh yes!
The good was decent until we went to pay our Bill and leave. This was the first time ever we were told we couldn't take our uneaten chicken home. 1) we could take our salad, baked pottoe w/cinn & sugar, and baked apples But the chicken was off limits. 2) we were told it was because it was the all we could eat choice. 3) We paid for it and saw no sign stating this protecall. 4) My husband received cold coffee and we had to wait 10 minutes to get to-go boxes. We do not want to come again.
Absolutely surprised at what they had to offer. I had the carnivore plate and the sweet tea lager. Did not disappoint. I'll be back next time for the chicken plate.
Excellent service end to end! Covid friendly atmosphere.
I've never had a bad meal at any of the Country's locations. I tend to be a creature of habit and order the same thing every time.......Chopped pork platter (inside meat), Brunswick stew, and fries. I highly recommend this restaurant
Servers are very courteous. However, that little scoop of dressing with a ton of gravy was disappointing. That is the main reason people come to country's on Friday. THE DRESSING. everything else was good.
The food was ok. The chip pork was cold. They need to keep it warm. It's always cold.
Meat was very dry, no bbq or smoke flavor at all. Pork was very plain, almost like it was boiled- no seasoning anywhere. Brisket was so dry it crumbled. Ribs not tender at all. Baked beans tasted like they just added bbq sauce. Potato salad overloaded with mustard! Worst bbq I've ever eaten, but service was good!
Ordered over Phone was told 20 min my order would be ready ., got there went inside to pay and pick up after 20 min wait in line finally at window was told to wait the waitress walked away stood there another 10 min ( why idk). Finally a different waitress walks up I asked her could she please check on my order ..... so she checks .... oh it s right here ..... really !!! . This was very disappointing the food was cold we had an incomplete order . Overall , this was a big waist of time and money today.
Normally good solid food and service..brisket this time was a little disappointing..sliced SUPER thin and very fatty..but usually tasty with good serving sizes..huge sweet potato is my fave and best collard greens outside my grandma's kitchen and great selection of country cooking favorites.. ( skip the cokeslaw and go for the brunswick stew, u will thank me later! )
Went in to get a pig tater and was.very disappointed I ask for extra meat and sauce and I was told that I couldnt get it but this is wat I left wit didnt check it until I got home and i bought 2 of them
Been eating Country's for years the food is always great.
Enjoyed the Bluegrass band that played on Friday night. They were awesome! The service was very good considering how busy the place was that evening. The meal was good but the buttermilk pie was lacking in taste.
Mercury Drive Country's BBQ is the best. They get your order right, eat in or take out. They are very friendly and make you feel like you're at your Mama's table. This location has live entertainment on certain nights and everybody there is a friend. The kids love the "big" rocking chair and alot of adults have memories of sitting in that chair too. Eating at Country's and taking a picture in that rocking chair is something you have to do when you come to Columbus, GA. "Country's BBQ. The way folks down here like it!"
It's a great restraunt. Lots of nice people and good service.
Wow either I was really hungry or the food that day was extra delicious. Awesome job and the server Mia Burton was awesome.
Food is always great! Best BBQ around. We try to stop at Country's BBQ every time we pass through Columbus.
Generous portions and fairly priced. I had the Conglomeration platter and it was more than I could eat. The service is prompt and friendly.
Good food and good folks. It may not be everybody's kind of BBQ, it we like it round here.
The brisket egg rolls are the best they are big enough to be a whole meal. Make room for the bbq so share them.
Called in an order at 4:45, told it would be ready at 5:05. After asking about our order at 535. The order was missing fries, straws for the drinks, mustard and ketchup. Also the gallon of sweet tea we ordered was unsweet. Good luck with your order from here.
Although I have dined at Country s many times before today it was my first time trying the Lemon Merengue Pie. I was shocked at the merengue topping but it was a perfect compliment to the rich lemon cream. What a delight and great way to end my meal.
The food was soooo good. My server was so helpful and did her job on point. Countrys BBQ is on of the best places to eat at in Columbus. I had the Rib plater and of course the SWEET TEA. YES!!!
Food was outstanding, the " Shoop " sauce was fantastic. Wife couldn't get enough.
Good food and quick service during lunch. Unique atmosphere at this location.
Tasty barbecue. The brisket rocks and the brisket taco is great too. Huge portions so come hungry - even the Mason jar glassware is enormous! Definitely belly-filling comfort food.
Service was amazing! Food was on top of its game! Owners were fun and friendly And eat the lemon pie ;)
My husband and I picked up a to go order tonight on a whim. The burger he ordered with bacon was a pretty big burger, and looked delicious. The ingredients are obviously good quality. I ordered sliced pork so I could make my own sandwiches at home tonighy and tomorrow. I asked for inside meat so that I had less of the ends, as I'm not quite as fond of the bark as some people. The pork is tender and juicy, with a really great flavor. The service was pretty quick, even with a cooked to order burger. Having barbeque from Country's is always a treat. We have yet to eat here and be given anything but delicious food.
