I signed up my 98 year old mother with Alzheimer s with the Council on aging southwestern Ohio in June. It s almost September. They have done absolutely nothing for her. Nothing! What are you doing, waiting for her to die? I clearly understand your three out of five star rating. It probably should be lower.

Can never get a call back and can never reach a person who can help you. The receptionist is nice, then transfers you to a voice mail that says they will return your call. I have called 8/23, 8/29, 8/31 and today. I received one voice message on 9/3 at 7 pm telling me they were too busy to call me.

I'm writing this review for my elderly aunt who is not computer savvy. For a couple of years I have been given numerous aides. Most are not even trained to clean your home. Have caught several of them using "Lysol spray" to clean my toilet and shower. Always get the run around when you call. One aide they sent smelled so bad, had greasy hair, wanted to sit down numerous times because she had COPD! Here for themselves and not clients. Animals get better treatment.

I'm a senior and have been having health problems that prevent me from doing many things for myself...soooooo I called and have never been treated so rudely...I was treated like I'm asking for a special favor ... when I shared about the health problems that prevent me from doing for myself the lady I talked to suggested I see a Dr. and did not set up for anyone to visit me...So my question is....What does the Council on Aging do exactly?? Oh...and whoever answers the phone...please be nicer...

Oh goodness, where do I start? If I could give 0 stars, I would. The case managers are extremely lazy, and quite rude. They will schedule appointments , then they won t show up, they won t call, and you can NEVER get a hold of them. IF they show up, they act like you are a burden- while they re in your home!!!! They can be notified of a serious neglect problem, yet they will do absolutely nothing about it, then they will blame everyone else. These case managers can t be bothered to do a job they are supposedly qualified for, and it clearly shows! If you truly care about your loved ones, or yourself; you will find a different agency or provider.

I had an Aetna care case manager under the waiver system.she was very prompt calling back and did a great job her name was Sarah she is no longer with the agency and the COA never called me to tell me I had a new manager I asked to have the person call and she never did I have a critically serious problem and haven t had anyone help me or even contact me I agree with the other reviews but would say a 5yr. Old could do better.my experience with them went from the palace to the outhouse d Aetna shares much of the blame for this

My 93 year old grandmother survived covid. Unfortunately it had lasting affects. Council and Aging has done well at sending out aids to assist in the mornings. The 1st aid who came to assist was so extremely helpful and resourceful. The second aid who helps now, she is also kind. The only complaint I have is that you aids often do a no call/no show or call off without warning or telling in advance. This is not ok for families who rely on the aids on a daily basis.

Poor service, so much turnover with Care Managers that I can't get anything done for my mother.
The last care manager I had that was good said she was quitting soon due to high case loads, no respect or assistance from management even though they claim to want to help. There is a reason some top management also left or got fired. They don't care about employee development or how to encourage self care. Instead they put blame on the care managers for there poor planning and management skills.
