Lots of resources and a beautiful building. Awesom...

Great library. Well-stacked, helpful staff. Good online resources.
Not friendly. I just went into this library with my toddler son. We looked around and sat in front of the youth desk for 20 minutes without any acknowledgement from the staff member within 10 feet of us. I said hello and they ignored me. My toddler waved, she didn t look up. Then a person who I can only imagine is a regular came in with her kid and the staff member lit up. Apparently new people don t exist. We just moved here from Florida and I am supremely disappointed.
We love the Council Bluffs Public Library. I believe it's the best in the Omaha/ Council Bluffs area. They have a nice selection of books, audio books, games and more. They have great programs for kids too.
I've been going to this Library for 22 years and it has always treated me well. Books for reports, books for enjoyment, books about anything and everything. Nice selection of cds, huge selection of DVD's (forget redbox), and they even have paintings you can check out (or at least they used to). Love this peaceful place where you can find anything. Staff has always treated me well. They are quick and friendly.
Very loud inside this is not a library to study at. The homeless and kids have taken over. Running through the halls, up the stairs talking loudly. Theres no order not a place to study! Staff are too intimidated to say anything.
2 hr free public computer use time. Can get more ..just ask. New building, clean & quiet. Ample parking.
Very friendly and helpful the dozen times I've been there!
My grandson and I love the activities for toddlers at the library. He has so much fun. Don t miss story time and the special activities. They are great!
This is a nice looking and spacious library. Overall as libraries go, I think it's a good one.
Nice facility. Great selection. Plenty of computers.
Terrible staff. Kathy Reiger is still managing due to family connections to city hall. The IT guys will lie about the poor wifi coverage being your electronics and the staff create arbitrary rules to enforce selectively. The director (Kathy Reiger) thinks the place is her own private "show palace" regarding chair placement and the best reading area (East atrium) was converted to two rooms that are empty 90% of the time. The library board and staff find ways to spend money needlessly (5 outdoor cameras, 2 gates to block 20 square feet of nook, interior book drop rebuild) but refuse to extend wifi coverage in the building. The Teen Center is great but the library director\staff voted to close at 5pm on Friday and Saturday due to "too many teens". Too many old ladies expressing their angst via draconian behavior.
I am very pleased with my experience at the Council Bluffs Public Library. Their service is wonderful. They offer plenty of solitary, quiet areas in order for visitors to work on their personal computers. They also have computers available to you. They have pretty much any book you can think of, and have a very wide range of DVD's and other media. I would however like to point out that rowdy kids sometimes choose this Library as a hang out, and while they have never directly caused trouble with the staff or any visitors, they can sometimes be loud and quite annoying. Regardless of this, I still believe it is a wonderful and fun place that the whole family can enjoy. In fact, I'm here right now as I'm writing this review!
Every so often the computers have a little trouble but the staff there are awesome.. I can learn more here then a college :) .
Have to drop off outside before going in..no notification before walking in and finding out...customer service?
My Reasons for 2 stars is because i hate the fact that the library closes on friday at 5 and there is some people comeing and going then waste their time because they went to the library with their 2 or any age of kid to see the library close i think on fridays they need to close at 6:00 pm
Our family loves going to the CB Library. The kids station is always set up with a fun, new environment and the book selection is fabulous! I like the convenient drop-off location and the staff are always very help if assistance is needed. We always enjoy a trip to the Council Bluffs Public Library!!
This is one of the nicest libraries in the entire metro area. And I really appreciate their adult programming.
This library is exceptional for its amazing kids area. A huge imaginary play space that rotates bi-monthly (post office, pizzeria, farmer's market, airport, etc.), lots of clean and organized toys, puzzles, and blocks. The story time is fabulous and it's always a plus when you can tell the children's librarian actually likes kids. They also have a huge selection of board games in the teen area that are fun to play. I really think libraries need to focus more on how to bring kids inside the building to remain relevant to a younger generation and it's clear that they're designing their programs and activities with that goal in mind. It's a bummer to pay for parking, and not every librarian is friendly there, but overall it's nearly always a pleasant and fun experience!
Easy to get card. Great friendly, Safe place to read or study. Check out mixed materials.
Not very busy. The staff is always nice and helpful. They always have what I'm looking for so I can get in and out quickly if I want to.
I am a book lover! I enjoy reading and this library is well equipped with a lot of books, as well as other materials. As I get older, the large print are helpful and there is a nice selection. I took my granddaughter to get her library card at 10 months of age. I want her to love the library and appreciate books and learn to be respectful of others while enjoying this public place. At almost 4, it has become a place she can go to learn and find movies and she loves it.
They staff are very nice and helpful. I go here all the time for the computer and printing its well sanitize after each person uses the computer's. Great place to go.
Called the library and the gentleman was very nice and answered all my questions and gave me a description of what I was looking for and was very helpful. I felt like my questions were answered and that I would be helped when I went to the library which is nice to know as that has not always been the case when I have gone to libraries.
The library is a peaceful place to go to read or study. They have fun things for kids to do and they have a huge selection of dvd's to check out for free.
This is a modern interactive library. Excellent conference rooms. Staff is very helpful for us older folks when we need to navigate through digital files we're not familiar with. Like every good library, the Council Bluffs Library is very involved in the community. Great place!
Nice people they help you out when you need it and the video games help
The staff is friendly and always willing to be a help!
Homeless central! Nasty.
Splash washing themselves in the bathroom while another is in the stall with his phone playing loud ghetto music as he sings along (and grunts while he does #2)
Another urchin comes to computers, drops his bag and jacket in a heap as he turns the corner to use back computers...which are windows freakin 8!
Meters, meters and more meters.
Downtown is a joke, pay to park in Podunk cb?
Library parking HAS METERS?
I left the town/city...hell, I left the damn state. Keep Iowa!
The majority of the facility is nice enough, but someone please clean the men's room. What ever you have growing in the drain and the back side of every single toilet, smells worse than what goes down them. I cannot consciously suggest to another guy to go to this place as long as the main restroom smells that bad.
Staff is rude. At least they've replace that awful librarian Barbara Peterson. She refused to take any responsibility for the actions of her staff.
I've been to my share of libraries, and the CB one is one of the, if not the best one I've ever been to. Before spending and arm and a leg over at Barnes and Noble or on iTunes or at Blockbuster, go check out the library. It's worth the 50 cents in the meter. Trust me.
A great library; friendly, positive persons helping you find what you need. So many varieties of books, DVDs, and all sorts of resources. Comfortable, private places to read as well. Cool design of library. Best one around!!
Impressive library with a wonderful youth program. Regular classes for all ages make it a staple for our family.
I use it almost exclusively to print documents since it's close to home so my exposure is limited.
It's a nice library, friendly and helpful staff, lots of computers to use.
If it has a drawback, and I understand why, it's that some questionable people that are there. You see people sleeping in chairs, others just mingling and they all seem to know each other so I assume they travel in the same group.
I've never seen them bother anybody so it's a mild drawback.
